Using the Accessories:
This unit comes complete with a strainer and egg-poaching tray, allowing for extra
functionality.
The Strainer
• The strainer can be used to separate ingredients when making soup, allowing
for the creation of soups which are smooth in consistency but still contain
chunks of meat or vegetables, for a richer meal.
• To use the strainer, start by choosing how fine the ingredients should be
chopped. If they are to be finely chopped, choose the finer side of the strainer;
for a coarser chop, choose the coarse side.
• Once the strainer has been placed inside the unit, chop the ingredients not
to be blended into approximately 1cm pieces and distribute them inside the
strainer. Place all other ingredients outside the strainer and directly into the
blending jug, as normal.
• Run a soup-making cycle as described in the ‘Using Your Appliance’ section
above.
• Once the cooking cycle is complete, remove the strainer from the blender jug
and stir the contents thoroughly with a long spoon before serving, to ensure
the chunks are evenly distributed within the soup.
The Egg Tray
• This unit comes complete with an egg tray, for quickly and easily boiling eggs.
• To boil eggs, start by filling the blender jug with water to the 0.3L mark.
• Once the unit has been filled with water, insert the egg tray in the blender jug
and place the eggs inside it.
• Carefully pierce the shell of each egg with an egg piercer or a needle.
• When the eggs are securely placed inside the unit, plug it into the mains and
press the BOIL/STEAM button to begin a boiling cycle. There will be a sound
prompt and the corresponding LED will flash to show this function has been
selected.
• Once the boiling process has begun, it can be stopped automatically at any
time by pressing the On/Off button on the unit’s control panel. This helps
ensure the eggs are cooked to the desired consistency. The recommended
times for each consistency are as follows:
• For soft-boiled eggs, let the cycle run for 10 minutes.
• For hard-boiled, let the cycle run for the full 15 minutes.
• Once the eggs have been cooked to the desired consistency, turn the unit off,
remove the lid and take the egg basket from inside.
CAUTION! The unit, lid, blender jug and egg tray will be very hot at the end of the
cooking cycle. Wear oven gloves or use tongs when removing the egg tray to reduce
the risk of burns or scalding.
• Rinse the eggs under cold water before serving.
