1. INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing this product!
For installation, maintenance and assurance of a long
life of this product, please follow this manual.
For more detailed mounting instructions on the Rittal en-
closure please see user manual TUM5915.

2. APPLICATIONS
Control system for Tranberg TEF 4600 Helideck Light
Control.
Status lights: Up to 2 main lights and 2 repeater lights.
Floodlights: Up to 2 Floodlight circuits.
Perimeter lights: Up to 2 Perimeter lights circuits.
Obstruction light: One Obstruction light circuit.
Windsock: One Windsock circuit.
Circle & H: One Circle & H circuit.
Auxiliary: Two Auxiliary light circuits.

4 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Note that changes made to the product and/or instal-
lation of components which do not conform to the ap-
proval, may be a safety violation. The manufacturer will
in no circumstance be held responsible for such activity.
For your health and safety, always use safety gear suited
for the task. Be certain to follow codes, regulations and/
or specific procedures that are related to the installation.
The TEF 4600 control cabinet shall be stored in a dry
place. Storage temperature range (non-condensing):
-10°C to +55°C
5 ABOUT THE SYSTEM
The standard control system consists of a control cabinet
with power supply, PLC, circuit breakers, terminal blocks.
It’s possible to connect several remote control panels as
well as connect the sys¬tem to a remote SCADA-system.
Connect SCADA system to the general alarm output NO/
NC volt free contact to retrieve instant notification in case
anything should fail.
6 TERMINAL CONNECTIONS

7.1 CONFIGURATION STATUS LIGHTS
7.1.1 Enable Installed Lights
The left side has enable function for each Helideck light
module. The Helideck light modules that are present on a
given vessel or installation shall be set to Enable for con-
trol and monitoring of said light. The Button will be green
when Enabled.
7.1.2 Status Light Automatic Test:
This Function will enable or disable Automatic test of
the Status Lights. When enabled the Status Lights will
perform a self check once per 24 hours. The test is per-
formed by the lamps being turned on for 1 second at very
low light intensity. This test will serve as a early warning
diagnostics. If alarm is present the lamp will report this to
the Control System and an Alarm with descriptive text will
be shown in the Alarms screen.
7.1.3 Status Light On Timeout
Activation timeout will deactivate the Status light system
when the timer has elapsed. Default value is 30 minutes.
The Button will be green when Enabled.
7.1.4 Status Light Dim Timeout
Dim timeout will deactivate the dimming function when
the timer has elapsed. Default value is 30 minutes. The
Button will be green when Enabled.
7.1.5 Helideck Lights Timeout
Helideck Lights Timeout will deactivate the «All Helideck
Lights On» function when the timer has elapsed. The But-
ton will be green when Enabled.

9 DISPOSAL
Disposal
Dispose of according to company regulations and
na¬tional rules. The equipment is recycled/disposed of
as electrical equipment.
8 COMMISSIONING
After configuration, all configured features, as well as the
Fire and gas input and the overall function of the system
should be tested. SEE COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE
TTD 5909.
7.2 CONFIGURATION CIRCLE & H
7.2.1 Adjustment of the «BRIGHT» light level
The “bright” light level can be adjusted up to twice the
intensity specification of “standard” level. The purpose of
this facility is to ensure adequate performance at installa-
tions with high levels of background lighting without risk-
ing glare at less well-lit installations. To adjust light level,
replace resistor plugs in accordance with table below.
7.2.2 On site Control
Once installed and with reference to the Installation Man-
ual (TUM6332), make sure that the system functionality is
as per the Installation Manual and specifications:
• Check the local on/off control
• Check the local standard/bright control:
the adjustment of the “BRIGHT” light level must be
checked against the intensity of the perimeter lights
(brightest of the three). The Circle lights must not be
brighter than the perimeter lights and H lights not
brighter than the Circle lights.
• Check that the remote control repeats the system
functionality as for the control cabinet (as relevant) by
performing the same tests.

10 OPERATION
10.1 Control Screen
The Control Screen contains control and monitoring of
Helideck lights. Each button controls one light circuit.
The circuits are toggled on and off by pressing and hold-
ing the button for 1 second.
From the Setup page, the circuits that are in use should
be selected. Only the selected circuits will show in the
Control screen.
Each button has four modes to represent circuit status:
Green: Circuit is on.
Grey: Circuit is off.
Red: Circuit is on with error.
Yellow: Circuit is off with error.
The available lights to control are:
Helideck lights: Turn on/off all Helideck lights. (Flood-
lights Dim and Circle & H and Status lights not included.)
Floodlight 1: Turn on/off Flood light circuit 1.
Floodlight 2 Turn on/off Flood light circuit 2.
Floodlight Dim: Activate standard/dim
brightness of Floodlight circuits.
Perimeter light 1: Turn on/off Perimeter light
circuit 1.
Perimeter light 2: Turn on/off Perimeter light
circuit 2.
Circle & H: Turn on/off Circle & H circuit.
Circle & H Bright: Activate standard/bright
brightness of Circle & H circuits.
Windsock: Turn on/off Windsock
circuit.
Obstruction light: Turn on/off Obstruction light
circuit.
Auxiliary light 1: Turn on/off Auxiliary light 1
circuit.
Auxiliary light 2: Turn on/off Auxiliary light 2
circuit.

10.2 Status Light Screen
The Status light screen contains control and monitoring
of the Status light system.
10.2.1 Suppress
The Suppress function is activated/deactivated by
pressing and holding the Suppress button for 4 seconds.
When suppressed the Status lights will not activate by
manual activation nor external Fire & Gas signal. Dim
function is also disabled in this mode.
Activate and Dim are reset when Suppress mode is ac-
tivated. External Fire & Gas signal is suppressed until
Suppress mode is deactivated.
When Suppress mode is activated, the following indica-
tion lights will blink at 1Hz interval: Activate button, Dim
Button, Main Light 1 lamp, Main light 2 fault lamp, Re-
peater light 1 fault lamp and Repeater light 2 fault lamp.

10.2.2 Activate (Manual activation)
The Activate function is activated/deactivated by press-
ing and holding the Activate button for 2 seconds.
Manual activation of Status lights will keep the Status
lights activate until:
• Manual deactivation.
• Suppress mode activation.
• Activate is not possible if the system is Suppressed or
if external Fire & Gas signal has activated the system.
10.2.3 Dim
The Dim function is activated/deactivated by pressing
and holding the Dim button for 2 seconds.
Dim of Status lights will keep the Status lights dimmed
until:
• Dim Timeout specified time has elapsed. (only
applicable if Dim Timeout is enabled in the Setup
screen.)
• Suppress mode activation.
• Dim mode deactivation.
• Manual Activation.
• Dim is not possible if the system is Suppressed.
10.2.4 Activation Timeout
Activation timeout will deactivate the Status light system
when the timer has elapsed. Default value is 30 minutes.
The Activation timeout is enabled in the Setup screen.
10.2.5 Dim Timeout
Dim timeout will deactivate the dimming function when
the timer has elapsed. Default value is 30 minutes. The
Dim timeout is enabled in the Setup screen.
10.2.6 Inspection Interval
Inspection interval is a time span of days which, when
counted down, will trigger an Inspection Required indi-
cator in the Status Light screen. The Operator can man-
ually enter the number of days for Inspection required
prompt. To reset the inspection timer the operator needs
to press the Inspection Reset button.
10.2.7 Status light Fault indicators
There are fiver Status Light fault indicators:
• Main Light 1 Fault: Blinking indicates light is
connected but error is present. Steady light indicates
Light is disconnected.
• Main Light 2 Fault: Blinking indicates light is
connected but error is present. Steady light indicates
Light is disconnected.
• Repeater Light 1 Fault: Blinking indicates light is
connected but error is present. Steady light indicates
Light is disconnected.
• Repeater Light 2 Fault: Blinking indicates light is
connected but error is present. Steady light indicates
Light is disconnected.
• MCB Fault: Steady light indicates error is present on
24VDC Power Supply distribution circuit breaker.

10.3.1 Activate Modbus TCP
If Modbus TCP is used for control and monitoring with
external control system this function is activated here.
For new connection, disable Modbus, enter IP-address
of Client, and finally enable Modbus again.
10.3.2 Choose language
These are the languages which can be chosen for this
application.

10.3.3 Internal Horn Audible Alarm.
This function will enable/disable the internal buzzer of
the HMI touch panel. When enabled the buzzer will acti-
vate when an alarm is present.
10.3.4 Helideck Lights Timeout
Helideck Lights Timeout will deactivate the «All Helideck
Lights On» function when the timer has elapsed. The
Button will be green when Enabled.

10.3.5 Local Remote Mode Enable
If there are two touch panels or one touch panel and
onePC running the HMI application there is the option
to use Local/Remote mode. When activated the Local
or Remote panel must use the “Take Control” button to
control the Helideck lights. When not in control a panel
will only be able to monitor the status of the Helideck
lights. If the remote panel does not have control and an
attempt is made to turn on a light circuit “Take Control”
button will display the following text: “ Local panel has
control”.
10.3.6 Panel is local
Enable this if the Panel is local.
10.3.7 Panel is remote
Enable this if the Panel is remote.

10.3.8 Enable lights for function
“All Helidecks Lights on”
This setup page dictates which light circuits are enabled
for the function “All Helideck Lights On”. F. ex if Flood
lights are to be exempt from the “All helideck lights on”
function one simply has to disable Flood lights with the
Enable button.

10.4 Alarms Screen
The Alarms Screen contain information of Alarms that
are currently active or acknowledged.
• An Alarm will blink when raised and unacknowledged.
• Ack Sel will acknowledge selected alarm.
• Ack All will acknowledge all alarms in list.
• Reset Sel will remove selected acknowledged alarms
from the list.
• Reset All will remove all acknowledged alarms from
the list.
