De Sunshower Deluxe Health heeft een maximaal vermogen van 2250 W. Sluit
geen andere zware elektrische apparatuur aan op dezelfde groep als uw Sunshower.
Het apparaat moet worden aangesloten op een groep die is beveiligd met een
zekering van 16A.
• Controleer of het voltage (230 V) overeenkomt met de plaatselijke netspanning
voordat u het apparaat aansluit.
• Let erop dat u voor montage en aansluiting de betreffende zekering in de
zekeringkast eruit draait (of de hoofdschakelaar deactiveert).
Zorg dat de aansluiting van de unit geschiedt volgens de plaatselijk geldende
voorschriften en volgens NEN 1010 (internationaal IEC 60364).

BELANGRIJK
Wanneer mag u geen gebruik maken van de Sunshower?
Dit product is niet geschikt voor mensen met verminderde fysieke, sensorische of mentale
capaciteiten, of kennis en ervaring, tenzij zij onder toezicht staan of instructies hebben
meegekregen over het gebruik van het product door iemand die verantwoordelijk is voor
hun veiligheid.
Jongeren onder de 18 jaar mogen het apparaat niet gebruiken.
Gebruik het apparaat niet als u een ziekte heeft en/of medicijnen, cosmetica of douche-
producten gebruikt die de gevoeligheid van uw huid vergroten. Wees extra voorzichtig als u
overgevoelig bent voor UV straling. Raadpleeg in geval van twijfel uw arts.
Dit apparaat mag niet worden gebruikt door mensen bij wie, bij blootstelling aan de zon,
de huid verbrandt zonder bruin te worden, door mensen met een roodverbrande huid,
mensen die als kind vaak zijn verbrand, mensen die worden behandeld aan een ziekte waar
lichtgevoeligheid bij hoort, mensen die medicatie krijgen waardoor zij lichtgevoelig worden,
door mensen die lijden aan (of hebben geleden aan) huidkanker of die hier vatbaar voor zijn
of door mensen waarbij melanomen in de naaste familie voorkomen.
Dit apparaat mag niet worden gebruikt door mensen met sproeten en/of rood haar, door
mensen die meer dan 16 moedervlekken van 2 mm of groter op hun lichaam hebben en
door mensen met asymmetrische moedervlekken die groter zijn dan 5 mm in doorsnee met
wisselende pigmentatie en onregelmatige randen. Als u twijfelt, raadpleeg dan uw arts.
Gebruik de Sunshower niet en raadpleeg uw arts als er binnen 48 uur na de eerste sessie
onverwachte effecten zoals jeuk optreden.
Tijdens gebruik van de Sunshower moeten andere personen, vooral kinderen, niet aanwezig
zijn.
Raadpleeg uw arts als er hardnekkige knobbels of zweren op uw huid ontstaan of als zich
veranderingen voordoen in gepigmenteerde moedervlekken.
Gebruik het apparaat nooit als het UV-filterglas beschadigd is of volledig ontbreekt.
Als het bedieningspaneel defect is, mag het apparaat niet gebruikt worden.
Waarschuwingen:
• Voorkom te lange blootstelling. Houd u aan de aanbevolen bruiningstijden en het maximale
aantal bruiningsuren.
Netalsbij natuurlijk zonlicht, kante langeblootstelling oog-en huidbeschadigingenen allergische
reacties veroorzaken. Herhaaldelijke blootstelling kan mogelijk leiden tot verbranding van de
huid, vervroegde veroudering van de huid en huidkanker. Deze biologische effecten hangen
af van de kwaliteit en de kwantiteit van de straling en van de gevoeligheid van de huid van
de gebruiker.
• De risico’s nemen toe bij veelvuldig gebruik.
• Blootstelling op jonge leeftijd vergroot het risico op huid beschadiging op latere leeftijd.
• Draag oogbescherming. Wanneer dit achterwege wordt gelaten kan dit leiden tot ontstekingen
aan de ogen wat kan resulteren in blijvende beschadigingen aan de ogen, zoals beschadiging
aan het netvlies en uiteindelijk staar.
• Bescherm gevoelige delen van de huid, zoals littekens, tatoeages en de genitaliën.
• Medicijngebruik, doucheproducten of cosmetica kunnen de gevoeligheid voor de UV-straling
verhogen. Sommige medische toestanden en bijwerkingen van medicijnen kunnen worden
versterkt door UV-straling.
• Raadpleeg voor gebruik uw arts wanneer u medicijnen gebruikt, al eerder huidproblemen
heeft gehad of als u erg gevoelig bent voor zonlicht.

GEBRUIK
Bruinen en uw gezondheid
Net als bij gewoon zonlicht heeft het bruiningsproces bij gebruik van de Sunshower wat
tijd nodig. De eerste resultaten worden pas na een paar sessies zichtbaar. Overmatige
blootstelling aan ultraviolet licht, of dat nu geproduceerd wordt door de zon of door
een bruiningsapparaat, kan zonnebrand veroorzaken. Naast vele andere factoren,
zoals overmatige blootstelling aan natuurlijk zonlicht, kan onjuist en overmatig gebruik
van een bruiningsapparaat het risico van huid- en oogaandoeningen vergroten. Hoe
vaker de huid en de ogen worden blootgesteld aan UV-licht, hoe groter de kans
op hoornvliesontsteking, bindvliesontsteking, beschadiging van het netvlies, staar,
vroegtijdige veroudering van de huid en de ontwikkeling van huidkanker. Bepaalde
medicijnen en cosmetica vergroten de gevoeligheid van de huid. De mate waarin deze
effecten optreden wordt aan de ene kant bepaald door de aard, de intensiteit en de
duur van de blootstelling en aan de andere kant door de gevoeligheid van de persoon
in kwestie.
Bruinen met de Sunshower
De Sunshower is geschikt voor frequent gebruik, maar houdt u wel rekening met het
maximum aantal bruiningsuren per jaar (25 uur per lichaamsdeel). Houdt u zich aan
de aanbevolen tijden per huidtype, per lichaamsdeel (voorkant of achterkant lichaam).
Indien uw huid rood wordt na een sessie, dient u af te zien van verdere blootstelling
aan UV en week rust te nemen.
Mensen met een blanke huid worden in vier huidtypen onderverdeeld:
1. zeer gevoelig: verbrandt snel en wordt niet bruin. Gebruik de Sunshower niet.
2. gevoelige huid: verbrandt snel, wordt langzaam bruin
3. normale huid: verbrandt zelden, wordt gemakkelijk bruin
4. minder gevoelige huid: verbrandt bijna nooit, bruint zeer goed
Een bruiningskuur voor een lichaamsdeel duurt 8 tot 15 sessies, afhankelijk van het
resultaat dat u verlangt. Wacht altijd 48u na de eerste sessie, voordat u met de tweede
sessie begint. Bepaal de bruiningstijd aan de hand van onderstaande tabel:

Let bij het gebruik op het volgende:
• Ontdoe uw huid geruime tijd voor de bruiningssessie van crèmes, lippenstift en
andere cosmetica.
Draag tijdens het bruinen altijd de beschermbril die bij de Sunshower geleverd is om
uw ogen tegen te hoge doses zichtbaar, UV- en infraroodlicht te beschermen.
• Houdt u aan de voorgeschreven bruiningsafstand van 45 cm voor een homogeen
bruiningsveld. Voor een mooie egale bruine huid dient u uw lichaam ten opzichte
van de Sunshower te draaien.
• Voorkom dat andere personen tijdens gebruik in het licht van de Sunshower kijken
in verband met de kans op beschadigingen aan ogen.
• Gebruik geen crèmes of lotions die bedoeld zijn om uw huid tegen zonnebrand te
beschermen.
• Raak de glasplaat niet aan tijdens of kort na gebruik. Dit kan warm worden.
Indien u na het douchen verder wilt bruinen droogt u zich dan wel eerst af.
Infrarood en uw gezondheid
Sunshower hanteert IR lampen met een compleet IR spectrum, maar met een optimum
in het korte golf gebied. Deze straling kan diep in de huid doordringen (tot een diepte
van 5mm). Dit leidt tot een effectieve en optimale verwarming van het lichaam.
Schadelijke stoffen worden sneller afgevoerd, bloedvaten verwijden en spieren worden
eerder soepel om zodoende betere prestaties te kunnen leveren. Deze lampen zijn bij
voorkeur geschikt om rechtstreeks uw nek, rug en schouders kortstondig te behandelen.
De maximaal instelbare tijd is minder dan tien minuten, waardoor de kans op eventuele
oververhitting van het lichaam zeer gering is.
Infraroodsessie met de sunshower
Een IR sessie kunt u zo vaak doen als u wilt. Let hierbij op het volgende:
voorkom dat u het te warm krijgt. Ga indien nodig verder van de Sunshower af
staan.

Sessie starten (IR of UV)

Zorg dat u ca. 45 cm van de Sunshower staat en de UV bril draagt.
Druk op de START toets
Selecteer met de SELECT toets infrarood (IR) of ultraviolette straling (UV)
Stel de tijd in met de + en - toets (max. 10 minuten)
Druk nogmaals op de START toets: de lampen gaan gedurende de ingestelde tijd
aan.
Één minuut voor het eindigen van de bruiningssessie zal de Sunshower een signaal
geven.
Wanneer u op de STOP toets drukt beëindigt u de sessie voortijdig.
De Sunshower zal na uitschakeling nakoelen voordat deze weer gebruikt kan worden.
De koeltijd wordt knipperend weergegeven.

Klok instellen en testen
Hieronder ziet u het bedieningspaneel van de Sunshower.
Stel de klok als volgt in:
Houdt 5 seconden lang de SELECT toets ingedrukt.
De cijfers van de klok knipperen
Gebruik de + en de - toets om de uren in te stellen
Druk kort op de SELECT toets om naar de minuten te gaan
Gebruik de + en de - toets om de minuten in te stellen
Als u de klok naar tevredenheid heeft ingevuld, druk dan op de SELECT knop.
De klok is ingesteld en daarmee is de installatie voltooid.
Controleer of de Sunshower aangaat: druk 2x op START. De IR lampen gaan aan.
Druk vervolgens op STOP, de lampen gaan uit en de Sunshower gaat 4 minuten
afkoelen.
Controleer daarna de UV lampen: doe de UV bril op en selecteer met de SELECT
toets UV. Druk vervolgens op start. De UV lampen starten op. Druk weer op STOP
om de sessie te beëindigen.
De Sunshower is nu gereed voor gebruik.

REINIGING EN ONDERHOUD
De buitenkant van de Sunshower is het enige gedeelte dat door gebruikers gereinigd mag
worden.
• De Sunshower mag alleen handmatig gereinigd worden.
• Gebruik nooit een hogedrukspuit om de Sunshower te reinigen.
• Sunshower niet reinigen wanneer het apparaat aan staat.
Gebruik milde reinigingsmiddelen voor de Sunshower: glasreiniger of “allesreiniger”kunnen
het glas aantasten en dof maken. Er bestaat een speciaal onderhoudspakket voor de
Sunshower. Dit pakket bestaat uit een milde reiniger en een protector, die de Sunshower
beschermt tegen kalkaanslag.
VERVANGING VAN DE LAMPEN
De UV output van de bruiningslampen neemt af in de loop de tijd (dit gebeurt bij
normaal gebruik na enige jaren). De levensduur van de Philips HPA Cleo Swift 250-
500 is 750 uur. Na 600 branduren geeft het bedieningspaneel de code “LA” weer, dit
betekent dat de capaciteit van de lampen zo ver teruggelopen dat het raadzaam is deze
te vervangen. U kunt gewoon gebruik blijven maken van de Sunshower.
Laat de lampen (Philips HPA Cleo Swift 250-500) vervangen door Sunshower. LET OP:
indien andere lampen of glasplaten worden gebruikt, beïnvloedt dit de UV straling. Het is
niet toegestaan om de lampen zelf te vervangen, door het openen van de Sunshower vervalt
de garantie.
De IR lampen (USHIO 500 W) hebben een zeer lange levensduur van 2000 uur en
gaan nauwelijks achteruit in prestaties. Ze dienen alleen vervangen te worden als ze in
het geheel niet meer werken.
GARANTIE & SERVICE
U heeft 2 jaar garantie op de Sunshower Deluxe Health. Een correct uitgevoerde installatie
in combinatie met uw aankoopbewijs geven recht op garantie. De bruiningslampen en
de infraroodlampen vallen niet onder de voorwaarden van de internationale garantie.
Sunshower is enkel verantwoordelijk voor product- en designgebreken. Sunshower kan
niet verantwoordelijk worden gehouden voor consequenties van onzorgvuldig gebruik
van dit product of voor de consequenties van het overtreden van lokale regels. Bij
schade die wordt veroorzaakt door het niet in acht nemen van deze gebruiksaanwijzing,
vervalt het recht op garantie. Voor materiële schade of persoonlijk letsel, veroorzaakt
door ondeskundig gebruik of het niet in acht nemen van de veiligheidsinstructies, zijn
wij niet aansprakelijk. In dergelijke gevallen vervalt de garantie.

FOUTMELDINGEN
Het display kan 2 foutmeldingen weergeven: Er en LA.:
1. Er:Temperatuur/ glasafsluiting foutmelding
De glasplaat is gebroken of verwijderd, of de Sunshower is te heet geworden. Schakel
de Sunshower volledig uit door in de meterkast de bijbehorende aardlekschakelaar uit
te zetten en neem contact op met uw leverancier of met Sunshower: www.sunshower.
nl.
LET OP: Als de glasplaat niet meer aanwezig is, is de Sunshower niet meer waterdicht!
Schakel de stroomtoevoer naar de Sunshower af in de meterkast en
gebruik niet de douche om elektrische schokken te voorkomen!
2. LA: UV lampen vervangen
Na 600 branduren geeft het bedieningspaneel de code “LA” weer, dit betekent dat de
capaciteit van de lampen zo ver teruggelopen dat het raadzaam is deze te vervangen.
U kunt gewoon gebruik blijven maken van de Sunshower. Zie ook het hoofdstuk
VERVANGING VAN DE LAMPEN.
Overige storingen
Sunshower start niet goed op bij UV sessie
Als de UV lampen nog warm zijn van een UV (of IR) sessie, kunnen ze niet direct
weer opgestart worden. Het is daarom belangrijk dat de Sunshower de koelperiode na
een sessie helemaal afmaakt, ook na een IR sessie. Is dit niet het geval, wacht dan 15
minuten voordat u weer met een UV sessie begint.
Sunshower valt uit tijdens UV sessie
De gasontladingslampen zijn gevoelig voor dips in de netspanning (langer dan 10ms),
waardoor de Sunshower kan uitvallen tijdens een UV sessie. Als dit gebeurt, druk dan
op de Stop knop en laat de UV lampen afkoelen. Als de koelperiode is afgelopen kan
de sessie hervat worden.
VERWIJDERING
Elektrische en elektronische producten mogen niet via het normale huisvuil worden
verwijderd. Verwijder het onbruikbaar geworden product volgens de geldende wettelijke
voorschriften.

INSTALLATION
Warning

De Sunshower Deluxe Health has a power consumption of 2250 Watt. Do not
connect any heavy current using equitpment to the same circuit.
The Sunshower must be connected to a (preferably separate) circuit that is protected
with a 16A residual current device (RCD).
Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance (230 V) corresponds to the mains
voltage in your home before you connect the appliance.
• Take the main fuse out of your fuse box (in the case of screw locks/ automats) or
switch off the main fuse before starting with the installation.
Ensure that all the electrical connections and connection cables between the various
devices and any extension cables comply with regulations and also comply with the
operating instructions.

IMPORTANT
When can you not use the Sunshower?
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instructions concerning use off the appliance by person responsible for their safety.
• The Sunshower is not to be used for persons under the age of 18.
• Do not use the system if you are ill and/or are taking medicine or using cosmetics or shower
products that increase the sensitivity of your skin. Be extra careful if you are oversensitive to
UV radiation. Consult your doctor if in doubt.
• This appliance is not to be used by people who get sunburnt without tanning when exposed
to the sun, by persons who suffer from sunburn, persons having a history of frequent
severe sunburn during childhood, persons under a doctor’s care for deseases that invlove
photosensitivity, persons receiving photosensitizing medications, by persons who suffer (or
have previously suffered) from skin cancer or who are predisposed to skin cancer, and by
persons with first degree relatives with a history of melanoma.
• This appliance is not to be used by persons with natural red hair and/or who tend to freckle,
who have more than 16 moles, 2 mm in diameter, who have asymmetrical moles larger than
5mm in diameter with variable pigmentation and irregular borders and by persons who have
abnormal discoulered patches on the skin. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

WARNING:

• The risks increase with increasing cumulative UV exposure.
• Exposure at an early age increase the risk of skin damage later in life.
• Wear protective eyewear; the unprotected eye may develop surface inflammation and in some
cases damage may occur to the retina after excessive exposure. Cataracts may develop after
many repeated exposures.
• Protect sensitive skin parts such as scars, tattoos and genitals from exposure.
• Medications, shower products or cosmetics may increase your sensitivity to the ultraviolet
radiation. Certain medical conditions or side effects of certain medicines may be aggravated by
ultraviolet exposure. In case of doubt seek medical advice.
• In case of pronounced individual sensitivity or allergic reaction to ultraviolet radiation, medical
advice recommended before starting exposure.
• If you do not tan in the sun, you are unlikely to tan from the use of this product.

USE OF THE SUNSHOWER
Tanning and your health
Just as with normal sunlight, the tanning process with the Sunshower takes time. The first
results are only visible after a few sessions. Excessive exposure to ultraviolet light, whether
produced by the sun or by a tanning system, can cause sunburns. Besides many other factors
like excessive exposure to natural sunlight, incorrect and excessive use of a tanning system
can increase the risk of skin and eye complaints.The more the skin and the eyes are exposed
to UV light, the higher the risk of keratitis, conjunctivitis, damage to the retina, cataracts,
premature skin ageing and the development of skin tumours will be. The degree to which
these effects occur are on the one hand determined by the nature, intensity and the duration
of the exposure and on the other hand by the sensitivity of the person in question
Tanning with the Sunshower
The Sunshower is suitable for frequent use, but keep in mind you may not exceed the
maximum number of tanning hours per year (25 hour per body part). Keep to the prescribed
tanning time that depends on your skin type (see table). If skin reddening appears hours after
any exposure, cease any exposure. After one week you can start the course again from the
beginning.
1. White skin, easily burns, never tans. Do not use the Sunshower.
2. Sensitive light skin, rarely tans, burns more often
3. Light skin, tans more, burns equally
4. Light dark skin, tans more than burns
A course takes a 8 to 15 sessions. Do not take more than one tanning session a day. Take a
break of at least 48 hours between the first and the second session.
Please mind the following when using the Sunshower:
• Keep to the recommended tanning times and the maximum number of tanning hours
a year. Do not expose yourself to excessive natural sunlight on the same day.
• Remove creams, lipstick and other cosmetics from your skin well before the tanning
sessions.
• Always wear the protective glasses that are supplied with the Sunshower when tanning
to protect your eyes against excessive doses of visible light, UV-light and infrared light.
Contact lenses and sun glasses are not a substitute for goggles.

Please mind the following when using the Sunshower (continued):
• Maintain the prescribed tanning distance of 45 cm for a homogenous tanning field. To
get a beautiful even tan, turn your body relative to the Sunshower.
• Prevent other people from looking directly at the Sunshower during use in connection
with the risk of damaging their eyes.
• Do not use any creams or lotions that are intended to protect your skin against
sunburn.
• Do not touch the filter glass during or shortly after use. It may get hot.
• Dry yourself immediately if you want to continue tanning after showering.
Infrared and your health
Sunshower uses IR lamps with a full IR spectrum, but optimum operation is with short
waves. These IR rays have a deep reach, penetrating the skin to a depth of up to 5 mm.
This warms the body optimally and efficiently. Harmful materials are expelled more
quickly, blood vessels expand and the muscles become more flexible so as to improve
performance.These lamps were designed to focus on the neck, back and shoulders.The
lamps reach their full heat capacity very quickly after being switched on, so no time or
energy is wasted. The maximum length of a session with the IR lamps is less than ten
minutes, so the chances of the body overheating are very low. Besides, this is enough
time for you to benefit from the relaxing and restorative effects of infrared during and
after showering.
Using the IR function of the Sunshower
You can take an IR session as often as you want. Please mind the following:
Prevent overheating of your body. If necessary, increase the distance to the
Sunshower.
Do not stare into the IR lamps
Starting a session (IR or UV)
An overview of the control panel can be seen at page 18.
• position yourself approximately 45 cm of the Sunshower
• Press the START button
• Use the SELECT button to select IR or UV
• Select the length of the treatment with the + and the – buttons.
• Press the START button again: the lamps are switched on during the time set.
• The Sunshower will give a signal one minute before the end of the session.
• The treatment stops immediately when you press the STOP button (H).
• When the session is over, the Sunshower will automatically cool down.The fan symbol
flashes and the cooling time is shown. The Sunshower cannot be used during the
cooling down period.

Adjusting the clock
Below you see the control panel of the Sunshower:
Adjust the clock as follows:
Hold the SELECT button for 5 seconds
The hour digits of the clock will flash
Use the + and - buttons to adjust the hours
Press briefly the SELECT button to select minutes
Use the + and - buttons to adjust the minutes
When you are satisfied with the adjustment, press the SELECT button.
The clock has been adjusted and the installation is accomplished.
Testing the Sunshower:
Press twice the START button. IR lamps should go on. Press STOP to end the
session, the Sunshower will cool down for 4 minutes.
Put the UV goggles on. After the cooling period, press SELECT to select UV mode.
Press START to start the UV session. The UV lamps and IR lamps go on. press STOP
to end the session.
The Sunshower is now ready to use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The front of the Sunshower is the only part that can be cleaned by the users.
Clean the sunshower only by hand.
Never use a pressure washer to clean the Sunshower
Never clean the Sunshower when in use.
Use only mild cleaners for the Sunshower: do not use bleach or other heavy duty cleaners,
they can damage the housing and the glass filter will turn dull. You can order a special
cleaner and glass protector.
REPLACING THE LAMPS
The UV output of the tanning lamps declines with time (this occurs under normal usage
after a number of years).The lifespan of the Philips HPA Cleo Swift 250-500 or Cosmedico
N400 r7s is 750 hours. After 600 operating hours, LA appears on the display to indicate
that replacement of the tanning lamps is advisable. Have the lamps replaced by your dealer
or Sunshower.
Replacing the lamps yourself is prohibited, by opening the Sunshower the guarantee will be
rendered void. If other lamps or glass filters are used in the Sunshower, UV output can be altered
greatly!
The IR lamps (USHIO 500 W) have a large lifetime of 2000 hrs.They do not decline in
performance. They only have to be replaced when they stop functioning completely.
GUARANTEE & SERVICE
Sunshower provides a warranty of a 2 year period in materials and production.The terms
of the international guarantee do not cover the tanning lamps and the infrared lamps.
The Sunshower warranty does not cover misuse, damage caused by others and incorrect
installation. Sunshower’s liability is limited to defects in materials and production. Sunshower
cannot be held responsible for the consequences of careless usage of this product or for
the consequences of the violation of local regulation.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Two types of error messages may appear on the display : Er and LA.:
1. Er: Temperature / Glass closure error
The filter glass is broken or missing, or the Sunshower gets too hot.
If the glass is broken or missing, take great caution! The Sunshower is not waterproof
any more.
Do not use the Sunshower, the shower itself and cut down the electricity to
the Sunshower, take the main fuse out of your fuse box or switch off the main
fuse. Contact your dealer or Sunshower for further advice (www.sunshower.nl)
2. LA: replace the UV lamps
After 600 operating hours, LA appears on the display to indicate that replacement of the
tanning lamps is advisable. Have the lamps replaced by your dealer or Sunshower.

DISPOSAL
Electric and electronic products must not be disposed of in the domestic waste.Please
dispose of the device, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
