Torooffersseveraldifferentbladesandpullers.Purchasea
bladeandpullerfromyourAuthorizedToroDealerdealer.
WARNING
Thebladeissharpandcanswingduringinstallation
andremoval,cutting,pinching,orcrushinghands
orfeet.
Wearglovesandworkbootsandsecurelyholdthe
blade.
1.Raisetheplowabout1m(39inches)offoftheground
andinstallthecylinderlock(s).
2.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
3.Removethetwoclickpinsfromtheclevispinsinthe
bladebracket,thenremovetheclevispins(Figure4)
andtheexistingblade(ifinstalled).

CAUTION
Whenyouremovethelynchpin,theplow
couldswingintoyouorabystander,orcause
thetractionunittobecomeunstable.
HoldtheplowintheNeutralpositionwhen
movingthelynchpins.
2.Connectthematerialbeinginstalledtotheplow.
3.Ifyourtractionunithasaspeedselector,moveitto
theslow(turtle)position.
4.Starttheengine.
5.Tilttheattachmentplatecompletelybacksothatthe
topoftheplowisparalleltotheground(Figure7).
6.Lowertheplowsothatitisrestingontheground.
Important:Alwaysensurethattheplowison
orinthegroundbeforeengagingtheauxiliary
hydraulicslever.Failuretodosowillcause
excessivevibrationofthetractionunit,possibly
resultingindamage.
Note:Ifyoudigaholetolowerthebladeintobefore
starting,itwillreducetheriskofbendingtheblade.
7.Pulltheauxiliary-hydraulicslevertotheoperatorgrip
toengagetheplow .
8.Slowlylowertheplowintothegroundtothedesired
depth,whilemovingthetractionunitbackward.
9.Whennished,releasetheauxiliary-hydraulicslever
tostoptheplow.
CAUTION
Whenplowingonahill,theplowcanswing
downhillwhenraisedoutofthesoil.Dueto
theweightoftheplow,ifitswingstoofast,the
forcecouldtipthetractionunitinjuringyou
orothers.
Whenplowingonahill,raisetheplowoutof
thegroundslowly,lettingitswingwhilethe
bulletisstillinthesoil.
10.Raisetheplowoutofthegroundfarenoughtopull
thepulleroutofthesoil.
11.Movethetractionunitrearwardtopulloutaworking
lengthofmaterial,thenmoveforwardslightlytocreate
someslackintheline.
12.Stoptheengine.

GaugingPlowDepth
Normally,youwillplowatthemaximumdepthsetbythe
blade;however,theplowisalsoequippedwithagaugeto
allowyoutolifttheplowanddeterminehowhighabove
maximumdepthyouareplowing.
Thegaugeislocatedontheleftsideoftheplowfacingthe
tractionunit.Arodassemblyrunsfromthegaugetothe
ground(Figure7).Whenyoulifttheplow,theindicator
onthegaugemovesdown.Marksonthegaugeshowthe
numberofincheslowerorhigherthanthemaximumdepth
thatyouareplowing(Figure6).Thegaugereadsfrom+2to
-3.The+2onthegaugerepresentsa5.0cm(2inch)depth
belowthebaresurfaceandthe-3onthegaugerepresentsa
7.6cm(3inch)abovethebaresurface.The0onthegauge
indicatesthatnooffsetisappliedtothebladedepth.

Whenplowingbareground,themaximumdepthindicated
onthegaugeisthe0mark.Youcanplowdowntothe+1
mark,butyouwillcontactthegroundwiththecoulteraxle.
Plowinganylowermaydamagethecoulter.
Whenplowinggrasscoveredground,thegaugewillread
aboutaninchlowerthantheactualdepthbecauseofthe
grass.Inthiscase,lowertheplowtothedesiredcoulterdepth
andnotethereadingonthegauge.
Ifyoutransporttheploworplowroughterrain,youcanlock
thegaugeatthe+2positiontokeepitfrombeingdamaged.
Tolockthegauge,manuallyraiseittothe+2positionand
movethelockinglevertotheleft.
TransportingthePlow
1.Movethelynchpinstotheinsideholesonthespring
rodstopreventside-to-sidemovement(Figure5).
CAUTION
Failuretosecuretheplowallowsittoswing
side-to-sideandunbalancetheplow.Dueto
theweightoftheplow,ifitswingstoofast,the
forcecouldtipthetractionunit,injuringyou
orbystanders.
Alwayssecuretheplowwiththelynchpins
intheinnerholesofthespringrodsbefore
transportingtheplow.
2.Raisetheloaderarmsjustenoughtoensurethatthe
bladeclearstheground.
Important:Important:Nevertransporttheplow
withthearmsfullyraised.

TractionUnit
RefertoyourtractionunitOperator’sManualforcomplete
instructionsonremovingattachmentsfromthetractionunit
anddisconnectinghydraulichoses.
1.Withtheplowraisedabovetheground,stoptheengine.
2.Removethelowerclickpinandclevispinsecuringthe
bladetotheplow(tocompletelyremovetheblade,
removeboththeupperandlowerclickandclevispins
Figure4).
3.Swingthebladeupandsecureitasin(Figure8).

•Someoldermodeltractionunitshaveholesthroughthe
springandquick-attachpinsonthemountplate(Figure
9)toallowyoutoinstall2hairpincotterswhenplowing
longruns.Thisensuresthatthevibrationoftheplow
doesnotcausethepinstocomeloose.
Note:Thequickattachpinsonnewertractionunitsno
longerneedthehairpincotters.

plowingtopreventequipmentdamage.
•Alwaysbeginplowingwiththeslowestgroundspeed
possible.Increasespeedifconditionspermit,butdonot
allowthetiresortrackstospin.Spinningthetracksor
tirescausesturfdamageandplacesstressonthetraction
unit.
•Alwaysusefullthrottle(maximumenginespeed)when
plowing.
•Alwaysplowbackward(inreverse).
•Ifyourtractionunithasaspeedselectorandaow
divider,movethespeedselectortoslow(turtle)andthe
owdividertothe10o’clockposition.
•Avoidsharpturnswhenplowingtoincreaseproductivity
andminimizegrounddisturbance.
•Ifyourtractionunithastiresandyouhavetheagricultural
orSiteworkSystemstiresinstalledonthetractionunit,
removethetiresandmovetheright-sidetirestotheleft
andtheleft-sidetirestotheright.
Note:Thisensuresthatthetiretreadpointstotherearto
giveyouthemosttractionwhenusingthevibratoryplow.
