Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the
product.
When using electrical appliances, always follow basic precautions to reduce the risk of re, electrical
shock, and injury to persons including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using this appliance.
2. This appliance is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not touch hot surfaces with bare skin.
If provided, use handles when moving this appliance. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture,
pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 ft. (0.9 m) from the front of this appliance.
WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
WARNING: Use extreme caution when operating heater near children and the disabled.
3. The appliance is not to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction.
4. This appliance is not a toy. Supervise children playing near it.
5. If possible, always unplug this appliance when not in use.
6. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug, after the appliance malfunctions, or if it has
been dropped or damaged in any manner.
7. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
8. Only a qualied service person should repair this product.
9. Under no circumstances should this replace be modied. Parts having to be removed for servicing
must be replaced prior to operating this replace again.
10. Do not use outdoors.
11. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never
locate this appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
12. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners or the like. Arrange cord
away from trafc areas and where it will not be tripped over.
13. To disconnect this appliance, turn controls to the off position, and then remove plug from outlet.
14. Connect to properly grounded outlets only.
15. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes or, in
the absence of local codes, with the current CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code or for U.S.A.
installations, follow local codes and the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA NO.70.
16. The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet.
17. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause
an electric shock or re, or damage the appliance.
18. To prevent a possible re, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft
surfaces, like a bed, where opening may become blocked.
19. This appliance has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline,
paint or ammable liquids are used or stored. This replace should not be used as a drying rack for
clothing. Do not hang Christmas stockings or other decorations on or near this product.
20. Use this appliance only as described in the manual. Any other use not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause re, electric shock or injury to persons.
21. There is a thermostat limiter inside the heater. When inner temperature overheating or abnormal
heating occurs, the thermostat protective device will cutoff the power supply to avoid damage to the
replace or risk of re.
22. Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may overheat and cause risk of re.
However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord must be No.14 AWG minimum size and rated
not less than 1875 watts. The extension cord must be a three-wire cord with grounding type plug and
cord connection. The extension cord shall not be more than 20 ft. in length.
23. See directions in Figure 1. This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown in gure
1. See Figure 1 for grounding instruction. An adapter as shown at C is available for connecting three-
blade grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding plug extending from the
adapter must be connected to a permanet ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The
adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

WARNING: Do not exceed 40 watts per bulb. Use of higher-rated bulbs may result in
a re, causing property damage or personal injury.
WARNING: Make sure the power is turned off before proceeding. Only a licensed
electrician should perform any electrical repairs or rewiring of this unit in
accordance with national and local codes.
Follow the original wire routing, color coding and securing locations when making
repairs or replacements to any electrical component.”
WARNING: Electrical outlet wiring must comply with local building codes and
other applicable regulations to reduce the risk of re, electrical shock and injury
to persons.
WARNING: Do not use this replace if any part of it has been under water.
Immediately call a qualied service technician to inspect the replace and
replace any part of the electrical system.
WARNING: Disconnect power before attempting any maintenance or cleaning
to reduce the risk of re, electrical shock or personal injury.
WARNING
To avoid injury from unexpected starting or electrical shock, do not plug the power cord into a
source of power during unpacking and assembly. The cord must remain unplugged whenever
you are adjusting/assembling the replace.
If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to use or plug in the power cord until the missing
or damaged part is correctly replaced. To avoid electric shock, use only identical replacement parts
when servicing double-insulated tools.
Cold climate installation recommendation: When installing this unit against a non-insulated
exterior wall or chase, the outer walls must be insulated to conform to applicable insulation
codes.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
A 15 AMP, 120 V, 60 Hz circuit with a properly grounded outlet is required. Preferably, the re-
place will be on a dedicated circuit as other appliances on the same circuit may cause the circuit
breaker to trip or the fuse to blow when the heater is in operation. The unit comes standard with 6
ft. (1828 mm) three prong cord, exiting from the rear of the replace. Plan the installation to avoid
the use of an extension cord. If an extension cord must be used, it must be a minimum 14 AWG,
three wire with grounding type plug connector and rated not less than 1,875 watts. The cord shall
not be more than 20 ft. in length.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
The insert (B) comes preassembled to the mantel (A).
To remove the insert (B), unscrew the screws from the
mounting brackets holding insert (B) onto mantel (A)
inside front panels. Then carefully lift and pull insert (B)
out from the back. Be careful to not slide the insert (B)
against the base of mantel (A), which could scratch the
nish.
CAUTION: Unplug insert (B) from power supply before
moving.
To install a new insert, lift the insert carefully into the back
of the unit and center it in the opening. Do not drag insert
across hearth/base as it may scratch the unit. Install the
mounting brackets to hold insert ush against the inside
of the front of mantel (A).
CAUTION: Do not plug insert into power supply until
the insert has been completely installed and mantel (A)
moved into its nal location.
Move the completed unit only short distances and with
great care. It takes two people to move completed to its
nal position.

POWER
The power switch supplies power to all of the functions of the replace.
HEATER
The replace consists of a fan-forced wire-element-type heater. The heater switch turns the heater
ON and OFF. As an important safety feature, the heating element is designed with a
delayed activation sequence. When the heater is turned ON it will take several seconds for the unit
to begin blowing hot air and the fan blower will continue to run for several seconds after the heater is
switched OFF.
TEMPERATURE
The temperature control knob regulates the temperature level of the heater. Turning the knob
clockwise will increase the heat output. The further the knob is rotated clockwise, the higher the
set point temperature. Turning the knob counterclockwise will lower the set point temperature.
Use this function to help regulate the ambient temperature level.
BRIGHTNESS
The ame brightness control knob adjusts the ame brightness. Turning the knob to the left
(counterclockwise) dims the lights and ame effect. Turning the knob to the right brightens the lights
and ame effect.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
CLEARANCE TO COMBUSTIBLES
Keep electrical cords, drapery, furniture and other combustibles at least 3 ft. from the front of the heater
and away from the sides.
CLEANING TRIM
Clean the metal trim using a soft cloth, slightly dampened with a citrus oil-based product and buff with a
clean soft cloth. Do not use brass polish or household cleaners as these products will damage the metal
trim. Citrus oil-based products can be obtained at supermarkets or hardware stores.
REPLACING THE LIGHT BULBS
This electric replace uses three clear 120-volt, 40-watt, E12 candelabra-base light bulbs.
The insert only requires two clear 120-volt, 40-watt candelabra-base light bulbs. For convenience, if a
bulb burns out, it is a good idea to replace all the bulbs at the same time.
• Dust your replace regularly with a soft non-lint producing cloth or household dusting product.
• Clean your replace with a gentle non-abrasive household cleaner. Make sure to dry your replace
immediately with a soft cloth or towel.
• Tips for using touch-up pen (AA): For scratches, stroke in direction of scratch. For worn areas,
stroke in direction of wood grain. Rub excess colorant promptly with a soft cloth.
• The motors used on the fan and the ame generator assembly are pre-lubricated for extended
bearing life and require no further lubrication. However, we recommend periodic cleaning/vacuuming
of the fan/heater.
• Make sure the unit is turned off and unplugged whenever you are cleaning the heater or replace.

2. Carefully tilt glass and frame forward a couple of
inches. Then pull complete glass assembly up and
away from unit (Fig. 2).
3. Locate the two ember bed securing nuts on the left
and right sides of the log set. These securing nuts
are disguised as wooden embers (Fig. 3).
4. Turn nuts counterclockwise to loosen; remove
and set aside. Securely grab logs on left and
right side and lift log/ember bed assembly
straight up. Once ember bed has cleared the
support bracket and threaded rods, bring
log/ember bed assembly forward and out of unit
and set aside in a safe place (Fig. 4).
1. Turn the master power switch off, then unplug
the power cord from the wall outlet.
If replace has been operating, let the unit cool
at least 2 hours.
Locate and rotate the 2 nuts on the glass holder in
counterclockwise direction to loosen the glass from
insert. (Fig. 1).

5. Unhook light bulb spring clips from the bulbs, and
unscrew the bulbs (Fig. 5) After replacing the
bulbs make sure to replace the light bulb spring
clip. Remember to replace all the bulbs at the
same time with clear 120-volt, 4-watt E12 light
bulbs.
Follow steps 1 through 4 in reverse order to
reinstall glass and frame into your insert.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
The manufacturer warrants this product to be free from manufacturing and material
defects for a period of one year from date of purchase, subject to the following conditions and limitations.
1. Install and operate this electric replace in accordance with the installation and operating
instructions furnished with the product at all times. Any unauthorized repair, alteration, willful abuse,
accident, or misuse of the product shall nullify this warranty.
2. This warranty is non-transferable and is made to the original owner, provided that the purchase was
made through an authorized supplier of the product.
3. The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of part(s) found to be defective in material or
workmanship, provided that such part(s) have been subjected to normal conditions of use and
service, after said defect is conrmed by the manufacturer’s inspection.
4. This warranty does not cover the light bulb(s) included with the electric replace.
5. The manufacturer may, at its discretion, fully discharge all obligations with respect to this warranty
by refunding the wholesale price of the defective part(s).
6. Any installation, labor, construction, transportation, or other related costs/expenses arising from
defective part(s), repair, replacement, or otherwise of same, will not be covered by this warranty,
nor shall the manufacturer assume responsibility for same.
7. The owner/user assumes all other risks, if any, including the risk of any direct, indirect or
consequential loss or damage arising out of the use, or inability to use the product, except as
provided by law.
8. All other warranties – expressed or implied –with respect to the product, its components
and accessories, or any obligations/liabilities on the part of the manufacturer are hereby
expressly excluded.
9. The manufacturer neither assumes, nor authorizes any third party to assume, on its behalf,
any other liabilities with respect to the sale of the product.
10. The warranties as outlined within this document do not apply to non accessories used
in conjunction with the installation of this product.
This warranty is void if:
a. The replace is subjected to prolonged periods of dampness or condensation.
b. There is any unauthorized alteration, willful abuse, accident, or misuse of the product.
c. You do not have the original receipt of purchase.

AVERTISSEMENT
An d’éviter les blessures qui pourraient résulter d’une mise sous tension imprévue ou d’un
choc électrique, ne branchez pas le cordon d’alimentation sur une prise de courant pendant
l’assemblage et l’installation. Le cordon ne doit pas être branché pendant l’ajustement ou
l’assemblage du foyer.
S’il y a des pièces manquantes ou endommagées, ne tentez pas d’utiliser l’appareil ou de brancher
le cordon d’alimentation avant que ces pièces soient remplacées. An d’éviter les chocs électriques,
n’utilisez que des pièces de rechange identiques à celles d’origine pour les outils à double isolation.
Recommandations pour l’installation en climat froid : Lors de l’installation de ce foyer contre un
mur extérieur non isolé ou un mur de service, les murs extérieurs doivent être isolés en
respectant les normes en vigueur relatives à l’isolation.
CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ
21. À l’intérieur de cet appareil se trouve un limiteur. Lorsque l’appareil surchauffe ou que sa température
devient anormalement élevée, le dispositif de protection du thermostat coupe l’alimentation électrique

Toutefois, si vous devez utiliser une rallonge, choisissez une rallonge d’un calibre minimal de

branches avec mise à la terre et prise correspondante. Sa longueur ne doit pas excéder 6 m
(20 pieds).
23. Consultez les instructions à la gure 1. Cet appareil est conçu pour être utilisé sur un circuit de 120
volts. La che dont est muni le cordon est illustrée à la gure 1. Consultez la gure 1 pour connaître les
instructions pour la mise à la terre. L’adaptateur illustré (C) devrait être utilisé pour brancher les ches à
trois broches avec mise à la terre aux prises à deux fentes. La che de mise à la terre verte de l’adaptateur
doit être branchée sur une mise à la terre permanente comme une boîte de sortie correctement mise à
la terre. Ne vous servez pas de l’adaptateur si une prise à trois fentes mise à la terre est disponible.
AVERTISSEMENT : Assurez-vous que l’alimentation électrique est coupée avant de
continuer. Conez les réparations électriques et tout nouveau câblage de ce foyer à un
électricien agréé qui respectera les codes nationaux et locaux.
En cas de réparation ou de remplacement d’un composant ou d’un câble électrique,
respectez l’acheminement des câbles, les codes de couleur et les emplacements de
xation d’origine.
AVERTISSEMENT : Le câblage de la prise électrique doit être conforme aux codes du
bâtiment locaux et à tout autre règlement an de réduire le risque d’incendie, de choc
électrique ou de blessure.
AVERTISSEMENT : N’utilisez pas ce foyer si une partie de celui-ci a été immergée.
Appelez immédiatement un technicien qualié qui inspectera le foyer et remplacera toute
partie du circuit électrique.

Placez d’abord l’interrupteur principal en position d’arrêt (OFF). Retirez ensuite la che de
la prise murale.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ
BRANCHEMENT ÉLECTRIQUE
Un circuit de 15 A, 120 V et 60 Hz mis à la terre est nécessaire. Il est recommandé de réserver
un circuit au foyer, car d’autres appareils alimentés par le même circuit pourraient causer le
déclenchement du disjoncteur ou faire griller le fusible lorsque le radiateur est en fonction. Le
foyer est muni d’un cordon à trois broches d’une longueur de 1,82 m (6 pieds) qui se trouve à
l’arrière du foyer. Planiez l’installation pour éviter d’utiliser une rallonge. Si vous devez absolu-
ment utiliser une rallonge, choisissez une rallonge trilaire d’un calibre minimal de 14 et d’une
puissance minimale de 1875 watts. Sa longueur ne doit pas excéder 6 m (20 pieds).

INSTRUCTIONS POUR L’ASSEMBLAGE
Le foyer (B) est déjà encastré dans le manteau (A). Pour
retirer le foyer (B), dévissez les supports de xation
maintenant le foyer (B) dans le manteau (A), situés dans
les panneaux avant. Soulevez délicatement le foyer (B) et
tirez-le vers l’arrière. Prenez soin de ne pas faire glisser
le foyer (B) sur la base du manteau (A) pour ne pas
l’égratigner.
MISE EN GARDE : Débranchez le foyer (B) avant de
le déplacer. Pour installer un nouveau foyer, soulevez
délicatement le foyer et insérez-le au centre de l’ouverture
située à l’arrière du manteau. Ne faites pas glisser le foyer
sur la base an d’éviter de l’égratigner. Posez les supports
de xation de façon à maintenir le foyer de niveau contre
l’intérieur de la partie avant du manteau (A). MISE EN
GARDE : Ne branchez pas le foyer sur une prise de courant
avant qu’il ne soit complètement installé et que le manteau
(A) soit bien en place. Ne déplacez le foyer assemblé
que sur de petites distances et avec grande précaution.
Deux personnes sont nécessaires pour déplacer le foyer
assemblé jusqu’à l’emplacement voulu.

Vous pouvez accéder au panneau de commande qui se trouve dans le coin supérieur droit du foyer en-
castrable en poussant et en soulevant la petite porte.

Vous pouvez consulter les renseignements du service à la clientèle en poussant et en soulevant la petite
porte qui se trouve dans le coin supérieur gauche du foyer électrique.

ALIMENTATION
L’interrupteur permet d’alimenter toutes les fonctions du foyer.
RADIATEUR
Le foyer est constitué d’un radiateur électrique à éléments et à air forcé. L’interrupteur du radiateur per-
met de mettre en marche (ON) et d’éteindre (OFF) le radiateur. L’interrupteur de température contrôle
le thermostat an de maintenir la température de la pièce à la valeur choisie. Par mesure de sécurité,
l’élément chauffant comporte une séquence d’activation tardive. Lorsque le radiateur est mis en marche
(ON), le foyer commencera à émettre de l’air chaud après plusieurs secondes seulement. Également, le
ventilateur continuera à fonctionner plusieurs secondes après que le radiateur a été éteint (OFF).
TEMPÉRATURE
Le bouton de commande de température contrôle la température du radiateur. Tournez le bouton dans le
sens des aiguilles d’une montre pour augmenter la chaleur. Plus vous tournez le bouton dans le sens des
aiguilles d’une montre, plus la température est réglée à la hausse. Tournez le bouton dans le sens con-
traire des aiguilles d’une montre pour régler la température à la baisse.
BRILLANCE
Le bouton de contrôle de brillance (brightness) ajuste la brillance de la amme. Tourner le bouton vers
la gauche (en sens anti-horaire) abaisse l’intensité de la lampe et l’effet de amme. Tourner le bouton
vers la droite (en sens horaire) augmente l’intensité de la lampe et l’effet de amme.
ENTRETIEN GÉNÉRAL
• Époussetez régulièrement le foyer à l’aide d’un linge doux et non pelucheux ou d’un accessoire pour
l’époussetage domestique.
• Nettoyez le foyer avec un nettoyant doux et non abrasif. Essuyez-le immédiatement à l’aide d’un linge
doux ou d’une serviette douce.
• Conseils pour l’utilisation du crayon à retouche (AA) : En cas d’égratignures, suivez le sens de l’égratignure.
Pour les surfaces usées, suivez le grain du bois. Essuyez rapidement toute trace de crayon non nécessaire
à l’aide d’un linge doux.
• Les moteurs utilisés sur le ventilateur et le générateur d’effet de amme ont été prégraissés pour prolonger
la durée des roulements et n’exigent aucun autre graissage. Toutefois, nous recommandons de nettoyer
le ventilateur et le radiateur et d’y passer l’aspirateur périodiquement.
• Assurez-vous que l’appareil est éteint et débranché lorsque vous nettoyez le radiateur ou le foyer.
DISTANCE MINIMALE D’UNE SOURCE DE COMBUSTIBLE
Assurez-vous que les matières combustibles, comme les cordons d’alimentation, les rideaux et les
meubles se trouvent à une distance d’au moins 90 cm (3 pi) de l’avant du foyer et qu’ils ne sont pas en
contact avec les côtés de celui-ci.
NETTOYAGE DE LA GARNITURE
Nettoyez la garniture métallique à l’aide d’un linge doux légèrement humecté d’un produit à base d’huile
d’agrumes, puis polissez le métal à l’aide d’un linge sec. N’utilisez pas de produits pour polir le laiton ou
de nettoyants à usage domestique, car ces produits endommageront la garniture de métal. Vous
trouverez des produits à base d’huile d’agrumes dans les supermarchés ou les quincailleries.
REMPLACEMENT DES AMPOULES
Le foyer électrique nécessite trois ampoules à petit culot E12 de 120 volts et 40 watts, de couleur claire.
Les foyers encastrables ne nécessitent que deux ampoules à petit culot de 120 volts et 40 watts, de
couleur claire. Par souci de commodité, il est recommandé de changer toutes les ampoules quand l’une
d’entre elles est grillée.

2. Inclinez délicatement le verre et le cadre vers l’avant
de quelques centimètres. Retirez ensuite le tout en
tirant vers le haut (g. 2).
3. Trouvez les deux écrous de sûreté du lit de braises
situés des côtés droit et gauche de l’ensemble de
bûches. Ces écrous de sûreté ressemblent à des
tisons (g. 3).
4. Tournez les écrous dans le sens contraire des
aiguilles d’une montre pour les dévisser; retirez-les
et mettez-les de côté. Tenez fermement les bûches
situées sur les côtés gauche et droit et tirez le lit de
braises et de bûches vers le haut. Une fois le lit de
braises défait du support et des tiges letées, tirez
le lit de braises et de bûches vers l’avant pour le
sortir du foyer, et mettez-le de côté dans un endroit
sûr (g. 4).
1. Placez l’interrupteur principal en position d’arrêt
(« OFF ») puis débranchez le cordon d’alimentation
de la prise murale. Si le foyer était en fonction,
laissez-le refroidir pendant au moins deux heures.
Repérez les deux écrous situés sur le support
en verre, tournez-les dans le sens contraire des
aiguilles d’une montre an de desserrer le verre (g.
1).

5. Défaites les attaches à ressort des ampoules
et dévissez ces dernières (g. 5). Une fois les
ampoules remplacées, remettez en place les
attaches à ressort. Remplacez en même temps
toutes les ampoules E12 de 120 volts, 4 watts et de
couleur claire.
An de réinstaller le verre et le cadre sur le foyer
encastrable, suivez les étapes 1 à 4, mais dans
l’ordre inverse.

DÉPANNAGE
PROBLÉME CAUSE POSSIBLE MESURE CORRECTIVE
