These instructions for use enable safe use of the
TROX X filter mask.
We recommend reading and understanding these
instructions prior to use.
Correct use
The X filter mask is a pandemic breathing mask and
protects against Covid-19 infection. It has been
tested in accordance with the testing principles for
Corona SARS-Cov-2 pandemic breathing masks,
Rev. 2 dated 02.06.2020, by a suitable testing body.

Safety instructions
CAUTION!
To use the masks, observe the following points:
– The mask and insert filter must be suitable
for the application.
– Breathing protection may not be used if
the concentration, type and characteris-
tics of the contaminants are not known.
– The mask must never be used in envi-
ronments with less than 17% oxygen
(recommendation ≥19.5%).
– Do not use the mask if facial hair in the area
of the sealing rim prevents the mask from
forming a seal.
– Insert the insert filter correctly and attach the
mask as instructed.
– Wear the filter mask for the entire duration of
time spent in the risk zone.
– Replace the insert filter:
– when there is increased breathing
resistance
– at the end of your shift.
– If the mask gets damaged, leave the risk
zone immediately and replace the mask.
– Never carry out any modifications or repairs
to the mask.
WARNING!
Leave the risk zone immediately if:
– breathing becomes difficult
– if you experience dizziness or other com-
plaints
– the mask gets damaged.
– If you begin to smell or taste the hazardous
substance or encounter any irritation.
Material
Mask material: 65% polyester / 35% cotton
Straps: boil-proof synthetic rubber
Insert filter: prefilter and primary filter made
from 100% polypropylene, meltblown
Nose piece: polyethylene
Bearing
Please note:
Store the mask only in its original packaging
Store away from weather and direct sunlight.
Protect the product from humidity, dust and
contamination
Storage temperature: -20 °C to 25 °C.
Relative humidity: 80 % max., no condensation
Aging resistance
After a storage life of 5 years, the masks may no
longer be used.
Cleaning and disinfection
After each use, wash the masks without insert filter
at 60 degrees and then dry them fully. The filter
mask can be used 50 times; after this it must be
disposed of. The insert filters may not be washed or
re-used.
Disposal
Dispose of used insert filters and masks with the
household waste in accordance with national regu-
lations.

Attaching the mask
Before unpacking the masks, wash your hands and
disinfect them if necessary.
If required, remove any protective glasses or visual
aids.
1. Remove the mask from the packaging and
insert the insert filter, Fig. 2.
2. Hold the mask at the neck loop (Fig. 1/4)
using both hands and draw it up and over
your head until it reaches the nape of your
neck.
3. Tie the open head straps (Fig. 1/2) behind
your head (above the ears).
4. Adjust the nose piece to the shape of your
nose.
Checking the seal
1. Place both hands on the mask without
pressing the mask to the face.
2. To check for leakage, breathe out strongly.
If air escapes, check that the mask is fitted
correctly:
Nose: readjust the nose piece to fit the
nose.
Rim of mask: adjust the head straps or
tie a knot.
3. Check again to make sure the mask has
formed a seal.
If the mask has not formed a correct seal, do not
enter the risk zone Þ Inform your superior!
Removing the mask
Before removing the masks, wash your hands and
disinfect them if necessary.
If required, remove any protective glasses or visual
aids.
1. Loosen the head straps (Fig. 1/2) and bring
them forward.
2. Extend the neck loop (Fig. 1/3) by pulling the
filter cloth (Fig. 1/1).
3. Draw the neck loop over the head towards
the front.
4. Remove the insert filter from the mask and
dispose of it immediately in a bin; do not
leave it down on any surface.
5. Clean the mask according to the instruc-
tions.
6. Then wash your hands and disinfect them if
necessary.
