A. I n t r o d u c t i o n
TeleEye R X Series Video Recording Transmitter operates w ith its revolutionary multi-
rate video coder to f ulf ill the highest video coding req uirements f or simultaneous transmission
and recording. Seamless video transmission by TeleEye R X can be perf ormed in low and
medium bandw idth communication netw orks including A DSL, I SDN and PSTN ; w hilst
DVD-q uality videos can be transmitted through LA N and recorded into local hard drive w ith
optimum speed at 50/ 60f ps and resolution in D1 resolution. Real time recording of up to
200/ 240f ps on all video channels can also be achieved at CI F resolution.
TeleEye R X provides prof essional and real lif e security control of premises w ith its
sophisticated event management scheme. I t responses to w ide range of events triggered by
external alarm sensor, video motion, pow er interruption and tamper. There is an arm/ disarm
control f or the event management mechanism. Every external alarm input is conf igurable w ith
an individual entry / exit delay , f ire z one and tamper detection setting. Various actions like
sending video back to a designated receiving PC, video recording, email notif ication, etc.
TeleEye R X can also keep a comprehensive log of the events f or audit trail.
TeleEye R X is designed to f ully comply w ith the British Standard BS 8418:2003,
providing prof essional remote monitoring and visual alarm verif ication solution to central
monitoring station.
W ith a built-in CD-w riter, video f ootage stored inside TeleEye R X can be easily extracted
f or evidential purposes. Recorded video can be backed up in CD and play ed back in any PC
w ithout any special sof tw are.

The seq uential button enables the seq uential page
mode of live monitoring. I n seq uential mode, screen

TeleEye R X transmitter supports ATA standard hard disk. User should use the hard disk listed
at the hard disk recommendation list on A ppendix E.
Recommendation: The hard disk is suggested to set in M a s ter M ode. For details please ref er to
the hard disk case or its manual.

1. Press “M en u ” button, select [S H U T D O W N] option and press “E n ter ” button.
2. [S H U T D O W N] menu w ill pop up and select [S H U T D O W N] option and press “E n ter ”
button.
3. Select [Y E S ] and press “E n ter ” button to conf irm the shut dow n and w ait f or the message
[I T I S NO W S A F E T O T U RN O F F R X ].
4. Pull the active-handle outw ards. Then use the
bundled key provided and insert into the
key hole. Turn the key anti-clockw ise (position
C), then y ou can pull out the handle.
5. Pull the handle outw ards to remove the carrier
body aw ay f rom the cartridge f rame.
6. Push the release latch to slide the top cover
backw ards and remove.

8. Position the DD into carrier body and secure
the DD using the f our screw s provided.
9. Slide the top cover back to the carrier body by
sliding f orw ard to secure.
10. Slide the carrier body back into the cartridge
f rame and push carrier body f urther into
cartridge f rame until f u l l y in s er ted.
11. Pull the active-handle outw ards, then use the
bundled key and insert into the key hole, turning
the key

Format ard disk w ill erase all data in the hard disk and reconstruct it so that it is readable by
TeleEye R X transmitter. Y ou must f ormat the hard disk af ter installed a new hard disk to
TeleEye R X transmitter.
Formatting w ill be used if the hard disk f ormat is N O T TeleEye R X transmitter recogniz ed
f ormat. Usually , it is a new hard disk, or a hard disk not used by TeleEye R X transmitter.

I t is a hard disk maintenance f unction w hich similar to Scan Disk f unction provided by the
O perating Sy stem of y our personal computer. TeleEye R X transmitter provides this f unction in
an attempt to rescue the hard disk w hen errors are f ound, and to enhance its perf ormance and
reliability .
P r o c ed u r e
1. Press “M en u ” button, select [S C A N/ F O RM A T
D I S K] option and press “E n ter ” button to enter
[S C A N/ F O RA M T D I S K] sub menu.
There is inf ormation about the hard disk. I f not,
please check that the hard disk is installed properly .
2. Select [S C A ND I S K] option press “E n ter ”
button.
3. Select [Y E S ] option and press “E n ter ” button to
start the [S C A ND I S K] process.
