OWNER’S GUIDE
Please read the following instructions carefully.
Keep this instruction manual and save for future reference.
Tools required (not included): Phillips-head screwdriver and
power drill, 7/32" drill bit may be needed.
For use with children from 6 - 24 months.
Keep small parts away from children.
Adult assembly required.
Fits openings from 29" - 42" wide.

Children have died or been seriously injured when gates are not securely installed.
• ALWAYS install and use gates as directed using all required parts. Install according to manufacturer’s instructions.
• STOP using when a child can climb over or dislodge the gate.
• Use only with the locking/latching mechanism securely engaged.
•NEVER use a gate to keep child away from pool.
•NEVER leave child unattended.
• ALWAYS close and lock the gate behind you.
• This product will not necessarily prevent all accidents. Proper adult supervision is required at all times.

Twist the base onto
the support foot (part C).
Using the
Support Foot Fasteners (parts J),
attach the support
foot to the bottom
of the gate.

IMPORTANT: This instruction booklet
illustrates Top of Stairs gate installation
(you may also install the gate between
rooms).
For TOP OF STAIRS:
You must install one of the included Upper
One-Directional Stoppers (part G). This
step is covered on page 9.
Make sure to position the gate a minimum of
3-6 inches (8-15cm) away from the top step.
For HALLWAY or DOORWAY
installation, the stoppers are optional.
STEP 1: Assemble the Support Foot

Slide both Hinge Brackets
(parts D) into slots in

top of the template.
2. Slide the Lower Hinge
Bracket from the Baseboard
Extension Kit (Part I) into the
bottom of the template.

IMPORTANT: If mounting into
plaster or drywall, use wall
anchors. Using a 7/32" drill bit,
drill a pilot hole into the wall,
then insert wall anchors prior to
mounting hardware.

Hold the template
against the wall. Make
sure the bottom of
the template is
touching the floor.
With the template in
place, attach the Upper
and Lower Hinge Brackets
with the screws
provided (parts K).

Tighten the
upper and
lower hinge nuts.

Support Foot so
it gently contacts
the floor when
the gate is closed
and locked.

Slide the Upper (E) & Lower (F)
Gate Latches onto the Gate.
Extend the Gate fully to the wall.
STEP 4: Attaching the Gate Latches

stopping just short
of the opposite wall.

Hold the Upper (E) and
Lower (F) Latches in place.
With a pencil, mark the
screw holes in the latches.

IMPORTANT:
FOR TOP OF STAIRS INSTALLATION:
Two Upper One-Directional Stoppers are included with this gate. Install
the Stopper that prevents the door from opening over the stairs.
Gate should never open over the stairs.

to the top of the gate, with
the Short Screw (Part K).

install the door stopper
when using at the top of
stairs!

• Check all hardware to ensure gate is securely in place.
• Do not use gate if any of the components are damaged or missing.
• Surface clean with a damp cloth or sponge, using mild detergent and warm water. Towel dry.
Swing gate open 90 degrees (until it is perpendicular to opening) and lift gate out of hinge brackets.

opening and closing the gate
To close and lock the gate: Slide the door closed until the
handle clicks into the latch.
To open and unlock the gate: Press the release
buttons on both sides of the door handle and slide open.
