Control Buttons – Reverse Power Forward
To protect this Shredder correctly and avoid any damage, please
ensure you understand the following Icons:-

GENERAL SAFETY

The Shredder s only ntended for pr vate/domest c and small off ce use. Any other uses not
recommended by the manufacture, may result n the warranty be ng vo d. Do not use the
shredder to shred f lm, OHP Pouches, adhes ve st ckers, cloths or any plast cs, other that
cred t cards, as these may cause damage.
Remove the Shredder from ts packag ng and check to make sure t s n good cond t on
before us ng. Keep the packag ng for storage and transportat on.
Th s Shredder s not ntended for use by persons, nclud ng ch ldren, w th reduced phys cal,
sensory or mental capab l t es, or lack of exper ence and knowledge, unless they have been
g ven superv s on or nstruct on concern ng the use of the Shredder by a person respons ble
for the r safety.
Extreme caut on s necessary where ch ldren or persons w th reduced phys cal, sensory or
mental capab l t es may come nto contact w th the Shredder when n use.
Do not let ch ldren play w th parts of the packag ng, such as plast c bags.
Ensure the power supply to the socket nto wh ch the Shredder s plugged, s n accordance
w th the rat ng label on the shredder and that the socket s earthed.
Do not use the Shredder f the Power Cord s damaged. If the Power Cord s damaged t
must be replaced by a recogn zed serv ce agency or other qual f ed person.
Always turn the Power off before unplugg ng the Shredder and make sure your hands are
dry to prevent electr c shock.
Do not use outdoors.
Always unplug the Shredder when not n use.

Shredder Capacity:
The CD1412 w ll shred 12 sheets of A4 70g paper at once or 1 Cred t Card or 1 x DVD/CD,
and w ll accept paper w dth up to 220mm.When shredd ng smaller tems l ke envelopes or
cred t card rece pts/Cred t Cards, nsert them through the m ddle of the feed slot.
The paper sensor s located n the centre of the ma n feed slot. When paper s nserted, the
sensor starts the cutters. When the paper has gone through the shredder, the sensor w ll
sw tch the cutters off.
Operating the Shredder:
1. Prepare the paper to be shredded by remov ng paper cl ps, and any other objects that
may jam n the feed slot. The Shredder w ll shred staples, though for opt mal
performance, the r removal s adv sed
2. Only feed 12 sheets of 70g A4 paper at any one t me or 1 Cred t Card or 1 DVD/CD
PLEASE NOTE
– There are two power sw tches/buttons on th s Shredder, one at the back
of the Shredder, the other at the front.

RE ERSE: Reverses the shredd ng d rect on and backs tems out of the shredder n the
event of a paper jam, can also be used n conjunct on w th the Forward button, to clear paper
jams.
POWER: Press once to sw tch the power on, nd cated by the Red ready l ght, press aga n
and the power s sw tched off. For th s button to work the Rocker sw tch located at the back
of the shredder, must have the O sw tch pressed down.
FORWARD: Allows the cutters/blades to shred n a forward d rect on w thout paper be ng
nserted, normally used n conjunct on w th the reverse sw tch to clear any paper jams.
Waste Bin:
Th s Shredder has a pull out waste b n for mess free empty ng. It s also f tted w th a Safety
Sw tch that cuts off the power when the waste b n s removed. To sw tch t back on when the
b n s placed back nto the Shredder, press the power button at the front of the Shredder.
PLEASE NOTE – If the waste b n s not placed back correctly, the Shredder w ll not work.

Paper Jams:
The CC1610 s equ pped w th a motor overload/overheat protect on dev ce and the power
may term nate automat cally n case of the follow ng s tuat ons:
1. Operat ng the shredder at max mum capac ty cont nuously for a prolonged per od of
t me, e.g. more than 2 m nutes duty cycle w thout stopp ng.
2. Exceed ng the shredd ng capac ty e.g. nsert ng more than 12 sheets at one t me, or f
the paper s not fed squarely nto the feed slot.
Both of these operat ons may result n the act vat on of the automat c motor overload
protect on, wh ch term nates the power to the un t. If th s occurs, you should e ther:
1 . Press the reverse button and remove any excess paper, now press the forward button,
th s should then clear the paper jam. If the paper s st ll jammed n the blades then
alternately press the forward and reverse buttons 2-3 t mes, the paper jam should now
be cleared.
OR
2 If the Shredder does not work then you need to unplug the power cord from the AC
outlet and wa t at least 30 m nutes for the overload protect on to reset.
3 After 30 m ns, plug the power cord back nto the AC outlet and press the power button,
so the red ready l ght comes on. Any paper st ll n the shredder should automat cally be
shredded, f not follow the above nstruct ons n po nt 1.
Clearing the Blades of Paper Jams
If paper becomes jammed dur ng shredd ng, press the reverse button and remove any
excess paper from the feed slot, press the forward button, th s should clear the paper jam.. If
paper s st ll jammed then press the forward and reverse buttons alternately, 2-3 t mes,
wh ch should then f nally clear the paper jam.
ALWAYS UNPLUG THE SHREDDER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO MANUALLY REMO E
AN ITEM FROM THE PAPER ENTRY.
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, INSERT METAL OBJECTS INTO THE ENTRY
FEED SLOT OR THE BLADES, TO REMO E THE JAMMED PAPER.
Maintenance
Warning:
When you want to ma nta n the shredder, please make sure you have sw tched off the
shredder and removed the plug from ts socket.
Use a damp/dry soft cloth when you want to clean the shredder.
The shredder cover and waste b n are made of plast c; therefore please do not use
gasol ne, benzene mpregnate th nners to avo d fad ng or scratches.
Do not allow water to enter the shredder head when clean ng.
To ma nta n the qual ty of your shredder blades please use Texet LB12 lubr cat ng
sheets once a month, these can be bought from our ebay store – Texet Sales Ltd.

Waste Emptying:
1. When you empty the waste b n, please make sure the shredder s sw tched off and
unplugged.
2. Place the Waste B n back nto the shredder, ensur ng t s done correctly otherw se t w ll
not work.
Paper can eas ly wrap around the shredder blades f the waste b n s allowed
to get too full, therefore please empty the waste b n after shredd ng approx
85 A4 Sheets.
Disposal:
Please d spose of th s product respons bly at an approved d sposal s te or recycl ng fac l ty.
Do not d spose of th s product n household waste.
