INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Thoracolumbosacral corset with supporting straps

1. Characteristics
Thoracolumbosacral corset with supporting straps is made of elastic
compression fabric fastened by Velcro at the front. It consists of
flexible underwires and aluminium stays which relieve and stabilize the
spine and of system of tightening straps which adjust stabilization
force. Owing to the spatial structure of compression fabric, the corset
is air permeable and removes excessive heat and moisture perfectly.
The fabric is also durable and comfortable in everyday use. The height
of the corset is appropriate to stabilize the thoracic-lumbosacral
segment of spine.
2. Application
Thoracolumbosacral corset is used to reduce pain, in decompression of
nerve roots, in local stabilization of spine as well as in strengthening
during tilting a patient to erect position who suffers from orthopedic or
neurologic injury. Owing to elastic fabric, the material has compression
effect on the muscles within the trunk.
Indications for use:
•Discopathy
•Inflammations of spine joints
•Ankylosing spondylitis
•Overload pain
•Degenerative changes
•Pathologic fracture of vertebral body
•Neuropathic and radicular syndrome
•Increased and painful states of back muscle tone

•In post-surgery treatment
•In post-injury rehabilitation process
3. Contraindications
Do not use in case of:
•Skin abrasion
•Eczema
•Wound and other skin injuries
•After application of warming gel or ointment
•Individual contraindications which were determined by the doctor
during interview and physical examination

5. Fitting instruction
Note! Follow the information contained in this manual while fitting and
adjustment. Users with severe pain in the lumbar spine and with
reduced mobility may need help from a third person who has
appropriate skills.
•To put the corset on, unfasten Velcro fasteners and supporting
straps which are located at the front of the corset. Wrap the trunk
around from the back to the front at the level of the lumbosacral
segment of spine. Fasten stabilizing straps at the front by Velcro,
and then, fasten supporting straps.
•Remember that only properly matched size guarantees correct
stabilization and relief of thoracic-lumbosacral spine.

7. Maintenance
•
Hand wash the corset in warm water at 300. Do not tumble,
chlorinate, iron, bleach, dry cleaning, use tumble dryer.
•
Ensure the Velcro is fastened in order not to destroy the material.
•
Dry at room temperature far from intensive heat source.
Note! Maintenance information can be found on the material label.
Note! Lack of personal hygiene, usage of improper preservative and
washing agents may cause abrasions and other damage as well as
increased perspiration and development of bacterial flora.
8. Storage and transport conditions
Device should not be exposed to direct sunlight, water or moisture.
