Thismachine mustonlybe used forthe
manufacturer’sapproved application.Donot
use the machine whereitissuspected thatthe

When using electrical equipmentbasicsafety
precautionsshouldbe followed including the

•Onlyreplacethe supplycordwiththe type
specified intheinstruction manual.

1.2Guidelines fortheoperator

manoeuvre,transportand operatethe
machines.
•Operatorsshouldbe abletorecogniseunusual
operation ofthe machine and reportany
problems.
•Onlyusethe machine onfirmlevelsurfaces.
•Wearsuitablefootweartoavoidslipping.
•Wearsuitableclothingtokeep dryand warm.
•Wherepossibleimplementjob rotation and
adequaterestperiodstoavoidcontinuoususe
of the samemuscles.
•Do not leavemachine running unattended
•Do not smokewhen using the machine.
•Do notputanyobjectsintoopenings.Do not
usewithanyopening blocked:keep free of
dust, debris,hair,oranything thatmayreduce
airflow.

stop cleaning the area immediatelyand
consult yoursuperior.

thoseapproved bythe manufacturer.
The useofotheraccessoriesmayimpair
the safetyofthe machine.
•Ensurethe machine isswitched off before
adding orchanging accessories.
1.3Transportingthemachine
CAUTION –Incorrectlifting techniques
mayresultinpersonalinjury, where
applicabledo notlift large and heavy
machineswithout assistance. Weadvisethatthe
manual handling regulationsarefollowed.
Pleaserefertothe technicaltablefordetailson
weight ofmachine.
When transporting the machine ensurethatall
components,tanksand removablepartsare
securelyfastened,and thatthe supplycordand
plug arenot trailing. Detachhoseand wandfrom
machine whereapplicable.
Takeextremecarewhen moving the machine up
ordownstepsorstairs.
2.Preparing foruse

Beforeconnecting the machine tothe power
supply,check thatyoursupplyvoltage
correspondswiththatmarked on the ratinglabel.
The powersupplycordplusanyextension leads
shouldnotexceed 30mintotal.The cross-
section ofanyextension cablewiring mustbe at
least 2,5mm².
Shouldan extension cordbe used,ensurecord
rating isadequateforthe equipment.Do notuse
extension cordincoiled condition asthiscould
result inoverheating of the cord.
UK only
The supplycordfor230vmodelsisfitted witha
plug containing a13 ampfuse.Shouldthe fuse
requirereplacementit must onlybe replaced bya
13 ampfuseconforming toBS1362,and the fuse
covermust be refitted. Ifthe fusecoverislost the
plug mustnotbe useduntil the correct
replacement coverisfitted.
IMPORTANT -Ifthe supplycordisdamaged,it
mustonlybe replaced byasuitablecord
availablefromthe manufactureroran authorised
serviceagent.

2.3How toassemblethevacuum
WARNING-Before undertaking
assemblyorchanging of
accessories/toolsswitchoff machine
and unplug fromtheelectricitysupply.
2.3.1Attaching thehandle
•Afterfirstremoving the handle
screw,inserthandleintothe hole
on top ofthe vacuumcleaner.
Ensuring the hosehangeris
positioned atthe rearofthe
machine (Fig1).
•Line up the smallholeon the
handlewiththe smallholeon the
vacuumcleanerand insertthe
screw.Makesurethe screwis
tightened securely.

2.3.2Attaching thetelescopicwand
•Pushthe wandontothe hoseattachment.
•Insertthe wand intothe quick drawattachment
holderpositioned on the side ofthe machine.
3.Controls
•Toturnthe vacuumon, pushthe switchlocated
on the dust compartmenttothe (I)position.
•Toturnthe vacuumoff, pushthe switchlocated
on the dust compartmenton the (0)position.
4.Operation
4.1How tochangethedustbag
Always operatethevacuumcleaner with a
dustbaginstalled.
•Unplug the vacuumcleaner.Removethe used
bag fromthebag holder(Fig.2).
•Attachthe newdustbag ontothe bag holder
(Fig. 3).
•Spread outtheendofthe newdustbag (Fig.
4).
•Reinsertthe tab on the end ofthe dustcover
intothe grooveon the dustcompartment
housing.Press itintoplaceand fasten the dust
covertightly(Fig. 5).
4.2Handleadjustment
The handleon thisvacuumcleanercan be setto
one of three positions–upright, middle,orlow.
Toreleasethe handle, step on the pedal atthe
leftrearcornerofthe vacuumcleaner
1.Middleposition–fornormal cleaning
2.Upright position –forwhen cleaning toolsare
used orforstorage. Handlelocksinthis
position.
3.Lowposition –forcleaning underfurniture.
*Onceinthemiddleposition,step on the pedal
at the left rearcornerofthe vacuumand pull
back the handleagaintoplacethe vacuumtothe
lowposition.
4.3Usingthehose and tools
Whenusing the hoseand toolspleaseensurethe
handleislocked intothe upright position and that
the brushhead istilted upwardstopreventthe
brushrunning inplaceonthe carpet.
The Valet Upright Vacisequipped withon-board
cleaning toolsincluding telescopicwand, stretch
hose, dusting brushand acrevicetool.
1.Removethe extension wand fromthe bodyof
the vacuumcleanerand attachanytools
ontothe end ofthe wand.
4.4Edgecleaning feature
The edge cleaning featureprovidesimproved
cleaning of carpetsnearwallsand stationary
furniture. Formaximumedge cleaning,usethe
leftside of the vacuumnearwallsorstationary
furniture.
5.Storage
•Afterusecheck the bag.
Iffull,replacethe bag.
•Wind the supplycord
ensuring thatthe plug is
nottrailing on the floor
(Fig6).
•Storethe machine inadry
indoorarea only.
6.Maintenance
WARNING -Before undertaking
maintenance operationsor
adjustmentsswitchoff machineand
unplugfromtheelectricitysupply.
The machine requiresminimummaintenance
apartfromthe following checksbythe operator.
•Supplycord–Regularlyinspectsheath,plug
and cordanchoragefordamage orloose
connection.
•Bodyofthe machine –Clean withadamp
cloth.

6.1Secondary Filter
YourTruvoxvacuumcleanerisequipped witha
secondary filterand aHEPAfilter.Thesefilters
capturefine dust particlesand protectthe motor
fromdirt.Accumulated dirtinthe dust
compartment willbe collected on thisfilterand
mayrestrictmotorperformance.It isimportantto
inspect and change thesefiltersregularly.
ToChangeSecondary Filter:
1.Unplug the vacuumcleaner.Removethe bag
compartment coverand the bag.
2.Removethe secondary filterand replacewith
anewfilter(Fig. 7).
3.Replacethe bag and bag compartment
cover.
NOTE: Secondary filterscannot be washed
and used again.
TochangetheHEPAfilter
1.Unplug the vacuumcleaner. Removethe bag
compartment coverand the bag.
2.Removethe HEPA filterand replacewitha
newfilter(Fig.8).
3.Replacethe bag and bag compartment
cover.
6.2Replacingdrive belt
CAUTION: Unplug the vacuumcleanerbefore
performing anyofthesesteps.
Remove theBottomPlate.
1.Placevacuumcleanerinthe lowposition by
using the handlereleasepedal.Then,turnthe
vacuumcleanerover, exposing the underside.
2.Removethe screwsholding the lowerplatein
place.
3.Removethe bottomplate.
Replacing thebelt.
1.Turnthe unitoverand removethe lowerplate
asdescribed inthe preceding section.
2.Removethe agitatorholder(Fig.9).Takeout
the agitatorassemblyand removebelt fromthe
agitatorpulleyand the motordriveshaft (Fig.
10 &11).
3.Loop the newbeltaround the agitatorpulley
and the motordriveshaft.
4.Reinsertthe agitatorassemblybackinto
housing (Fig12). Turnthe agitatorassemblyby
hand,making surethe beltisnottwisted and
allrotating partsmovesmoothly(Fig. 13).
5.Reinsertthe agitatorholder.Besurethatthe
agitatorholderisinplacebeforefastening the
lowerplate.
6.Hookthe front end oflowerplatetothe tworibs
atthe frontend ofthe housing.Pressthe lower
plateintoplaceand replacescrewstoholdit.
NOTE:Toensuremaximumcleaning efficiency,
the beltshouldbe checked regularlytobe sureit
isingood condition.Checktosee ifthe beltis
stretched,cracked,orifexcessiveslipping is
occurring.Replaceitif needed.
6.3Replacing theagitatorassembly
Brushesshouldbe replaced when theyareworn
orwhen the bristledoesnottouchacardthatis
heldacrossthe nozzle.You shouldreplaceall
fourbrushesatthe sametimeinorderto
maintaingood cleaning efficiency.
RemoveE-clipfirstfromagitatorshaftbyusing
screwdriver.Then removethe end cap atright
end byholding the agitatorassembly. Pullout the
agitatorshaft fromthe left end.
NOTE:Takecarenottodeformthe agitatorshaft.
Nowthe brushescan be removedeasily.After
inserting the newbrushes,re-install the agitator
pulleyand agitatorholder,making suretheyare
completelyand firmlyinserted.Reinstall other
partsfollowing the stepsinreverse.
Besurethe end capsandfiltersareinplace
beforefitting the E-clipback intoplace.Reinstall
the agitatorassemblyasdescribed inpreceding
section.

6.4Cleaningthenozzlehose
CAUTION: Unplug the vacuumcleanerbefore
performing anyofthesesteps.
The nozzlehose,located on the back ofthe
vacuumcleaner,carriesthe dirtfromthe nozzle
tothe filterbag.Thehosealsofunctionsasthe
attachment cleaninghose.
Ifthe hoseshouldbecomeclogged:
1.Pulloutand turnthe lidofthe hose
attachmentopening.Removethe clog or
blockage (Fig.14).
2.Ifthe abovestep isnot enough, removehose
cuff fromthe nozzleinlet(Fig.15).Turnthe
unitoverand unscrewandremovethe
bottomplate(see "HowToRemoveBottom
Plate.").Checknozzleinlettube for
obstructions.Cleartube and reinstall the
bottomplate.

operatecontactTruvoxCustomerService
Department forrapidattention.
6.5Clearingthehose
•Removethe quickdrawwand fromtheside of
the machine.
•Disconnect the quickdrawclean out by
pressing the twolatches on eitherside (Fig16).
•Straightenthe lowerpart ofthe hoseand clear
anyblockages(Fig17).
7.After sales service
Truvoxmachinesarehigh qualitymachinesthat
havebeen tested forsafetybyauthorised
technicians. Itisalwaysapparent that afterlonger
working periods, electricaland mechanical
componentswillshowsignsofwearand tearor
ageing.
Underextremeorspecialised conditionsand/or
insufficient maintenance, shortermaintenance
intervalsarenecessary. UseonlyoriginalTruvox
spareparts. Use ofother spare partswill
invalidateall warrantyand liabilityclaims.
Shouldyou requireaftersalesserviceplease
contactthe supplierfromwhomyou purchased
the machine,who will arrange service. Repairs
and servicing of Truvoxproductsshouldonlybe
performedbytrained staff. Improperrepairscan
causeconsiderabledangerstothe user.

8.Guarantee
Yourproductisguaranteed forone yearfromthe
dateoforiginalpurchase, orhirepurchase,
against defectsinmaterialsorworkmanship
during manufacture.Withinthe guarantee period

replacefree of charge tothe purchaser, anypart
found tobe defective, subjecttothe following
