TREK Plus Battery Replacement Instructions
Caution: Disconnect the TREK Plus USB charging cable and place the power switch in
the OFF position before beginning the replacement.
1. Tools recommended are a TX 6 TORX driver, a very small flat bladed screwdriver,
a wide bladed screwdriver and a long, needle-nosed pair of pliers.
2. Position the unit with the base facing up and the handle of the unit on the left.
3. Remove the two rubber pads on the base of the unit. Carefully peel off, to
retain the adhesive on the pads.

4. Remove the two screws on the bottom right side of the unit base using the TX 6
TORX driver.
5. The battery cover is held in place by tabs in the sides of the case. Slide the base
cover of the A28 toward the left, away from the place where the two screws
were removed. This is most easily done by using a wide bladed screwdriver to
press to the left on the ridge of the cover.

6. Lift the base cover away from the A28 body exposing the battery compartment.
7. Lift the left end of the battery out of the cavity in the body of the A28. Then
using the small bladed screwdriver, carefully twist to separate the battery
connector from the socket. The circuitry is relative fragile, use care.
8. Replace with a battery pack from TDK Life on Record. Position the plug and
battery wires to align with the socket connector. The needle nosed pliers can
then be used to carefully press the plug of the new battery into the socket.
Make sure that it is fully inserted and clicks into place.

9. Route the wires into place and press the new battery into the battery cavity.
10. Place the base cover in position to the left of the opening, engaging the tabs
toward the front of the unit as shown here:
11. Press the plate down into the opening of the case. Then using a wide bladed
screwdriver, twist at the left end of the plate to move it back into locked
position.
12. Reinstall the 2 screws and reapply the rubber pads.
This completes the battery replacement procedure.

Proper disposal of the old battery is essential from an environmental and safety point
of view. Please follow local regulations for proper disposal. Putting any battery
directly in the trash will harm the environment.
Do not incinerate.
Following the replacement, the new battery should be fully charged prior to usage.
Connect the Micro USB charging cable to the Charge connector of the TREK Plus
(under the flap) and the other end to a USB power source. Allow to charge until the
red charging LED on the top of the unit above the Power button goes OFF.
After charging, check that the battery switch on the right side of the TREK Plus is in the
ON position for battery operation.
