SWITCHING THE SYSTEM ON
There are two ways of switching the system on...
Standby Screen
➊Pressthe“power”button(hardbuttonontoplefthandsideof
screen)anditwillswitchthezoneonandselectinput1which
isnormallyaradiotuner–sobydoingthis,youwillalwayshear
something.
➋Pressthe“Home”button(hardbuttononbottomlefthandsideof
screen)togototheHomepageandfromthere,selectthesource
youwanttowatchorlistento.
Note: Source symbols are normally displayed in blue. If a source symbol is
displayed in orange, it means that the source is already being used
by another person in another location. You can go ahead and listen,
but it would be polite not to change stations or tracks.

Selecting a Music Server source from the home screen
FromtheHomeScreen,clickontheMusicServersourceicon.
Thiswilltakeyoutothe“PlayScreen”.Fromtheplayscreen,you
cansimplypressplaytostartlisteningtomusic.

Toselectandnavigatetoyourmusicselection,clickon“Select
Music”button.ThiswilltakeyoutotheServerNavigationscreen.
Other“buttons”areforplay,stop,pause,skipforward/back&
random&repeat.Therandomandrepeatfunctionsaretwo-way
buttonsandwillreadwhiteoutofblackwhenactivated.
Now you can navigate by Albums, Artists or Selections

YoucanchoosemusicbyeitherAlbumorArtist,orbywhatwecall
selections.
Selectionsareaseriesof‘playlists’whicharegeneratedfrom
theMusicServer.Playlistsareselectionsoffavouritetracksand/
oralbumsusuallywithatheme,suchas“Pete’sfavouriterock
music”,theycanalsoincludegenres.
SelectingbyalbumoraSelectionsplaylistwilltakeyoustraight
tothePlayscreen.SelectingbyArtistwilltakeyoutoanalbum
listandthentothePlayscreen.Ifatanytimeyouwishtoexitthe
MusicSelectionScreenwithoutchangingthemusic,pressthe
HomebuttontoreverttoPlayscreen.

TheTunerconsistsoftwoscreens.Thefirstistheplayscreen
whichwilldisplaythedetailsoftheselectedradiostation.This
willnormallyconsistoftheactualstationnamefollowedbyits
genreandoftensomeaccompanyingtext.Thetextcanconsist
ofupto120characters.Toviewthisinitsentirety,clickonthe
texttoexpandthefieldtoshowallofthetextinformation.Click
againonthetexttoreverttonormaldisplay.Asignalstrength
barcompletesthemaindisplay.Onthelefthandsidethereare
buttonstoswitchbetweenDAB&FM.Thereisalsoabuttonto
enterthePre-setsscreenandtwofurtherbuttonstotuneupor
down.
Note: In DAB mode, this will always scan to the next station, but in FM
mode, the Arcam tuner does not support this feature, so it just
adjusts the frequency.

The tuner pre-sets screen
ClickonthePre-setsbuttonontheplayscreenandthepre-sets
screenwillappear.Upto12pre-setstationscanbestoredand
fourofthesearevisibleatatime.Scrollbuttonsatthebottomof
thescreenenableyoutoscrollupordowntothenextsetofpre-
sets.Thepre-setbuttonsarelabelledautomaticallyfromtheradio
stationtextfield,sothereisnoneedtomanuallylabelthebuttons.
Note For each pre-set, the Arcam tuner takes about 30 seconds to load
the station text in to the pre-set text field of each of the Touch
Screens. Once loaded, this information will be retained until the
system is disconnected from the power supply.

Dependingonthesourceyouhaveselected,youwilleitherbe
presentedwitha“play”screenfor2-waydevicesliketheArcam
DAB/FMtunerorSystemlineMusicServer,orascreenof“soft”
buttonstocontrolone-waydevicessuchasCDplayers,satelite
boxesetc.ThevideooutputofanyA/VdevicessuchasDVD
playersorsatelliteboxeswillautomaticallybeswitchedtothe
AVinputofaTV(subjecttotheinclusionofaSystemlineModular
videohub).

NOTE After about 10 minutes in standby, the back light will be switched
off. This is the “sleep” state.

Thesearemappedwithabuttonlayouttosuittheparticularsource
devicebeingcontrolledandthismappingwilllargelycorrespondin
termsoffunctionalitywiththebuttonsontheSystemlineModular
LRN7handset.InthecaseofA/Vdevices,navigationisaidedby
thedisplayontheTVscreen.
LOCAL INPUT
Thelocalinputisaninputprovidedinthelisteningzone.Itmay
justconsistofastereoaudioinputwithoutIRcontrol,orIRcontrol
mayhavebeenprovidedfor.Iftheformer,thencontrolfromthe
keypadisquitebasic—juston/off&volume.Ifthelatter,thenfull
(one-way)controlispossible.

Analarmcanonlybesetfromthestandbyscreen,soitisfirst
necessarytoturnthesystemoff.
By clicking on the bell icon you will enter the alarm
screen

Thesystemwillthenreverttothestandbyscreen.Thestandby
screennowdisplaysasmallbellsymboltotherightofthetime
display.
Cancelling the Alarm
Tounsetthealarm,justclickonthelargebellsymbolonthe
StandbyScreenandclickthe“unset”buttonontheAlarmscreen.
AMBIENT LIGHT SENSITIVE DISPLAY
TheTouchscreenincorporatesalightdetectorandthiswill
automaticallyadjustboththescreenbrightnessandtheback
illuminatedhardbuttonicons.
Note When the system is in sleep mode, only the small red LED on the
Power button will be illuminated.
