SAFETY INFORMATION
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock and injury to persons, including the
following:
DANGER
• Read all instructions before using this heater.
• If the information in this manual is not followed
exactly, an electric shock or fire may result causing
property damage, personal injury or loss of life.
WARNING
• This appliance is hot when in use. To avoid burns,
DO NOT let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep
combustible material, such as furniture, pillows,
bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3
feet from this appliance and keep them away from
the sides and rear.
• Extreme caution is necessary when any heater
is used by or near children or individuals with
disabilities and whenever the fireplace is left
operating and unattended.
• DO NOT run cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover
cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings.
DO NOT route cord under furniture or appliances.
Arrange cord away from traffic areas and where it
will not be tripped over.
• DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter
any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may
cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the
appliance.
• This appliance has hot and arcing or sparking
parts inside. DO NOT use it in areas where
gasoline, paint or flammable vapors or liquids are
used or stored. This fireplace should not be used
as a drying rack for clothing. Christmas stockings
or decorations should not be hung in the area of it.
• Use this appliance only as described in the
manual. Any other use is NOT recommended by
the manufacturer and may cause fire, electric
shock or injury to persons.
CAUTION
• If possible, ALWAYS unplug this appliance when
not in use.
• DO NOT operate any heater with a damaged
cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions. DO
NOT operate any heater if it has been dropped
or damaged in any manner. Disconnect power
at service panel and have heater inspected by a
reputable electrician before reusing.
• Any repairs to this fireplace should be carried out
by a qualified service person.
• Under no circumstances should this fireplace be
modified. Parts having to be removed for servicing
must be replaced prior to operating this fireplace
again.
• DO NOT use outdoors.
• This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms,
laundry areas and similar indoor locations. NEVER
place heater where it may fall into a bathtub or
other water container.
• To disconnect this appliance, turn controls to the
off position, then remove plug from outlet.
• ONLY connect to properly grounded outlets.
• This appliance, when installed, must be electrically
grounded in accordance with local codes, with the
current CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code or
follow U.S.A. Installations, follow local codes and
the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA N0.70.
• To prevent a possible fire, DO NOT block air
intakes or exhaust in any manner. DO NOT use
on soft surfaces, like a bed, where opening may
become blocked.
• The heaters MUST NOT be located immediately
below a socket-outlet.
• ALWAYS plug heaters directly into a wall outlet /
receptacle. NEVER use with an extension cord or
re-loadable power tap (outlet / power strip).
• DO NOT slide insert on top of wood to avoid
scratching wood surface.
• DO NOT place any object on top of the insert or
block the air intakes/vents as this can cause the
unit to overheat and could cause a fire.

Electrical Connection
• A 15-Amp, 120-volt, 60 Hz circuit with a properly
grounded outlet is required. Preferably, the
fireplace will be on a dedicated circuit as other
appliances on the same circuit may cause the
circuit breaker to trip or the fuse to blow when the
heater is in operation. The unit comes standard
with 6-ft. three-wire cord, exiting from the rear of
the fireplace. DO NOT exceed the current rating of
the current tap.
Grounding Instructions
• This heater is for use on 120 volt. The cord has a
plug as shown below. See illustration or grounding
instruction. An adapter as shown at C is available
for connecting three-blade grounding type plugs
to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding plug
extending from the adapter must be connected to
a permanent ground such as a properly grounded
outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a
three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

PREPARATION
Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package
contents list and hardware contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to
assemble the product.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Control Panel Remote Control
AAA 1.5V
AAA 1.5V
To use the remote control, first insert two
AAA batteries (included) into the remote
control. Ensure the polarities of the
batteries match the inside of the battery
compartment.
Note: When the indicator lights are all on, there is no operation for 10 seconds, the machine enters the
blanking state, and the indicator lights are all off. Enter the blanking state. When any button is pressed again,
all the indicators will light up and display the state value or letter before blanking. If the button responds again
within 10 seconds, press the button to adjust the displayed corresponding function, 10 seconds blanking time
is reset.
Power Function
• Press the POWER ICON to turn the main power to the unit ON or OFF.
• The POWER ICON on the control panel and the remote control has the same highest priority
(compared to HEATER, FLAME).
• The POWER ICON has a memory function, its function is to memorize the current state (except
the timing function) and close all the functions that have been turned on. Press this button again to
restore the state set before turning off.
• If you use this key to turn off all the functions of the machine, you cannot turn on the machine by
pressing other keys.
• The digital tube displays the flame position by default when it is powered on: L4 high light.
Flame & Ember Bed Brightness Function
• Press the FLAME BRIGHTNESS ICON to adjust the flame and ember bed brightness at the same
time.
• Press the FLAME BRIGHTNESS ICON again to scroll down through the flame brightness settings:
L4-L3-L2-L1-OFF. In the OFF state, the flame ember bed goes out.
• The digital tube will display the corresponding value according to the user's setting, OFF does not
display.
• Brightness level: L4 (high light), L3 (medium light), L2 (low light), L1 (slightly light).
Heater Function
• Press HEATER ICON to turn on and off the heating function.
• When the HEATER is turned on and the temperature is displayed, press and hold the HEATER
ICON for 5 seconds to enter the temperature adjustment mode for temperature adjustment.
Note: This option is only available if using the control panel.
• Press and hold the POWER ICON for 5 seconds, the temperature unit will flash 3 times and then
you can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Note: This option is only available if using the control panel.

• Press and hold the HEATER ICON for 10 seconds to engage the heater function. Press and
hold the HEATER ICON for 10 seconds again to disengage the heater function. (See HEATER
OVERRIDE section below for more details).
Note: This option is only available if using the control panel.
• If the flame and ember bed brightness are off before the heating function is turned on, after turning
on the heat, the flame and ember bed brightness is slightly light on by default.
• When the heating function is turned on for the first time, the temperature unit is set to 82°F by
default.
Increase/Decrease Button
Note: This option is only available if using the remote control.
• Press the INCREASE/DECREASE button to adjust the heater’s thermostat setting.
• Press the INCREASE/DECREASE button again to scroll up through the pre-set temperature
settings: The thermostat setting range is 64°F (18°C) to 82ºF (27°C), ON. (FA is a fan function. The
fan works normally, but the heater does not work.)
• Set the temperature to “ON” to have the heater run continually.
Timer Function
• Press the TIMER ICON to set the countdown for the unit’s main power.
• Press the TIMER ICON again to scroll through the timer settings, which are: 1H, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H,
6H, 7H, 8H, OFF. (The default is 8H.).
• After setting the timer time, if you press POWER ICON, it will turn off the timer and enter standby.
HEATER OVERRIDE
The power to the heater can be disengaged to prevent the heater from being accidentally or unintentionally
powering on. This feature is primarily added to help prevent children from powering on the heater when it is
not desired.
• To enable the heater override function press and hold HEATER ICON for 10 seconds. The flame and ember
bed brightness will flash 6 times quickly, indicating that the lock is successful. When the heat is locked,
press the HEATER ICON, the ember bed brightness will flash 6 times to remind the user that the heat is
locked.
• To unlock the heater function, press and hold the HEATER ICON for 10 seconds. The flame and ember bed
brightness will flash 6 times quickly. The heater function is now engaged. By pressing the HEATER ICON
again you will be able to adjust the heat temperature to your desired temperature.
MEMORY FUNCTION
This unit has a memory function that allows you to turn off the MAIN POWER and retains all the other function
settings (excluding the TIMER function).
• When the unit’s main power is OFF, press the POWER ICON once on the insert control panel or on the
remote control to power the unit ON and “wake up” the individual function at the last setting. Press the icon
again to adjust it and press the main POWER ICON on the insert or on the remote control to turn the unit
OFF and save the new setting into memory.
• When the unit is powered ON, the LED readout will show the saved temperature setting. If a temperature
setting was not saved, it will show the flame brightness setting saved in memory. If neither one has a setting
saved to memory, then only the ember bed will glow (as a power light indicator).
• Another way to reset the memory is to unplug the unit from the wall.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Make sure the unit is turned OFF, unplugged and the heating elements of heater are cool whenever you are
cleaning the heater or fireplace.
• Clean the metal trim using a water-dampened soft, clean cloth. DO NOT use brass polish or household
cleaners as these products will damage the metal trim.
• The motors used on the fan and the flame generator assembly are pre-lubricated for extended bearing life
and require no further lubrication. However, periodic cleaning/vacuuming of the fan/heater and air intake/
output vents are recommended.
• When the heater is not in use, the power cord should be stored properly to avoid contact with hot or sharp
objects.
• Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
• Tips for using touch-up pen (AA): For scratches, stroke in direction of scratch. For worn areas, stroke in the
direction of wood grain. Rub excess colorant promptly with a soft cloth.
Replacing the Remote-Control Batteries
When the remote control (P) stops operating or its range
seems reduced, it is time to replace the batteries. Note:
The batteries should be removed if the product is to be left
unused for a long time.
1. The battery compartment is located on the back of the
remote control (P).
2. Remove battery cover from the back of remote control (P)
and remove the old batteries.
3. Insert 2pcs AAA batteries, ensuring the polarities of the
battery match the inside of the battery compartment.
4. Re-insert the battery door.

Note: Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon zinc), or rechargeable (nicad, nimh, etc.) batteries.
Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the
product.

Disposal of Used Battery
A battery may contain hazardous substances that could be endangering the environment and human health.
• This symbol marked on the battery and/or packaging indicates that used
battery shall not be treated as municipal waste. Instead it shall be left at
the appropriate collection point for recycling.
• By ensuring the used battery is disposed of correctly, you will help
prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human
health. The recycling of materials will help to conserve natural resources.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak.
For more information about collection and recycling of used batteries,
please contact your local municipality, your waste disposal service or the
point-of-sale where you purchased this battery.

No power; logs do not
glow.
The unit does not have

Check that the power cord is securely plugged into a
standard 120V outlet. Then check to make sure the unit is
powered on.

To unlock the heater, simply press and hold the temperature
button for 10 seconds (See page 8 Heater Override Section
for more details).

Normal operation. This is normal for a heater appliance as it requires more
current to operate. Check the connections of the appliance
cord and the outlet. Make sure the plug fits tightly into the
outlet. During use, check the plug and outlet frequently to
determine if it is HOT; if so, discontinue use of the appliance
and consult with a qualified electrician to check or change
the overheating outlet(s).
Remote control does
not work.
Weak or failing batteries. Replace with 2 AAA batteries (See page 9 for more
information.)
Remote control signal
is weak and only
works sometimes.
Pressing the buttons too

Press the buttons slowly and steadily to ensure the

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
The manufacturer warrants that your new electric fireplace is free from manufacturing and material
defects for a period of one year from date of purchase, subject to the following conditions and
limitations.
Install and operate this electric fireplace in accordance with the installation and operating instructions
furnished with the product at all times. Any unauthorized repair, alteration, willful abuse, accident, or
misuse of the product shall nullify this warranty.
This warranty is non-transferable, and is made to the original owner, provided that the purchase was
made through an authorized supplier of the product.
The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of part(s) found to be defective in material or
workmanship, provided that such part(s) have been subjected to normal conditions of use and service,
after said defect is confirmed by the manufacturer’s inspection.
The manufacturer may, at its discretion, fully discharge all obligations with respect to this warranty by
refunding the wholesale price of the defective part(s).
Any installation, labor, construction, transportation, or other related costs/expenses arising from
defective part(s), repair, replacement, or otherwise of same, will not be covered by this warranty, nor
shall the manufacturer assume responsibility for same.
The owner/user assumes all other risks, if any, including the risk of any direct, indirect or consequential
loss or damage arising out of the use, or inability to use the product, except as provided by law.
All other warranties-expressed or implied-with respect to the product, its components and accessories,
or any obligations/liabilities on the part of the manufacturer are hereby expressly excluded.
The manufacturer neither assumes, nor authorizes any third party to assume on its behalf, any other
liabilities with respect to the sale of the product.
The warranties as outlined within this document do not apply to non-accessories used in conjunction
with the installation of this product.
This warranty is void if:
1.The fireplace is subjected to prolonged periods of dampness or condensation.
2.Any unauthorized alteration, willful abuse, accident, or misuse of the product.
3.You do not have the original receipt of purchase.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ
CONSIGNES IMPORTANTES
Lorsque vous utilisez un appareil électrique, respectez
les mesures de sécurité élémentaires suivantes afin
de réduire les risques d’incendie, de choc électrique
et de blessure :

• Lisez toutes les directives avant d’utiliser ce
radiateur.
• Respectez scrupuleusement les directives du
présent manuel pour prévenir les chocs électriques
ou les incendies pouvant causer des dommages
ainsi que des blessures graves ou mortelles.
AVERTISSEMENT
• Cet appareil est chaud lorsqu’il est en fonction.
Afin d’éviter les brûlures, ne touchez PAS aux
surfaces chaudes. Assurez-vous que les matières
combustibles comme les meubles, les oreillers,
la literie, le papier, les vêtements et les rideaux
se trouvent à une distance d’au moins 0,91 m de
l’appareil et qu’elles n’entrent pas en contact avec
les côtés et l’arrière de l’appareil.

• N’insérez JAMAIS un objet, quel qu’il soit, dans
les ouvertures de ventilation ou de sortie d’air de
l’appareil afin de prévenir les dommages ainsi que
les risques de choc électrique et d’incendie.
• Cet appareil renferme des pièces chaudes qui

ATTENTION

• Cet appareil n’est pas conçu pour être utilisé dans
une salle de bains, une salle de lavage ou tout autre
endroit humide semblable. Ne placez JAMAIS le
radiateur dans un endroit où il pourrait tomber dans
une baignoire ou dans un autre contenant rempli
d’eau.
• Pour débrancher cet appareil, tournez les
commandes en position d’arrêt, puis retirez la fiche
de la prise.
• Branchez UNIQUEMENT la fiche sur une prise
correctement mise à la terre.
• Lors de l’installation, veillez à ce que l’appareil soit
mis à la terre conformément aux codes locaux,
à la plus récente version du Code canadien
de l’électricité CSA C22.1 ou, dans le cas des
installations aux États-Unis, aux codes locaux et au
code national de l’électricité, ANSI/NFPA NO 70.
• Afin de prévenir les risques d’incendie, ne bloquez
JAMAIS les ouvertures de ventilation ou de sortie

sorties d’air, car cela pourrait causer une surchauffe
de l’appareil et provoquer un incendie.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ (SUITE)
Branchement électrique
• Un circuit de 15 A, 120 V, 60 Hz avec une prise
correctement mise à la terre est nécessaire.
De préférence, le foyer sera branché sur un
circuit dédié, sachant que la présence d’autres
appareils sur le même circuit peut provoquer le
déclenchement du disjoncteur ou la coupure du
fusible lorsque le radiateur fonctionne. Le foyer est
muni d’un cordon trifilaire de 1,82 m qui se trouve
à l’arrière du foyer. Ne dépassez PAS le courant
nominal de la prise de courant.
Instructions pour la mise à la terre
• Ce radiateur est destiné à être utilisé à une
tension de 120 volts. Le cordon est doté d’une
prise comme illustré ci-dessous. Consultez
l’illustration ou les instructions de mise à la terre.
Un adaptateur comme celui montré en C est
disponible pour connecter des fiches de mise

PRÉPARATION
Avant de commencer l’assemblage du produit, assurez-vous d’avoir toutes les pièces en main.
Comparez les pièces dont vous disposez avec la liste du contenu de l’emballage et celle de la
quincaillerie incluse. S’il y a des pièces manquantes ou endommagées, ne tentez pas d’assembler le
produit.

MODE D’EMPLOI
Panneau de commande Télécommande
AAA 1.5V
AAA 1.5V
Pour utiliser la télécommande, insérez
d’abord deux piles AAA (comprises) dans
la télécommande. Assurez-vous que les
polarités des piles correspondent aux
indications à l’intérieur du compartiment à
piles.
Remarque : Lorsque tous les voyants sont allumés, aucune opération n’est effectuée pendant 10 secondes,
l’appareil passe à l’état de suppression et tous les voyants sont éteints. Passage à l’état de suppression.
Lorsqu’une touche est de nouveau enfoncée, tous les voyants s’allument et affichent la valeur ou la lettre de
l’état avant la suppression. Si le bouton répond de nouveau dans les 10 secondes, appuyez sur le bouton pour
régler la fonction correspondante affichée, le temps de suppression de 10 secondes est réinitialisé.
Fonction d’alimentation
• Appuyez sur l’ICÔNE D’ALIMENTATION pour allumer ou éteindre l’appareil.
• L’ICÔNE D’ALIMENTATION sur le panneau de commande et la télécommande ont la même priorité
la plus élevée (par rapport à RADIATEUR, FLAMME).
• L’ICÔNE D’ALIMENTATION a une fonction de mémoire; sa fonction est de mémoriser l’état actuel
(sauf la fonction de minuterie) et de désactiver toutes les fonctions qui ont été activées. Appuyez
sur ce bouton de nouveau pour rétablir l’état défini de l’appareil avant que celui-ci ne soit éteint.
• Si vous utilisez cette touche pour désactiver toutes les fonctions de l’appareil, vous ne pourrez pas
mettre ce dernier sous tension en appuyant sur d’autres touches.
• Le tube numérique affiche la position de la flamme par défaut lors de sa mise sous tension : L4
intensité élevée.
Fonction d’intensité de la amme et du lit de braises
• Appuyez sur l’ICÔNE DE LUMINOSITÉ DE LA FLAMME pour régler simultanément la luminosité
de la flamme et du lit de braises.
• Appuyez de nouveau sur l’ICÔNE D’INTENSITÉ DE LA FLAMME pour faire défiler les paramètres
d’intensité de la flamme : L4-L3-L2-L1-OFF (arrêt). À l’état d’arrêt, le lit de braises de flammes
s’éteint.
• Le tube numérique affichera la valeur correspondante en fonction du réglage de l’utilisateur; OFF
(arrêt) ne s’affiche pas.
• Niveau de luminosité : L4 (intensité élevée), L3 (intensité moyenne), L2 (intensité faible),
L1 (intensité très faible).
Fonction de chauffage
• Appuyez sur ICÔNE DE CHAUFFAGE pour activer ou désactiver la fonction de chauffage.
• Lorsque le CHAUFFAGE est allumé et que la température est affichée, appuyez sur l’ICÔNE DE
CHAUFFAGE et maintenez-la enfoncée pendant 5 secondes pour accéder au mode de réglage de
la température et régler celle-ci.
Remarque : Cette option n’est disponible que si vous utilisez le panneau de commande.
• Appuyez sur l’ICÔNE D’ALIMENTATION et maintenez-la enfoncée pendant 5 secondes, l’unité de
température clignotera 3 fois, après quoi vous pourrez basculer entre Fahrenheit et Celsius.
Remarque : Cette option n’est disponible que si vous utilisez le panneau de commande.

MODE D’EMPLOI (SUITE)
• Pour activer la fonction de radiateur, appuyez sur l’ICÔNE DE CHAUFFAGE et maintenez-la
enfoncée pendant 10 secondes. Pour désactiver la fonction de radiateur, appuyez sur l’ICÔNE DE
CHAUFFAGE et maintenez-la de nouveau enfoncée pendant 10 secondes. (Reportez-vous à la
section INTERRUPTION DU RADIATEUR ci-dessous pour obtenir plus de détails.)
Remarque : Cette option n’est disponible que si vous utilisez le panneau de commande.
• Si avant l’activation de la fonction de chauffage, la flamme et la luminosité du lit de braises sont
désactivées, alors, après que le chauffage a été activé, la flamme et le lit de braises présenteront,
par défaut, une légère luminosité.
• Lorsque la fonction de chauffage est activée pour la première fois, l’unité de température est réglée
sur 27 °C par défaut.
Bouton de réglage (augmentation et diminution)
Remarque : Cette option n’est disponible que si vous utilisez la télécommande.
• Appuyez sur le bouton de RÉGLAGE (augmentation et diminution) pour régler le thermostat du
radiateur.
• Appuyez de nouveau sur le bouton de RÉGLAGE pour faire défiler les réglages de température
préréglés : la plage de réglages du thermostat est de 18 °C (64 °F) à 27 °C (82 °F), ON (marche).
(FA est une fonction de ventilation. Le ventilateur fonctionne normalement, mais le radiateur ne
fonctionne pas.)
• Réglez la température à « ON » (marche) pour que le radiateur fonctionne continuellement.
Fonction de minuterie
• Appuyez sur l’ICÔNE DE MINUTERIE pour régler le compte à rebours de la mise hors tension de
l’appareil.
• Appuyez de nouveau sur l’ICÔNE DE MINUTERIE pour faire défiler les réglages de la minuterie,
qui sont : 1H, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, 6H, 7H, 8H, OFF (arrêt). (La valeur par défaut est 8H.)
• Si vous appuyez sur l’ICÔNE D’ALIMENTATION après avoir réglé l’heure de la minuterie, cette
dernière s’éteindra et passera en mode veille.
INTERRUPTION DU RADIATEUR
L’alimentation du radiateur peut être coupée afin d’éviter que celui-ci soit mis sous tension de façon
accidentelle ou non intentionnelle. Cette fonction est principalement ajoutée dans le but d’empêcher les
enfants d’allumer le radiateur lorsqu’il ne le faut pas.
• Pour activer la fonction d’interruption du radiateur, appuyez sur l’ICÔNE DE CHAUFFAGE et maintenez-la
enfoncée pendant 10 secondes. La luminosité de la flamme et celle du lit de braises clignoteront 6 fois
rapidement, indiquant que le verrouillage a été effectué. Lorsque la fonction de radiateur est verrouillée,
appuyez sur l’ICÔNE DE CHAUFFAGE, la luminosité du lit de braises clignotera 6 fois pour rappeler à
l’utilisateur que la fonction de radiateur est verrouillée
• Pour déverrouiller la fonction de radiateur, maintenez l’ICÔNE DE CHAUFFAGE enfoncée pendant
10 secondes. La luminosité de la flamme et celle du lit de braises clignoteront 6 fois rapidement. La fonction
de radiateur est maintenant activée. Enfoncez de nouveau l’ICÔNE DE CHAUFFAGE pour régler la
température du radiateur à la température souhaitée.
MÉMOIRE
Cette unité est dotée d’une mémoire qui vous permet de mettre l’appareil HORS TENSION et de conserver
tous les autres réglages (sauf la fonction de MINUTERIE).
• Lorsque l’appareil est hors tension, appuyez une fois sur l’ICÔNE D’ALIMENTATION du panneau de
commande du foyer encastrable ou de la télécommande pour allumer l’unité et « remettre en fonction » le
dernier réglage seulement. Appuyez de nouveau sur l’icône pour régler l’appareil et appuyez sur l’ICÔNE
D’ALIMENTATION principale sur le foyer encastrable ou sur la télécommande pour mettre l’appareil hors
tension et enregistrer le nouveau paramètre dans la mémoire.
• Lorsque l’appareil est sous tension, l’affichage à DEL indique le réglage de température enregistré. Si aucun
réglage de température n’a été enregistré, l’affichage à DEL indique le réglage d’intensité de la flamme
enregistré dans la mémoire. Si aucun réglage n’est enregistré dans la mémoire pour ces fonctions, seul le lit
de braises scintille (à titre de voyant d’alimentation).
• Une autre façon de réinitialiser la mémoire est de débrancher l’appareil de la prise murale.
