Truma AquaGo®, referred to as AquaGo below.
Intended use
The Professional decalcification kit for AquaGo
is used to decalcify AquaGo instant water heat-
ers. Other applications are not approved.
Functional description
The Professional decalcification kit for AquaGo
pumps a decalcification solution through the
AquaGo instant water heater with the aid of a
circulation pump. This dissolves and flushes out
calcium residues.

For decalcification you will also need the
following:
• Acid-resistant bucket with a capacity of at
least 2gallons (7.5 l)
• Personal protective equipment

Safety instructions
The operating instructions supplied with the
AquaGo instant water heater are part of these
operating instructions for the Professional de-
calcification kit for AquaGo.
Read and follow this information to avoid
injuries during installation and operation.

Other important information or tips
Installation and service must be performed
by an expert. Improper installation, altera-
tion, service or maintenance can cause
property damage, personal injury or loss of
life.
California Proposition 65 lists chemical sub-
stances known to the state to cause cancer,
birth defects, death, serious illness or other re-
productive harm. This product may consist of
such substances or such substances may be
formed from components of the product.
Injuries caused by the Easy Drain Lever!
• Never actuate the Easy Drain Lever as long
as the AquaGo is under water pressure
and/or is still hot.

Sensitive surfaces (e. g. marble)
may be damaged through contact with the
decalcification agent. Immediately remove
splashes of decalcification agent on these
surfaces.
Keep decalcification product/solution safe
from unauthorized access (e.g. children and
animals).
For safety reasons, once the decalcification
process has started it must not be stopped
until the system has been flushed (see “Flush-
ing the water system”, page 11).
Danger of crushing/pinching of fingers
when the Easy Drain Lever is closed!
Never put fingers between Easy Drain Lever
and water inlet filter or latch.
The use of non-original AquaGo profes-
sional decalcification (e.g. vinegar) for de-
calcification can cause chemical reactions
and produce hazardous substances that
could enter the drinking water supply.
• Do not mix AquaGo professional decal-
cification with other substances to avoid
chemical reactions and production of haz-
ardous substances.
• Only use AquaGo professional decalcifica-
tion to decalcify the AquaGo to avoid:
– chemical reactions and production of
hazardous substances,
– damage to your AquaGo,
– and the voiding of your warranty.
– Call your local AquaGo dealer or service
provider or see www.truma.net for more
information to obtain AquaGo profes-
sional decalcification.

Irritation of skin and eyes in case of con-
tact with decalcification agent
Wear protective gloves, eye protection and
face protection to avoid contact.
• Never use the water supply in the RV dur-
ing decalcification.
• In case of skin contact with the decalcifica-
tion agent, immediately rinse the affected
area with plenty of water.
• In case of eye contact, hold eyelid open and
rinse with running water for 10 – 15min.
Remove contact lenses, if present and easy
to do. Continue rinsing. Consult an eye
specialist.
• If you swallow the decalcification agent,
immediately rinse your mouth and drink
plenty of water in small sips. Do not vomit.
Consult a doctor.
Risk of damage in frosty
conditions. In frosty conditions there is a risk
that water in pipes, faucets and appliances
could freeze. This can cause considerable
damage. For more information see “Winter
operation” in the operating instructions for the
AquaGo instant water heater.

Operating instructions
Decalcification takes about 2.5 hours.
If, during installation, it is difficult to install
the filter cartridge or circulation adapter,
use a small amount of soap on the O-rings.
Never use grease because the O-rings are not
resistant to grease.
You will find more information about the
access door in the operating instructions
for the AquaGo instant water heater.
Decalcification frequency
Lime scale occurs especially as a result of pre-
cipitation from “hard” water. The AquaGo must
be decalcified regularly depending on water
hardness and hot water consumption.

Preparing for decalcification
• Dissolve 5 AquaGo professional decalcifica-
tion tablets in an acid-resistant bucket in
1.3gallons (5 l) of drinking water. (Duration
approx. 10 min.).
• Open the access door of the AquaGo.
(See “Opening the access door” in the op-
erating instructions for the AquaGo instant
water heater.)
• Switch the AquaGo off at the
POWERswitch(6).
• Open the hot water faucet and wait until
cold water comes.
• Leave the hot water faucet open in order to
depressurize and vent the water system.
• Interrupt the water supply.
• Wait until no more water runs and the water
system is depressurized.
• Attach “Attention Decalcification” signs to all
water withdrawal points (included with the
AquaGo professional decalcification kit).
Connecting the circulation pump
• Remove the water inlet filter. (see Figure 4)

If the O-rings are damaged or
missing, the decalcification solution may
leak during the decalcification process.
Before inserting the circulation adapter (9),
check that the O-rings are in place and intact
(see Figure 2, page 2).
• Insert the circulation adapter (9) and close
the Easy Drain Lever (1) (see Figure 5).

• Place the circulation pump (10) and outlet
hose (2) in the bucket with the decalcifica-
tion solution. (see Figure 6)

Carrying out the decalcification
process
Damage to circulation pump (10)
if it runs dry. Make sure that the circulation
pump (10) is immersed before you switch on
the power (see Figure 6).
• Remove the socket (4) from the control pan-
el(7) of the AquaGo and connect it with the
plug (5).
• Run the circulation pump (10) for 2 hours un-
der supervision.

Cleaning the circulation pump
• Remove the socket (4) from the plug (5).
• Dispose of the remaining decalcification
product in accordance with the statutory
regulations of the respective country in
which it is used.
• Place the circulation pump (10) and the out-
let hose (2) in a bucket with drinking water.
• Connect the socket (4) and the plug (5).
Run the circulation pump (10) for about
5minutes.
• Unplug the socket (4) from the plug (5) and
remove the circulation pump (10) from the
bucket.

Flushing the water system
• Remove the circulation adapter (9) and insert
the water inlet filter.
• Restore the water supply and, if applicable,
switch on the water pump.
• Allow water to run through all water with-
drawal points for approximately 5 minutes
until:
– the water is clear and has no red coloring;
– there is no more air in the water system.
• Remove the signs and close the water with-
drawal points.
• Plug the socket (4) on to the control panel(7)
of the AquaGo and switch it on at the POWER
switch (6).
• Close the access door of the AquaGo.
(See “Closing the access door” in the operat-
ing instructions for the AquaGo instant water
heater.)
Decalcification is finished.
Stopping decalcification
If decalcification is stopped prematurely, the
circulation pump (10) must always be cleaned
(see “Cleaning the circulation pump”, page10)
and the water system must be flushed (see
“Flushing the water system”, page 11).

This limited warranty pertains solely to the
“Professional decalcification kit for AquaGo”
(the “Product”) manufactured by TRUMA and
sold through its affiliates and dealers in North
America.
TRUMA warrants subject to the below stated
conditions that the Product will be free from
defects in material and workmanship, and will
perform in accordance with the technical speci-
fications set forth in the description of the Prod-
uct for a period of twelve (12) months for newly
manufactured parts from the original date of
purchase. This limited warranty shall only apply
if the Product was properly installed according
to the installation instructions provided and in
compliance with applicable codes.
During the warranty period, TRUMA will repair
or replace, at its own discretion and costs, the
defective Product or parts or components of
such Product reported to TRUMA and which
TRUMA determines was defective due to a war-
ranty defect. Costs of diagnosis for a warranty
defect are borne by TRUMA. Other costs of di-
agnosis are not included in this warranty. At the
discretion of TRUMA, the replacement of the
Product or parts or components thereof (i) may
be newly manufactured, (ii) may be assembled
from new or serviceable used parts that are
equivalent to new parts in performance, or (iii)
may have been previously installed.
The customer shall not attempt to repair
the Product or resolve the problem without
the prior consent of TRUMA. Any attempt
by the customer to repair the Product or
resolve the problem without the prior con-
sent of TRUMA will void this warranty.

This limited warranty does not cover any defects
attributable in whole or in part to (i) non-TRUMA
products and services and / or alterations of
out-of-specification supplies, (ii) accidents, mis-
use, negligence or failure of the customer to
follow instructions for the proper use, care and
cleaning of the Product, (iii) damages caused in
gas pressure regulation systems due to foreign
substances in the gas (i.e. oil, plasticizers), (iv)
external factors (e.g., fire, flood, severe weath-
er), (v) failure of proper transport packaging,
or (vi) failure by the purchaser to comply with
TRUMA’s installation and user manual regard-
ing the Product.

authorized warranty service center in the United

The purchaser shall provide the following
information regarding the potential warranty
claim (i) serial number of the defective device,

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED AND SET
FORTH HEREIN, THERE ARE NO WARRAN-
TIES OR REPRESENTATIONS, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, CONCERNING THE PRODUCT
AND NO SUCH WARRANTIES OR REPRE-
SENTATIONS SHALL BE IMPLIED UNDER
ANY APPLICABLE LAW, IN EQUITY OR
OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMI-
TATION, A WARRANTY OF MERCHANT-
ABILITY, A WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR
A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ANY OTHER
WARRANTY WHICH MAY BE IMPLIED UN-
DER COMMON LAW OR UNDER THE UNI-
FORM COMMERCIAL CODE OF ANY STATE
OR OTHER JURISDICTION OF THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA.

Unless further limited herein, the entire liability
of TRUMA and the customer’s exclusive remedy
for damages from any cause related to or
arising out of a warranty defect, regardless of
the form of action, whether in contract or in
tort, will not exceed the amount of the purchase
price for each purchase order for the Product
which is the subject matter or directly related to
the causes of action asserted.
Unless prohibited under applicable state law, in
no event will TRUMA, its agents, subcontrac-
tors, affiliates, suppliers and employees be li-
able for (a) any incidental, indirect, special or
consequential damages, including, but not lim-
ited to, loss of use, revenue, profits or savings,
substitute rental or for any other reason, even if
TRUMA knew or should have known of the pos-
sibility of such losses or damages, (b) claims,
demands or actions against the customer by
any person, except as provided by applicable
law.
