This Owner's Manual will provide you with valuable information necessary for the proper use,
care and maintenance of your new TravelScoot. Understanding how to safely operate and care
for your scooter should give you many years of trouble free scooting. Please take a few
moments and read these instructions thoroughly. It is very important that you familiarize

OperatingtheTravelScoot(pages21-23).
Warning:
The TravelScoot is designed for persons who have walking difficulties, but who are otherwise
stillfairlymobile.Personsshouldbeabletoload andunloadthe TravelScoot,setitupandfoldit
together. Persons who are confined to a wheelchair, and/or require constant personal care,
should usetheTravelScoot.
Below are some precautions, tips and other safety considerations that will help you become
accustomedtooperatingtheTravelScootsafely:
· This product is not a toy and is not recommended for use by persons younger than 14
yearsofage.
· To prevent misuse by children or others, disconnect the battery when the vehicle is
unattended.
· Always ensure that the power is turned before getting on or off the seat for any
reason.
· TravelScootisdesignedforusebyonepersononly.
· Checkallfoldinglocksandclampsbeforeuse.
· Aswithbicycles,itisstronglyrecommendedtowearahelmet.
· Always use your brakes when riding downhill. Do not allow your scooter to go faster
thanyoucouldwalkdownthehill.
· Practiceridinginlarge,openareas,freeofpedestrians,vehiclesandobstacles.
· Alwaysslowdown changingdirectionormakinghardturns.
· Donotoperateatnight,unlessadequatefrontandrearlightsareattached.
· Driving in extended wet conditions is not recommended. Avoid exposure to rain, snow,
ice,salt,orstandingwaterwheneverpossible.
· Maintainandstoreinacleananddrycondition.
· Beawarethatloosefittingclothingcanbecomecaughtinthedrivetires.
· The TravelScoot should only be ridden on smooth, hard and flat surfaces. It is not
designedforoff-roadoroff-roadlikeconditions.
· Investigateandcomplywithalllocallawsregardingpersonalmobilityscooteruse.
· Useyourcommonsense.
· Take your time learning to drive the TravelScoot and read the

Pre-Ride Safety Check
Legality
Get to know the feel of your TravelScoot and its capabilities. We recommend you perform a
safety check before each use to make sure your TravelScoot operates smoothly and safely.
Pleasecheck:
· BatteryConnectors:Makesuretheyareconnectedandnotcorroded.
· Batteryischargedsufficiently.
· Lockingpins:Makesuretheyarefullylocked.
· Brakeleversandbrakes.
· Brakecablesarenotwrappedaroundsteeringyoke.
NOTE: As you begin using your TravelScoot, you will probably encounter situations in which
you will need some practice. Simply take your time and you will soon be in full and confident
control as you maneuver through doorways, on and off elevators, up and down ramps, and
overmoderateterrain.
Because electric vehicles withmore than two wheelsand for oneperson only are consideredas
handicapped vehicles, you are permitted and entitled to use it wherever you would walk.
Before driving on public streets, check the law with your local authorities. The regulations for
streetuseforsuchvehiclesmaydifferfromprovincetoprovince.

NOTE: Setting up your TravelScoot for the first time may require a little extra time. Be patient.
Withpractice,you'llbeabletodoitsimplyandquicklyinjustafewshortminutes.
Remove all components of the TravelScoot from the TravelScoot carry bag. Please ensure you
havethefollowing (Pleaserefertocomponentdiagramonpage5):
· Main Frame (1) Seat (7)

· Caddy (4) (located in the front pocket of the

NOTE: Your TravelScoot may have been test driven at the factory, and the wheels may show
signsofthatusage.
1. Attach the Front Wheel
2.UnfoldyourTravelScoot
Attach the front wheel to the main frame of the TravelScoot by
inserting it into the steering stem. Make sure that the spring
loadedbuttonlocksintothecorrespondinghole(Figure1).
NOTE: If you have the Shopper model, the front wheel is
permanentlyattached.
TherearetwooptionsforunfoldingyourTravelScoot
UnfoldyourTravelScootwhileitisontheground
· Reach underneath the steering stem and press one of the
lockingpinsin(Figure2).
NOTE: If the locking pins are difficult to depress, rotate the
handlebarsleft/rightuntilthelockingpinsrelease.
· You can now unfold the trailing arm partially (Figure 3).
Repeattheprocedurefortheothertrailingarm.
· Lift the steering stem upwards (Figure 4) until both trailing
armslockintoplacewithanaudible“click”(Figure5).

Option B:
2. Unfold your TravelScoot
Unfoldyourscooterfromtheuprightposition.
· Stand the scooter on its rear wheels with the underside facing away from you (Figure
6).
· Grasp the scooter by the steering stem with one hand and depress one of the locking
pins(Figure7).
· While the pin is depressed pull the steering stem away from the unlocked trailing arm
andallowittoswingoutward(Figure8).
· Stop part way as the trailing arm will not lock into position without the other arm
released(Figure9).
· Repeat for the remaining trailing arm and lift up on the steering stem until both trailing
armslockintoplacewithanaudible“click”(Figure10).
· Make sure that both trailing arms are locked in place (
)(Figure11).
NOTE: If for some reason one or both of the arms do not snap into place, a gentle wiggling
ofthesteeringstemshoulddothetrick.

3. Handlebar Assembly and Height Adjustment
· Insert the handgrips into the T-handle atop the steering stem. Make sure the spring
loadedbuttonslockintothecorrespondingholes(Figure12).
· Unfolded and on its wheels, locate the steering stem clamp. Loosen it and adjust the
handlebarheighttoyourpreferenceandlockinplace(Figure13).
· At this time, ensure the on/off switch mounted on the left side of the handle bars is in
theoffposition(Figure14).
4.BatteryInstallation*
(* The TravelScoot Battery is shipped from the factory with a small charge and should be
fully charged before its initial use.) Please see Batteries in Section Battery Care and
Information(pages15-18)formoreinformation.
· Install the fully charged battery into the Velcro lined battery tray between the rear
wheelsoftheScooter(Figure15).
· Connect the battery plug to the corresponding plug on the TravelScoot motor (Figure
16).
· SecurethebatterywiththetwoVelcrostraps(Figure17).

5. Seat Assembly
· Inserttheyokeintothereceptaclesonthebatterytray(Figure18).
One stem of the yoke is smaller and is to be inserted in the right side receptacle that has
thetighteningclamp.Itis importanttoinsert both stemsfully intothetwo recepticlesat
thesametime.
· Oncetheyokeisinplace,tightentheleverclampontherightreceptacle(Figure19).
· Installtheseatinthetopoftheyokeandtightentheclamp(Figure20).
To adjust the height of the seat, you may use the seat spacers provided.It is strongly
recommended to keep the TravelScoot seat as low as possible, while still
comfortable. The higher the seat is mounted, the more centrifugal forces you will
experience and curves will have to be negotiated at a lower than normal speed.
(Figures21a,c-Correct)/Figures21b,d-Incorrect).
· Insert the seat backrest elbow into the back of the seat, depress the spring lock and
slideinplaceuntilthespringlockisthroughtotheotherside(Figure22).
NOTE: The lever clamps may need to be adjusted from time to time to hold the seat
andthe yoke inplace.Testto makesureseat issecurein theyokeandtheyokeissecure
inthereceptacles(Ifleveristoolooseortootight,removetheseatpostandadjust).
Attention! When adjusting the seat, you should not be able to see any of the
seat post. The bottom of the seat should be flush with the yoke or flush with
theseatspacers.

6. Installing the Fabric Caddy
The Fabric Caddy is ideal for carrying lightweight items such as jackets, cameras etc. To
fastenthefabriccaddytoyourTravelScoot:
· Align the Velcro straps on the fabric caddy with the corresponding six Velcro rings
locatedontheTravelScoottrailingarmsandsecurefirmly(Figure23).
· TheseVelcrostrapsshouldbecheckedfromtimetotimeastheymayloosenwithuse.
· Individuals requiring a stepping hole for their foot closer to the seat when getting on
and/orofftheTravelScootmaywishnottousetheCaddy.
· When travelling, you may place a small suitcase (of the size permitted by airlines for
carry-onluggage)acrossthe trailing arms.Itwillfit neatlyunderneaththeseatandyour
legs (Figure24).
NOTE: The backrest on the TravelScoot can be adjusted for your comfort. Simply loosen
the two bolts connecting the back rest to the stem. Move the back rest to the desired
locationandre-tightenthetwobolts.

TherearetwooptionsforfoldingyourTravelScoot
· Ensure that the on/off switch located on the left handlebar is in the off position (Figure
25).
· Slidethesteeringstemdownallthewaybyreleasingtheclamp(Figure26).
· Removetheseatbackbydepressingthespringloadedbutton(Figure27).
FoldYourTravelScootbutkeepitaccessibleforfrequentuse.
· Releasetheclampundertheseatandremovetheseat(Figure28).
· Releasetheclampontherightyokereceptacleandremovetheyoke(Figure29).
· Disconnect the battery by squeezing the battery connector button, and loosen the
Velcrostrapstoremovethebattery(Figure30).
· With all three tires on the ground, locate and depress one of the locking pins for the
trailingarm(Figure31).
· Grasp the steering stem and wheel on the side you released the locking pin, and move
towardtheunlockedtrailingarm,allowingittofold(Figure32).
· Repeatthisprocedurewiththeothertrailingarm.

elsewhere in your home, readily accessible for your next trip out. The great thing about the

· Now that you have both trailing arms unlocked, tilt the steering stem downward while
allowingthetrailingarms to foldtogether (Figure 33). Continue foldinguntil youhear
twoaudibleclicks(Figure34).
· Yourscooterisnowlockedinthefoldedposition.
Fold your TravelScoot
OptionB:
CompleteDisassembly
This option would be used if you wished to store everything in the compact carryingbag for
travellingwithcheckedbaggage(SeeTravellingwithyourTravelScoot).
FollowallproceduresfromOptionAandadditionally:
· Remove both handgrips from the T-handle so that they hang down by depressing the
springloadedbuttonstounlock(Figure35).
· RemovethefabricCaddyfromthetrailingarms(Figure36).
· Remove the front wheel from the main frame of the TravelScoot by depressing the
springloadedbuttontounlock(Figure37).

· Place the battery into the centre of the carrying bag and secure it with the Velcro straps
attachedinsidethecarrybag(Figure38).
NOTE: Please make sure the connector is not under the battery or you may damage it. You
may wish to pack the battery in the foam tray the battery was originally shipped in (Figure
38a).
· Lift the folded frame and gently lower it into the carrying bag. The frame's cavity
betweenthetrailingarmswillfitperfectlyoverthebattery(Figure39).
NOTE: Ensure the battery is between the trailing arms and NOT underneath either trailing
arm.Riskofdamagetothebatterycouldoccur.
· Placethefrontwheelintothefrontsectionofthebag(Figure40).
· Separate the backrest from the seat and put the seat cushion close to the front section
with its rear facing upwards and its stem pointing down toward the left trailing arm
(Figure41).
IMPORTANT: between

Battery Charging Procedures
UnderstandingtheBatteryCharger
Signal Status
Battery Charging Times
YourTravelScootLithium-Ionbatteryisshippedwithasmallchargethat isusedtotesttheunit.
It is necessary to charge the battery before initial use. must
IMPORTANT:
The battery be removed
fromtheTravelScootinordertoaccessthebatterychargingreceptacle.
The battery smart charger supplied with your TravelScoot is specifically designed to be used
withtheTravelScootLithiumIonBattery.Donotusewithotherbatterypacks.
To charge the battery, first plug the charger into the AC outlet. You should now see a red light
indicatingthatthechargeris pluggedin. Nowplugthechargerinto thebattery. A secondlight
to the left will indicate that the battery is plugged in (red indicates charging, green indicates
fullycharged).
Connect the charger to the AC power BEFORE plugging the charger into the
battery.Reversingthisorderwillresultinchargingfailure.
During charging, the status indicator turns RED. When completely charged, it turns GREEN.
The following are charger light indicators:
Initiation of Charger Flashes Red 3 times
Charge in Progress Constant Red
Battery is full Constant Green
Battery is removed OFF
Charger output short Quick green flash
Bad battery Flash Red in blur,
then quick Green flash
Over Temperature Flashing Green
NOTE:TheTravelScootbatteryisshippedwithasmallchargethatisusedtotesttheunitatthe
factory.Itisnecessarytochargethebatterybeforeinitialuse.
