Thermo Orion 620 User manual

All meter functions are described in detail in the accompanying instruc-
tion manual. For calibration and measurement only a few steps are
required, and step-by-step instructions are given in this guide.
Meter Connections
Power
1. Plug line adaptor firmly into power input on rear panel of meter.
2. Plug line adaptor into an appropriate wall outlet.
Electrode Connection
NOTE: Always turn meter off before connecting or disconnecting solid
state probe. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY DAMAGE YOUR PROBE.
Attach Solid State pH Probe Orion 615700 or 616500 to the ATC/DIN
input on the meter by sliding the connector on straight until firmly in
place. The connector has a special sealing mechanism to prevent mois-
ture from penetrating the meter. It is sealed when the connector is
properly attached.

Autocalibration with One Buffer
NOTE: Autocalibration with one buffer can only be performed using
buffer 7.00.
1. With power off, connect the solid state electrode to the meter.
2. Place the electrode into 7.00 buffer. Press power to turn meter on.
3. Dashes and a temperature reading will be displayed in the
measure mode.
4. Select calibration mode by pressing the mode key until
CALIBRATE is displayed.
5. Press NO to scroll through other choices, and then press
YES when 7 is displayed.
6. The buffer indicated along the bottom of the display will
indicate the buffer selected and “P1” will be dislayed in
the lower field.(NOTE: Dashes continue to be displayed).
7. When “ready” is displayed, indicating electrode stability, Press yes.
The temperature corrected value for that buffer is entered into
the memory of the meter.
8. "SLP” will appear in the lower display field and the current electrode
slope in memory is displayed in the main field for 5 seconds. The
meter will then automatically advance to the measure mode and
MEASURE is displayed above the main display field.
9. Remove electrode from 7.00 buffer and rinse with deionized water.
Place electrode into sample. Both the temperature corrected pH
reading and temperature reading are displayed. Record reading
when “ready” is displayed.
