2. Operation
SWITCHING PRESETS MODE ON
To switch between presets mode ON/ OFF, just turn the switch and the LED indicator will
activate if presets are ON.
Example shown: Preset 1 active; presets 2-8 have scenes stored but inactive.
RECORDING THE SCENES (PRESETS)
SceneSwitch has 8 static memory buttons (presets, 1-8). These static scenes contain a
snapshot of all DMX channel values in all 8 possible input universes at the time they were
captured.
To record one of the 8 static memories, choose from which DMX input the memories will be
recorded (A or B DMX input) and switch the input selector to the chosen input (A or B position).
Once this is done, follow this sequence:
1) Use the lighting console to set the necessary DMX channel levels (create the desired lighting
preset to be recorded on SceneSwitch preset button).
2) Perform a visual check making sure the preset is as you want it to be (necessary beam angle,
brightness and color levels).
3) Press and hold the chosen memory button for 5 seconds or longer.
4) When LED status indicators start to blink, release the memory button.
5) When the memory is recorded the LED status indicator of the button will be illuminated at
20% intensity.
NOTE: Multiple memories can be activated at the same time – they will be merged using HTP
(Highest Takes Precedence) protocol.

ProPlex SceneSwitch 8 user manual version 1.911 June 2021 9
To activate any of the pre-programmed presets, press the desired preset button for less than
one second. The active preset button will glow at 100% intensity. Several presets may be
activated simultaneously. To turn off the preset, press the preset button. The LED status
indicator will switch to 20% intensity when the preset is inactive.
ERASE ALL PRESETS
To delete all information in all of the memory buttons:
Press and hold buttons No. 1 and No. 8 until LED status indicators blink for a short time. All
memories are erased and all LED status indicators are turned off.
LED STATUS INDICATOR POSITIONS
SceneSwitch 8 preset buttons have 3 indicating LED brightness positions:
•OFF – Memory button is "empty" (no recorded presets)
•Turned on at 20% -- Preset is recorded
•Turned on at 100% -- Preset is active
SWITCHING BETWEEN INPUTS AAND B
To switch between A and B inputs, turn the switch to either A or B. LED indicators will activate on
either A or B to indicate which input is active.
NOTE: Preset switch must be turned OFF when using DMX inputs as the DMX signal source.
