Connectors, buttons and LEDs description
The TIO4-Sec Contact Interface is a 4-fold KNX input/output module to
process binary signals and operate KNX devices via conventional push
buttons, contact sensors and switches. KNX Data Secure is supported and
Secure Commissioning can be activated. Input channels can be configured
to output functionality.
Due to its small size (50 mm diagonal), TIO4-Sec finds enough room in a
flush-mounted box (Ø 60 mm) behind the switch. Cable pairs can be
extended up to 10 m when twisted. Single channels can drive status LEDs.
Designed for sensing NO/NC floating contacts, TIO4-Sec provides usual
KNX input functions like switching, dimming, shutters, blinds control,
counter and scenes. All kinds of potential-free contacts can be connected.
LED blinking and brightness of connected status LEDs is configurable. For
every single channel, it is possible to set brightness via object or use a
night/day operation mode to set different day/night brightness values.
Requirements of Directives EMC, RoHS and LVD are met. Standards for
residential, commercial, and industrial environments are fulfilled. The full

Mounting, commissioning and safety notes
Installation and maintenance
•After connection to the KNX bus system, the device works with its default settings
as intended
•Warning: Do not connect to 230 V. The device is supplied by the KNX bus and
does not require any additional external power supply
•The device may only be installed and put into operation by a qualified electrician
or authorized person
•For planning and construction of electric installations the appropriate
specifications, guidelines and regulations in force of the respective country have to
be complied
•The device must not be mounted in a box together with 230 V devices and/or
230 V cables
•Combinations of a push button device connected to both the TIO4-Sec and a
230 V device (or sockets) at the same time are not allowed
•Ensure that there is a safety separation (SELV) between connected signal cables
(including extensions) and other current and voltage carrying devices and cables
•When connecting the TIO4-Sec, ensure that it can be isolated
•Prevailing safety and accident prevention rules must be heeded
•Connect the KNX bus line as for common KNX bus connections with a KNX bus
cable, to be stripped and plugged into a KNX TP connector
•Connect either a LED or a switch / push button to a single channel
•Do not damage electrical insulations during connecting
•Installation only in dry locations
•Accessibility of the device for operation and visual inspection must be provided
•For configuring, use the ETS
•The housing must not be opened
•Protect the device from moisture, dirt and damage
•The device needs no maintenance
•If necessary, the device can be cleaned with a dry cloth
•In the case of damage (at storage, transport) no repairs may be carried out by
unauthorized persons

For archiving, the certificate can be removed and identified by the Serial Number

Produktbeschreibung
Anschlüsse, Tasten und LEDs
Die 4-fach KNX I/O-Schnittstelle TIO4-Sec ermöglicht, KNX-Busgeräte mit
klassischen konventionellen Schaltern und Tastern zu bedienen bzw.
Binärsignale anzukoppeln. KNX Data Secure wird unterstützt und die
Sichere Inbetriebnahme kann aktiviert werden. Die vier Eingangskanäle
sind als Ausgangskanäle konfigurierbar.
Das Gehäuse (50 mm diagonal) passt in eine Unterputzdose (Ø 60 mm)
hinter den Schalter. Die Kabelpaare der Ein-/Ausgänge sind verdrillt auf bis
zu 10 m verlängerbar. Jeder Kanal kann eine Status-LED versorgen.
Für NO/NC-Kontakte stellt die TIO4-Sec alle typischen KNX Input-
Funktionen wie Schalten, Dimmen, Rollläden-/Jalousiesteuerung, Zähler
und Szene zur Verfügung. Jede Art von potentialfreiem Kontakt kann
angeschlossen werden. Blinken und Helligkeit der angeschlossenen Status-
LEDs sind einstellbar. Für jeden Kanal kann die Helligkeit auch per Objekt
gesetzt oder ein Nacht/Tag-Betrieb konfiguriert werden.
Die Anforderungen der Direktiven EMC, RoHS und LVD sowie Standards
für Wohn & Gewerbebereiche als auch Industriebereiche werden erfüllt.

Montage, Inbetriebnahme und Sicherheit
Installation und Wartung
•Nach Anschluss an das KNX-Bussystem arbeitet das Gerät mit seinen
Standardeinstellungen wie vorgesehen
•Warnung: Nicht an 230 V anschließen. Das Gerät wird vom KNX-Bus versorgt und
benötigt keine zusätzliche externe Stromversorgung
•Das Gerät darf nur von einer Elektrofachkraft oder autorisiertem Fachpersonal
installiert und in Betrieb genommen werden
•Bei der Planung und Errichtung von elektrischen Anlagen sind die einschlägigen
Richtlinien, Vorschriften und Bestimmungen des jeweiligen Landes zu beachten
•Das Gerät darf nicht in einer Box zusammen mit 230 V -Geräten und/oder
230 V-Kabel montiert werden
•Kombinationen, bei denen Taster gleichzeitig an die TIO4-Sec und an ein
230 V -Gerät (bzw. Steckdose) angeschlossen sind, sind nicht erlaubt
•Eine sichere Trennung (SELV) zwischen angeschlossenen Signalkabeln
(einschließlich Erweiterungen) und anderen Strom und Spannung führenden
Geräten und Kabeln muss gewährleistet sein
•Beim Anschließen dafür sorgen, dass die TIO4-Sec isoliert werden kann
•Geltende Sicherheits- und Unfallverhütungsvorschriften beachten
•Die KNX-Buslinie, wie für alle üblichen KNX-Anschlüsse, mit abisoliertem KNX-
Buskabel und KNX TP-Klemme anschließen
•Entweder eine LED oder einen Schalter bzw. Taster an einen Kanal anschließen
•Beim Anschließen nicht die elektrischen Isolationen beschädigen
•Installation nur in trockener Umgebung
•Die Zugänglichkeit zum Gerät muss aus Gründen der Bedienbarkeit und Inspektion
stets gewährleistet sein
•Zum Konfigurieren die ETS verwenden
•Das Gehäuse darf nicht geöffnet werden
•Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit, Schmutz und Beschädigung schützen
•Das Gerät ist wartungsfrei
•Wenn nötig, das Gerät mit einem trockenen Tuch reinigen
•Bei Beschädigung (bei Transport, Lagerung) darf keine Reparatur vorgenommen
werden; Gerät zurückschicken
•Konfiguration-Details und ETS-Datenbank: www.tapko.de/tio4-sec
•Gerätezertifikat und Seriennummer befinden sich auf dem Etikett auf der
Rückseite. Zur Archivierung kann das Zertifikat abgerissen und mit der
Seriennummer identifiziert werden
