1. TATSUNOEUROPEFUELDISPENSERS
1.1. DESCRIPTIONOFDISPENSERS
AllTATSUNOEUROPEdispensersareequippedwithhighqualitytechnologyandapowerfulreliableelectronic
counteroftheCzechcompanyTATSUNOEUROPE(hereinafterreferredtoasTE).Alldispensersworkinthe
manualmode–independently,offline–aswellastheautomatedmode,whentheyarecontrolledremotely
fromthekioskofafuelstationandconnectedtothecashregister(POS)viaadataline.Alldispensershavebody
parts(covers,doors,lids,etc.)madeofsteelpaintedsheetmetalorstainless‐steelsheetmetal.Supportingparts
ofdispenserframesaremadeofsteelpaintedsheetmetalofathickness0.8to2.5mm,orstainless‐steelsheet
metal.Eachdispenserisequippedwithanelectroniccounterwithitsowndiagnosticsanddisplaysshowingthe
deliveredamountofmoneyinthecurrencyofthecountryofinstallation,theamountoffuelinlitresorkilograms
andthefuelunitprice.Displaysofthefueldispensersspecifiedforprivateusedisplayonlythedispensedfuel
volumeinlitres.ThestandardcolourofTATSUNOEUROPEdispensersiswhite(RAL9016),silver(RAL9006)and
black(RAL9005).
The compressed natural gas (CNG) dispenser or dispensing modulehasapressurepartfittedwith
certifiedcomponentsmadeofstainlesssteelorgalvanizedsteel.TheaccesstotheCNGpressuresystem
isfittedwithalever‐closableballvalve,then25µminputparticlefilterstoprotectpressurecomponent
andequipment.Gasfillingisregulatedbyvalvesandsecuredwithcheckvalves.Theamountofgasflown
throughismeasuredwithamassmetertheinputofwhichisfittedwithanelectronicpressuresensorand
mechanicalpressuregauge(manometer).Allsuchpressureconnectionsareperformedbyusingstainless
orgalvanizedsteelpipeswithahigh‐qualityconnectionsystem(tworings).Allfixturesandbracketsinthe
pressuresectionaremadeofgalvanizedsheetmetal.Theoutputofthepressuremoduleandfixtureof
deliveryhosesissecuredwithafixedconnectiontowhichadeliveryhoseisconnectedwhichisfittedwith
asafetybreakawaycouplingthatshutsthegasflowthroughthedeliveryhoseonbothsidesinforcible
tensionstresswithfollowingdisconnection.Thedeliveryhoseendswithadeliverynozzle.Thepressure
sectionoftheCNGdispensermaybefurtherequippedwithaheatsensorformeasuringtheambient
temperature.Installationoftheheatsensorallowsactivationofthefillingtemperaturecompensation
functionFillingwithtemperaturecompensationensuresthatthevehiclestoragetankisalwaysfilledwith
amaximumamountofgaswhileobservingtheconditionofmaximumpressureinthetankof20MPaat

Dispensersettingisperformedbythesetofsettingparametersviawitchitispossibletocontrolfunctional
parameters of the dispenser, totally change the mode and behaviour of the dispenser in different
situations.TheparametervaluescanbeviewedandchangedusingtheremoteIR(infrared)controller,
theservicekeypad,orthepresetkeypadbuttonslocatedonthedispenser.Thebasicdispensercontrol
unitisanelectroniccounterthatisstoredwiththedisplayingunitsinsidethelockablecountercabinetin
anon‐explosivezone.InsideCNGdispenserisusedexclusivelycountertypeTBELTM.
2.1. DISPENSERCOUNTERTBELTM
TheTBELTMelectroniccounterfordispensers,themanufacturerofwhichisTATSUNOEUROPE,a.s.,isset
bytheIRremotecontroller.TheyellowserviceremotecontrollerPDERT‐5Sisintendedforservice
engineersauthorizedbythedispensermanufacturer.Thisremotecontrollerallowstoperformcomplete
settingsofalldispenserparameters.ThewhiteremotecontrollerPDERT‐5Oisintendedforfuelstation
managersandthisremotecontrollerallowsthemtoperform:
readingnon‐resettableelectronicmasstotalizersofalldeliveryhoses
readingandresettingdailyelectronicmassandfinancialtotalizersofallhoses
settingofunitpricesofproducts(inmanualoperation)
readingandsettingofoperatingparametersofthedispenser
Thesettingmodemaybecalledupatthedispenserbyabelowstatedprocedureonlyinthecondition
whenthedispenserisatrest‐i.e.intheconditionof“finisheddelivery”,allnozzleshung,allsalesfinished.
Therearetwoaccessmodes:
Attendantmodewhichisintendedtofuelstationattendants–itonlyallowsthemtoreadvaluesof
electronic totalizers and values of dispenser basic parameters.Theirvaluesmaynotberesetor
changed.
Managermodewhichisintendedforthefuelstationmanager–itallowshimtoreadvaluesfrom
dispensers,resetdailytotalizersandsetbasicoperatingparametersofthedispenser.Theaccessto
theManagermodeisprotectedbypassword.
2.1.1. DESCRIPTIONOFPDERTREMOTECONTROLLER
Thekeypadoftheremotecontrollerhasthefollowingkeyandarrangement(seeFigure3).Whileusing
theIRremotecontrolleritisnecessarytomovetheremotecontrollerclosertothedistanceofapprox.1
meterfromthecentreofthedispenserdisplay‐seeFigure2.

Thesettingmodeisstartedbypressingthe<M>button–Managermode,or<A>button–Attendant
mode.Thesetandreadvaluesaredisplayeddirectlyonthedispenserdisplay.

InadditiontosettingandreadingvaluesitispossibletouseA1,A2,L1,L2andCLEARkeystosetpresets
onthedispenser.The<0>keymaybeusedtounblockthedispenseraftererrororintheoperatingmodewith
blockingafterdelivery.
All data is displayed on the dispenser display in setting
modes.Whilecontrollingusingtheremotecontrollerthe
data is displayed on the display of that side where the
settingmodewascalledupfrombytheremotecontroller.

2.1.2. ATTENDANTMODE
TheAttendantmodeisstartedbypointingtheIRremotecontrolleratthedispenserdisplay(fromthe
distance of approx. 1m from the dispenser display centre) and pressing the <A> button. All delivery
nozzlesonthedispensermustbehunginadvanceandthesaleonthedispensermustbefinished(paid).
AftercallinguptheAttendantmodethevalueofthefirstparameterP01isdisplayed.Parametersand
theiritemsmaybeswitchedbyusingthe<>>and<+>keys(seeFigure3).

3. OPERATION
3.1. INSTRUCTIONSFORSAFEOPERATION
Dispensersarecomplexdevicesthathavetosecureawholerangeofdifficultfunctions.Therefore,cleaningof
thestoragetanks,pipingsystemsandinspectionofthepumpedmediumcleanlinessmustbecarriedoutbefore
commissioning. An inspection of wiring and a check of connection correctness must be performed before
commissioninginordertopreventanyelectricshockinjuriesandtoensuresafetyagainstexplosion.

CAUTION
Technicalandtechnologicaldevicesmustcorrespondtoapprovedconditionstogetherwithregulationsfor
safeoperationandmaintenanceaswellassolutionsofemergencies.Thedevicemustbefittedwithcarbon‐
dioxideextinguishersaccordingtothefire‐safetysolution.
TheCNGfuelstationmayonlybeoperatedbydemonstrablytrainedpersons.
Thedispenserisequippedwiththe“STOPbutton”foremergencies. The procedure in case of fire or
emergency is precisely defined in local operating rules and regulations – the attendant must be
demonstrablytrainedwithregardtothis.
Itisnecessarytoobservedefinedtermstoperformregularchecksandinspectionsofallinstalledtechnical
devices. Do not allow persons without appropriate professional qualification to tamper the installed
technologyincludingthegasdevices.
CAUTION
Theattendantmustnotperformanyrepairsofthedeviceandchangesettingofsafetyfittings.Regular
maintenanceandservicemayonlybeperformedbyanauthorizedservicecompany.
Theattendantmustkeepthedeviceinproperandsafeorder,immediatelyinformtheserviceorganization
aboutthedefectof abnormality during operation and immediatelydecommissionthedevicein caseof
dangerofdefault.

Each CNG dispenser must be secured with an electrical device equipped with the STOP function
according to category 0 or 1 in EN60204‐1. The fuel station attendant must be familiar with the device
function.

automatic mode, it waits until communication with the
controllingcomputerisestablishedand‐ifnecessary‐untilthe
transactionisfinished(paid),incaseithasnotbeenfinished
properlybeforeswitchingoff.
3.3. DISPENSEROPERATION
NOTICE
Theoperatorisresponsiblefortheoperationofthefuelstationanditishisdutytomonitorthedeliveryof
fuel and, in the event that the customer performs unauthorized operations at the self‐service dispensers, he must
instructthecustomeraboutproperhandling.Theoperatorisalsoobligedtomarktheriskareaofthefuelstationwith
warningsymbols(smokingban,banonopenfire,directionofarrivaltothedispenser,etc.).Thefuelstationoperating
instructionsmustbefreelyaccessibletothecustomerforanyinformationonbasicobligations.

3.3.1. CNGDELIVERYTOMOTORVEHICLES
Deliverystart
Before the delivery starts, the dispenser attendant checks whether the storage tank in a vehicle has a
homologationmark,thevehicleengineandallelectricaldevicesareturnedoff.Thenhe/shevisuallyinspects
theconditionorwearofthefillingneck/connectorthatcouldbethereasonforleaks.Ifhe/shefindsserious
deficiencies,he/sheisentitledtorefusestoragetankfilling.Incaseofgasleakordangertheattendantshall
finishthedelivery.
The operation of the dispenser itself is ensured by the
employeeofthefuelstationwholiftsthedeliverynozzlefrom
thedispenserandconnectsittothestoragetankofthevehicle
whichmustbesecuredagainstmoving.Immediatelyafterthe
nozzle is lifted the display test is performed – displaying all
segments–andthenitisresetandtheproductunitpriceis
displayed.
AfterpressingtheSTARTbuttonlocatedonthecountercasetheelectromagneticvalveopensattheinletofthe
first pressure section and the pressure storage tank of the
vehicleisfilledwithcompressednaturalgas.Atthemoment
whenthedeliveryspeeddecreasesunderthedefinedlimit,the
electronic counter automatically switches delivery to the
second section and then potentially to the third pressure
section – depending on the dispenser and fuel station
configuration.
NOTE
Somedispensers,especiallynon‐public‐companydispensers,arenotfittedwiththesensorsof
deliverynozzlelifting.AtsuchdispensersthedisplaytestisperformedafterpressingtheSTARTbutton.
Deliverytermination
Thedeliverymaybeterminatedforvariouscauses.Possiblecausesofdeliveryterminationandcorresponding
messagesshownonthedisplayarementionedinTable14.
