1. Afterpressingthe“Menu”key(H)tosaveandexit
inthepreviousstep,youwillbepromptedtoselect
your studio. (If you are not prompted, press the
numbered line button next to the “Select Studio”
option(P)toviewalistofavailableStudios.)
Note:IfsettinguptheVSet6,scrolldownusingthe
softkeysuntilthe“SelectStudio”optionisdisplayed,
or pressthenumberedLinekeynextto“More”until
the“SelectStudio”option(P)isdisplayed.
2. TheavailablestudioswillbelistedontheLCDscreen
(Q).Pressthenumberedlinebuttonto selectyour
desiredStudio.
3. Pressthe “Go”button(L)or theon-screen“Enter”
softkey(M)tosavetheentry.
4. After the studio is selected, the VSet will
automatically list and select the available show.
IfyouareoperatingaTelosVX,multipleshowsmay
beavailableandwillbelisted(R).Selectyourdesired
showbypressingthenumberedlinekeynexttothe
showname.
5. Pressthe“Menu”key(H)tosave&exit.

1. Atanytime,theVSetcanbesettoeitherProducer
orTalentMode.ProducermodeisforaVSetthatis
beingusedtoscreencalls,whileTalentModeisused
toputcallsontheair.
2. Pressthe“Menu”key(H)andfindthe“Mode”option(S).
3. Press numbered line button next to “Mode” to
togglebetweenthechoicesofeither “Talent” (S)or
“Producer”(T).
Note: Since certain functions work differently in
"Talent"verses"Producer"mode,itisimportantthat
your staff understand that there are two modes,
what the difference is between them, and how to
switch them. Please refer to the VSet Manual for
more information about "Talent" and "Producer"
modes.

1. Pressthe“Menu”key(H)andfindthe“Setup”option(I).
Note:IfsettinguptheVSet6,scrolldownusingthe
soft keys until the “Setup” option is displayed, or
pressthenumberedLinekeynextto“More”untilthe
“Setup”option(I)isdisplayed.
2. Press and hold the numbered Line button next to
“Setup” for 5 full seconds. No visible change will
occurwhenpressingthisbutton.
3. Release the button. Once released, the “VSet IP
Address”,“VSetNetmask”,andVSetGateway”option
screens(J)willappearontheLCD.
4. Press the numbered line button next to “VSet IP
address”. Using the VSet numbered keypad (K),
entertheIPaddressforyourVSet.Thestarkey“*”
isusedto enter a dot“.”,andthepoundkey“#” is
usedtobackspace/delete.Oncetheproperaddress
isentered,pressthe“Go”button(L)ortheon-screen
“Enter”softkey(M)tosavetheentry.
5. Press the numbered line button next to “VSet
Netmask”. Using the VSet numbered keypad (K),
enter the Netmask values for your VSet. Once the
properaddressisentered,pressthe“Go”button(L)
orthe“Enter”softkey(M)tosavetheentry.
6. DonotassignaGatewayaddressunlessdirectedto
byTelossupport.
7. Pressthe“Menu”key(H)tosaveandexit.

TheVSetis connectedtothenetworkand is readyfor
System,Studio,Show,andModesetup.Continuetothe
“SystemConnections-ConnecttotheGatewayDevice”
instructions.
1. Important: Please be sure your Telos VX Engine, iQ6, or Hx6 Talkshow System is configured before
connecting your VSet to the network. For purposes of this Quick Start Guide, we will use a VSet12.
Where instructions differ for the VSet6, they will be noted.
2. If installing on a network, determine whether your system’s Ethernet switch provides PoE
(poweroverEthernet)thenproceedtotheappropriatestepbelow.
If your system’s Ethernet switch provides PoE:
a.ConnectoneendoftheEthernetcabletotheVSetEthernetport(A),connecttheotherend
toaPoEenabledportonyourconfiguredEthernetswitch(B).ContinuetoStep3.
If your system’s Ethernet switch does NOT provide PoE or if installing without a switch:
a.ConnectoneendoftheEthernetcabletothe“DataIn”jackontheincludedPoEInjector(C),
connecttheotherendtoaconfiguredEthernetswitch(D)ortheLivewire/Ethernetport
ontheHx6/iQ6.
b.ConnectoneendofanotherEthernetcabletotheVSetEthernetport(E),connect the other
endtothe“Data&PowerOut”port(F)onthePoEInjector.
c. PlugtheACpowerconnectorintothePoEInjector(G),thenconnecttoACMains.
3. OnceconnectedtheLEDindicatorsneartheVSetconnectionportshouldshowsolidgreenindicating
agood connection.The yellowLED shouldbeflashingindicatiingdata flow.In afewseconds,the
VSet’sLCDscreensshouldlightindicatingproperinitialsetup.

network.Continuetothe"NetworkConfiguration"instructions.

1. Press the “Menu” key (H) and find the “Engine
Setup”option(N).
Note:IfsettinguptheVSet6,scrolldownusingthe
softkeysuntilthe“EngineSetup”optionisdisplayed,
or pressthenumberedLinekeynextto“More”until
the“EngineSetup”option(N)isdisplayed.
2. Press and hold the numbered Line button next to
“EngineSetup”for5fullseconds.Novisiblechange
willoccurwhenpressingthisbutton.
3. Releasethebutton.Oncereleased,the“VXEngine
List”and“EngineIP”optionscreens(O)willappear.
4. TherearetwooptionstoselectyourdesiredEngine/
Talkshowsystembasedonyourpreferredmethod:
Select from a list of installed Engines/Systems.
Pressthenumberedlinebuttonnextto“VXEngine
List” to see a list of VX Engines and/or talkshow
systems installed on your network. Press the
numbered line button next to your desired Engine
toselect.Pressthe“Go”button(L)ortheon-screen
“Enter”softkey(M)tosavetheentry.
Manually enter the IP of the desired Engine/System
Pressthenumberedlinebuttonnextto“EngineIP”
whichwillthenallowyoutomanuallyentertheIP
address of the VX Gateway or other Telos hybrid/
engine you wish to connect to. Using the VSet
numberedkeypad(K),entertheIPaddressforyour
engine.Thestarkey“*”isusedtoenteradot“.”,and
thepoundkey“#”isusedtobackspace/delete.Once
theproperaddressisentered,pressthe“Go”button
(L) or the on-screen “Enter” soft key (M) to save
theentry.
Note: If the login information of the talkshow
system has been changed, enter it into the User
and Password fields. Default Username is “user”
andthereisnopasswordsoitshouldbeleftblank.
Pressthe“Menu”key(H)tosaveandexit.

orTalentMode.ProducermodeisforaVSetthatis
beingusedtoscreencalls,whileTalentModeisused
toputcallsontheair.
2. Pressthe“Menu”key(H)andfindthe“Mode”option(S).
3. Press numbered line button next to “Mode” to
togglebetweenthechoicesofeither “Talent” (S)or
“Producer”(T).
Note: Since certain functions work differently in
"Talent"verses"Producer"mode,itisimportantthat
your staff understand that there are two modes,
what the difference is between them, and how to
