When Operating Your Cleaner:
Do NOT use the vacuum cleaner if it has been dropped, damaged,•
left outdoors, or dropped into water.
Do NOT pull or carry the cleaner by the cord, close a door on the•
cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners.
Use the handle to carry and move the cleaner.•
Do NOT run the appliance over the power cord.•
Do NOT handle the mains plug or cleaner with wet hands.•
Do NOT use the vacuum cleaner to pick up large objects or ob-•
jects that are likely to damage the vacuum cleaner.
Do NOT attempt to vacuum long hair, string, pieces of cloth, etc.•
when vacuuming carpets or oors. These may clog the cleaner.
Keep hair, loose clothing, jewellery, ngers, feet and all parts of•
your body away from openings and moving parts.
Do NOT vacuum hot items; e.g. cigarettes, matches, ashes.•
Do NOT vacuum hard or metal objects, nails pins, etc.•
Do NOT pick up toxic, or ammable materials or use in the pres-•
ence of explosive or toxic dust, liquids or vapour.
Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.•
Do NOT put any objects into openings.•
Do NOT use with any lters blocked.•
Do NOT use without all the lters in place.•
Before use check that the dust bag is empty and empty it fre-•
quently during use.
Switch the cleaner o before plugging or unplugging the•
vacuum cleaner into the mains supply.
Use extra care when vacuuming on stairs.•
Keep all vents openings and attachments free of dust, lint, hair•
and anything else that may reduce air ow.
Keep the end of the hose and all attachments away from your•
face and body.
If the appliance becomes clogged, switch o and unplug the•
power cord before clearing the obstruction.
NEVER leave the cleaner unattended while it is plugged into the•
mains

supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play•
with the appliance.
This appliance is for household use. Do not use for any purpose•
not expressly specied in this manual.
There are no user serviceable parts in this appliance. Unauthor-•
ised dismantling or servicing will void the warranty.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manu-•
facturer or its service agent or a similarly qualied person in order
to avoid a hazard
Refer all servicing which involves the taking or putting on of parts•
(other than those specically referred to in this manual), to a
qualied repair person or approved service centre.
Do not use attachments or accessories which are not recom-•
mended by the manufacturer. They may cause malfunction or

ERATION IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT ALL THE AIRWAYS AND FILTERS ARE CLEANED AT REGULAR INTERVALS AND THAT THE DUST
IS EMPTIED BEFORE THE DUST BAG IS FULL. DO NOT USE THE CLEANER WHEN THE DUST BAG FULL INDICATOR IS ON.
FAILURE TO CLEAN THE FILTERS AND EMPTY THE DUST BAG IN GOOD TIME WILL RESTRICT THE AIRFLOW AND RESULT IN

Unpacking The Cleaner
Remove all packaging from the appliance and acces-
sories. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it, do so
according to any recycling regulations.
Identify the cleaner components from the illustrations.
If any items are missing or damaged, contact your
nearest Tesco store for assistance. Please have your
receipt ready when you call.
Attaching the Flexible Hose
Insert the hose collar in hose
inlet. Push the collar in and turn
slightly to lock the hose in place.
To remove the collar: Press the
tabs at the side of the collar.
Keeping the tabs pressed, pull
the collar out.
Attaching the Hose Extension Tubes
You can use the cleaner using only the hose or with one or
both extension tubes tted. Push the hose handle rmly
into the top of the rst extension tube. Attach the second
tube similarly. The tubes will t only one way round.

Operating your Vacuum Cleaner
Carrying the Cleaner
The cleaner may be carried in a horizontal position with the regular
handgrip. It may also be carried vertically using the handgrip recess in
the base.
Attaching the Accessories
Push the Floor Brush rmly
onto the end of the hose
extension/s (or directly onto
the hose handle if you are
not using the extension
tube).
The Crevice Tool will attach to the hose in the same way as the oor
brush.
Never attach or remove accessories when the vacuum cleaner is
switched on.
Adjusting the Power Cord
1: To extend the power cord: Gently pull the cord from the recess
located in the rear of the cleaner. The cord has two marks. The yellow
mark shows the maximum safe length to which you can extend the
cord. If you can see the red mark the cord has been lengthened too
much.
Never extend the cord beyond the red mark or you may damage the
cord winding mechanism.
2: To rewind the cord: Unplug the cord. Press the Cord Release Lever.
Gently guide the cord back by hand into the cleaner until it is fully
rewound. Do not let the cord return unaided or it may whip and cause
damage or injury.

Using the Appliance
Connect the hose and extensions to the appliance.•
Open the airow slider in the handle.•
Extend the power cord to a usable length.•
Plug the unit into the mains and switch on the power.•
Switching On and O
Press the Mains ON/OFF pedal to switch
the power ON.
Press again to switch the power OFF
When vacuuming:
Move the vacuum head back and forth over the surface. Use even•
strokes. Do not press- let the cleaner do the work.
Open and close the airow slider to vary the suction power of the•
cleaner.
Using the Accessories
The Floor Brush is adjustable for use
on carpets or bare oors.
Bare Floors: Press the lever showing the Brush Symbol. The brush will
appear .
Carpets: Press the lever showing the Floor symbol to retract the oor
brush.
The Crevice Tool is a dual-purpose tool. Use it
extended to vacuum down the side of cush-
ions, etc. Turn the head through 90º to clean
curtains, etc.

General Do’s and Dont’s
Do NOT attach or remove accessories when the vacuum cleaner•
is switched on.
Do NOT pull the cleaner around the room by the hose.•
Do NOT over extend the hose. Trying to reach beyond the hose•
length could cause an accident.
Be especially careful on stairs.•
Do NOT pull or carry the cleaner by the cord, close a door on the•
cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not over
extend the cord. Switch the cleaner o and move it to a closer
power point. Use just enough cord to do the job.
Use the carry handle to lift or move the cleaner.•
If you are moving the cleaner a long way or up a ight of stairs,•
switch o, rewind the power cord and park the accessories.
NEVER operate the cleaner with damaged lters or with a lter•
missing. Use approved lters and regularly clean and replace them.
Clearing a Blockage
If the cleaner loses suction this may be due to clogged lters or a
blockage. DO NOT operate the cleaner if the suction is impaired.
If you suspect a blockage:
Set the cleaner upright, switch o and unplug immediately. Empty the
dust, check all the lters and clean them.
If this does not remove the blockage:
Check the extension tubes and accessories visually and remove any
blockage with a stick or broom handle.
When you have nished vacuuming:
Switch o and unplug the appliance.•
Rewind the power cord.•
Disconnect the accessories and store the cleaner in the vertical•
position or place the cleaner normally with the accessories in the
parked position. (See Cleaning and Storage)
Removing the Dust
The Dust bag should be emptied at regular
intervals to prevent clogging, with a loss of
suction power and poor cleaning. When the
‘Dust Bag Full’ indicator goes red the dust
bag must be emptied to avoid damage to the
cleaner
Lift the top cover up
Carefully lift the bag from the cradle and discard it.
Place a new bag in the cradle making sure that the top ts securely
behind all the tabs.
Close the lid.
Cleaning and Replacing the Filters
Clean the two lters often. Failure to clean the lters regularly will
reduce the cleaner eciency and may shorten its lifespan.
The Motor Filter
The lter is in at the rear of the cleaner.
Remove the cover and then remove the lter.
The Inlet Filter is in a cage at the rear of the inside compartment. It is
held on by a clip behind the cage.. Open the lid, hold the cage at both
sides and pull the lter out.
Brush the inlet and outlet cavities out. This will help keep the internal
airways clean and maintain cleaner performance.

Wash both lters under running water. Allow to dry fully. When they
are thoroughly dry, replace the lters.
NEVER replace a lter if it is wet.
When replacing the motor lter:
Tip the cleaner up slightly (after removing the hose) and place the
lter in the recess.
Now replace the cover.
Warranty
This appliance is intended only for household use. It must be prop-
erly installed and operated in accordance with these instructions.
Failure to do this will invalidate the warranty.
Your appliance is covered by a warranty for 12 months from the
date of purchase. If a fault develops during this period, please re-
turn the unit to your nearest Tesco store together with the original
receipt as proof of purchase. This warranty in no way aects your
consumer rights

of with household waste. Separate disposal facilities
exist, for your nearest facilities see www.recycle-more.

Cleaning and Storage
Switch the cleaner o and unplug from the mains.
Empty the dust bag and clean the lters
Wipe the cleaner body with a damp cloth and dry
thoroughly. Do NOT allow water or liquids to pen-
etrate the vacuum cleaner. This could be dangerous.
Store the cleaner safely out of the reach of children
and pets.
The cleaner can be stored upright on its base with the
hose and accessories disconnected and separately
stored.
Alternatively, it may be stored in the normal or up-
right position with the tube and oor brush parked
on the rear hook as shown.
