Strange Smell From the Unit
TheXJ-3000Eair purifier may cause a subtle“burning”smell.This can be attributed to oneoftwothings.
First,the UV lamp producesonlytraceamounts of ozone, whichmaybedetected in small, enclosed
spaces.If the smell is bothersome, thenyoucanremove the UV lamp fromthemachine.Doingso does
notaffecttheother air purificationmethods.Secondly,the slight “burning”smellcouldbe a resultof
harmlessandnonflammable byproducts from theHEPAfilter paper.Aftera few days or weeks of
continuoususe,theburning smellwillgoawaycompletely.
UV Lamp Not Working
TheUV lamp should illuminatewhileoperating.Since it is locatedbehindthefilter, you can onlyseethe
“blueglow” by peering through thetopairoutlets into theinteriorofthe air purifier.If the UVlampisnot
glowingwhen on, and it hasbeeninuse for less than ayear,thenpush on each end ofthebulbto make
sureit is tightly in theUVlampholder.
