TASER 7 Disconnect Battery Pack
Quick Start Guide
Overview
The TASER 7 Disconnect battery pack is an option for the TASER 7 energy
weapon. The TASER 7 Disconnect battery pack provides a method by which
the energy weapon can be disabled in the case that the device is taken away
from the user. The battery pack itself is just like all of the other TASER 7 re-
chargeable battery options available. However, the Disconnect battery pack
has a lanyard attached to the bottom of the battery pack. When this lanyard
is disconnected, the energy weapon is disabled until an authorized user can
reinsert the lanyard and reinitiate the battery pack by inserting into a via a
TASER 7 Dock.
Lanyards
There are three lanyards. One is the wrist lanyard, which is intended to be
attached to the wrist that will be controlling the weapon. Another, the equip-
ment lanyard, may be attached to your tactical vest or other gear. The wrist
lanyard is longer than the equipment lanyard. The third, a coiled belt loop
lanyard, is the longest of all and designed to be secured to your belt.
A lanyard connects to the disconnect strap, which connects to the Disconnect
battery pack.
• Do not attach a lanyard to a place that would make it easy for the
lanyard to be used against you.
• Do not detach a lanyard from its battery pack when it is not neces-
sary.
• Avoid letting the energy weapon dangle from the lanyard.

Disconnecting (Disabling the Energy Weapon)
The energy weapon must be armed to be disabled.
If the connection between the disconnect strap and the Disconnect battery
pack is removed, the energy weapon will be disabled in about 1/4 of a sec-
ond. There will be an audible alert in the form of beeping. While the weapon
is disabled, the disconnect icon will ash on the central information display
(CID):
If the energy weapon was discharging when the disconnect strap was
detached, the electrical output will stop. The Arc switch and trigger will
not work.
The disconnect icon will continue ashing on the CID whether the safety is up
or down. To stop the beeping, shift the safety to the down (SAFE) position and
remove the battery pack. Removing the battery pack also turns o the CID.
Until the battery pack is reset, the energy weapon will resume beeping when-
ever the battery pack is inserted in the energy weapon if the safety key is not
attached.
Reset
To reactivate the energy weapon:
1 Reattach the disconnect strap to the battery pack.
2 Put the Disconnect battery pack in a TASER 7 Dock.
Note: The dock must be running 0.10.10 or later
rmware to be compatible with the Discon-
nect battery pack.
The battery pack should reset in a few seconds. Do
not remove the battery pack from the dock until
the LED changes to solid green . See the TASER 7
Dock Quick Reference Guide or TASER 7 Dock Individ-
ual Bay/Dataport Quick Start Guide for information
on dock operation.
3 Remove the battery pack from the dock.
4 Reinsert the battery pack in the energy weapon.

5 Shift the safety switch to the up (ARMED) position and conrm there is
no beeping and that the CID is normal.
6 Perform a function test. See the TASER 7 Energy Weapon User Manual for
instructions.
