When in use the TAIT radio is always

ZONE SELECTION
The Scroll keys on the face of the
radio can be used to change
directly between zones on the
radio.
Just like the function of a
spreadsheet, the scroll down
button steps to a higher zone
number until you pass the last
zone, after which it will roll over
to the first zone.
The scroll up button functions
the same way, and will roll to the
last zone when you pass the first
zone.
The channel selector knob is
used to select a Talkgroup in the
currently selected zone.
The programming template is
described on the second page of
this document. The highlighted
Talkgroups are of particular
interest to ADH users.
DO NOT TRANSMIT on other
talkgroups unless directed to
do so by proper authorities.

County Emergency Management talk-groups may be programmed in some ADH radios.
LHU Radios have County Emergency Management in ZONE 1 CHANNEL 1 as shown above. Region Staff Radios have all region County Emergency Management in ZONE 11 and 12.
Radio checks can be requested from the Arkansas Department of Health Comm Center on Zone5 Chan 5 (call “Arkansas Health, this is <your name or ADH title>”) at any time.
The ADH Comm-Center is manned 24/7 and is able to handle emergency traffic for ADH users at any time.
The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) Comm Center monitors MAC-CALL 24/7 and can assist with emergency traffic to any agency as required. (call “ADEM this is ADH <your
title> on MAC-CALL”) In the event of major emergencies, the combined radio response will be assigned to a MAC channel, or if all MACs are busy to an EMS channel. (Zone 3 & 4)
During any severe weather event (or the threat of same) you should monitor MAC-CALL for announcements from the NWS office. These announcements often are several minutes ahead of public
media announcements. NWS will also accept reports of ongoing severe weather events, and answer relevant questions to clarify bulletin information in support of public safety. Remember the NWS
staff is very busy during weather events, so use this resource wisely.
8TACxx and 8CALL90 (Zone 6) The National Interoperability channels are for large (Federal) multiagency events, or for use when the AWIN network is not available. Due to no tower system
support for these channels they have very limited range. During large scale events repeaters for these channels may be set up. The useful range of these channels will vary with terrain and on
average will only be 2-3 miles at most. Use selector setting 7 – 11 for use without a repeater and selector setting 12-16 to use channels with repeaters .
HOME for ADH radios is the HEALTH talkgroup. Hospital radios HOME on the hospital region talkgroup except in NW Region where they HOME on NW-1.
