ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The GRKAU04 installaon kit allows for the retenon of the vehicle’s steering wheel controls and helps maintain
the original aesthec of the interior when installing a new car stereo. The GRKAU04 gives you everything
you need for a complete install in one box. The components of this kit are compable for the Audi A4 (8E,
2001-2008) with Concert, Chorus or Symphony factory stereos. The wiring harness and interface will retain the
steering wheel controls, factory phone buons and the BOSE amplied system (if vehicle is equipped). Supplied
with both ISO & Quadlock connectors.





Installaons should be carried out by, or under the guidance of an experienced installer. If you do encounter any

1. Slot the stereo removal keys into the corners of the stereo, when locked into place, pull to remove the
radio from the dashboard, disconnecng the wiring in the process.


1. Start by aaching the brackets to the new stereo. These brackets allow you to set the specic depth of
the unit in relaon to the fascia plate. Start by lining up the spacerson the inside of the plates
.
2. Aach the spacer and plate combinaon to the corresponding side of the stereo using the screws that
come with the stereo. Then simply slide the stereo into the radio cage.
3. Take the fascia in hand, and slide the cage through the front of the fascia. If the depth/alignment of the
stereo hangs out too much/is reccessed to far, use the radio removal keys to release the stereo
from the cage and repeat the process.
  

2. Take the steering wheel control interface and aach the 14-way steering wheel harness connector to
the relevant side.
4. Aach the antenna adapter to the vehicles pre-exisng connecon and the back of the new stereo.

5. Aach the required red & white RCA connectors from the stereo wiring harness to the new stereo.
Full-amplied = Both ‘front’ and ‘rear’ sets of RCA’s.
Half-amplied = ‘Rear’ RCA’s only (alongside the ‘amp remote’ wire).
Non-amplied = Neither RCA’s need connecng.
6. Aach the addional wiring on the harness to the back of the stereo:
- Speed Pulse  - Park Brake  - Reverse  - Amp Remote*
*The blue wire is needed for vehicles where 12V amp remote is not located in the harness.
7. When all the above wires (and any addional accessories) have been connected, nally make the power
connecons between the stereo and the vehicles pre-exisng connector.
1. Idenfy which stereo connector you will need - either Quadlock or Mini ISO (.

 
3. Make a cut within the orange and purple loops on the back of the patch lead connector. Then proceed
to aach ‘Key 1’ to the light blue ‘SWC Remote’ wire on the stereo. When done, connect the 12-way
connector to the steering wheel control interface.
