designedforthe collection ofdustinindoor
areas. It should not be used inoutdoorareas.
The following instructionscontainimportant
information aboutthemachineand safetyadvice
forthe operator.
Equipment mustbe operated,servicedand
maintainedinaccordancewith the
manufacturer’sinstructions.
Ifindoubt contactthesupplierof your
machine.

1.1 Important SafetyAdvice
When using electricalequipment basicsafety
precautionsshouldbefollowedincludingthe
following.
•Read allinstructionscarefullybefore use.
•Beforeusingthe appliance, checkthat the
mainspowervoltagecorrespondswiththe
voltage shown on the data plate.
•Do not leavemachineunattended when
plugged in.
•Keepchildrenandunauthorisedpersons
awayfromthe machine when in use.
•Do not leavethemachineconnected to the
electricitysupplywhen not inuse,always
remove the plug fromthe socket-outlet.
•Do not operateswitchesortouchthe mains
plugwith wethandsasthismaycauseelectric
shock.
•Switchoff the machinebeforeremoving the
plug.
•When unplugging pulltheplug, not the supply
cord.
•Do not operate themachine with adamaged
supplycordorplug, orafterthe machine
malfunctionsorisdamaged inanyway.

repairoradjustment.
•The plugofthe powersupplymustbe
removed fromthe socket-outletbefore
commencing cleaning ofthe machine or
undertaking maintenance operations.
•The powersupplycordmustbe regularly
inspectedforsignsofdamage. Ifthe power
supplycordisdamaged,ithasto be replaced.
•Do not use to pickup moisture oranyliquids.
•Do not usewherehazardousdust ispresent.
•Do not useinan explosiveatmosphere.
•Do not use tovacuumup sharp objects.
•Do not pickup oil orotherflammablematerial.
•Takecarewhen using machine nearthe top
ofstairs to avoid overbalancing.
•Do not usethe applianceto vacuumlighted
cigarettes,hotashesandothercombustible
objects,
•Donot usethe appliancetovacuumtiny
particleslikecement orplasterdustasthiswill
shorten life ofthe motors.
•Donot blockairflow, blocking the suctionin
anyway(blocked filters, blocked hose orfull
dust bag)willdecreasethe efficiencyandwill
shorten the life ofmotor.
•Donot run thevacuumcleaneroverthe
powercable.
•Keephair, loose clothing, fingers and allparts
ofbodyawayfromopeningsand moving
parts.
1.2 Guidelines forthe operator
•Onlyuse the machine on firmlevelsurfaces.
•Operators mustbe fullytrained intheuseof
the machine inaccordancewiththese
instructionsand beableto performuser
maintenance.
•Operators shouldbe physicallycapableto
manoeuvre,transportand operatethe
machine.
•Operators shouldbeabletorecognise
unusualoperation ofthe machine and report
anyproblems.
•Wearsuitable footwearto avoid slipping.
•Wearsuitable clothing to keep dryand warm.
•Wherepossibleimplement job rotationand
adequaterestperiodsto avoid continuoususe
ofthe samemuscles.
•Donot leavethe machinerunning unattended
•Donot smoke when using the machine.
•CAUTION -Thismachine isforindooruse
onlyand shouldnot beused orstored
outdoors orinwetconditions.
1.3 Transporting the machine
When transportingamachine ensurethat all
components,accessoriesand removableparts
aresecurelyfastenedandthatthesupplycord
and plug arenottrailing.
Take extreme care whenmoving a machine up or
down steps.
1.4 Electrical connection
Before connecting the machine to the power
supplycheckthat yoursupplyvoltage
correspondswith that marked on the rating label
on the rearofthe machine.
The powersupplycordplusanyextensionleads
should not exceed40min total. The cross-
section ofanyextension cablewiring must be at
least2,5mm².

The supplycord for230Vmodelsisfitted with a
plug containing a 13 amp fuse. Should the fuse
requirereplacement it must be replaced bya13
ampfuse conforming to BSI1362, and the fuse
covermust be refitted.Ifthe fuse coverislost the
plug must not be used until the correct
replacement coverisfitted.
IMPORTANT– ifthe supplycordisdamaged, it
must onlybereplaced bya suitable cord
available fromthe manufactureroranauthorised
service agent.

2.1 BagInstallation instructions
•Open Valet Wide Area Vacuumlid.
•Unzip cloth bagand installpaperbaginside.
•Attachboth bag openingstogetheronto
vacuumintake housing.
•Make sure bag isproperlydeployed inside
machine housing.
•Completelyclosezipon cloth bag and close
lidofmachine.
2.2BrushHeight adjustment
•Thismachine has5 brushpile adjustment
settings.
•Toraise brushheight: Lift up height
adjustment baruntil desired brush height is
attained.
•Tolowerbrushheight: push downon
height adjustment baruntildesired brush
height isattained.

3 Operation of the machine
3.1 Starting the machine
•Operate vacuummotorswitch on handle.
•To operate brush squeeze triggerbar.
•Adjustheight forproperpick-up (referto
height adjustment instructionsand diagram
below.
4 Maintenance
WARNING-Beforeundertaking maintenance
operationsoradjustmentsswitchoff machine
and unplug from the electricitysupply.
The machine requiresminimummaintenance
apart fromthe following checks bythe operator.
•Supplycord -Regularlyinspectsheath, plug
and cordanchorage fordamage orloose
connection.
•Vacuum filters –Checkthe vacuumfilters
are cleaned and replaced asappropriate.
•Vacuum head –Check and removeany
debrisorlint build-up fromthe head.
IMPORTANT –Allotherservicingand repairs
shouldonlybeperformed byaTruvoxengineer
orAuthorised Service Agent.
IMPORTANT –Shouldthe machinefailto
operatepleasereferto the faultdiagnosissection
inthebackofthe instruction manual.Ifthe
problem/remedyisnotlistedpleasecontact
TruvoxCustomerServiceDepartment forrapid
attention.
4.1 Filterreplacement
Remove filtercoverscrewsat backof
machine.
•Remove the twonutsholding filteronto
machine.
•Replace filterinproperpositionand tighten
nuts.
•Reinstallfiltercover.
Vacuumfilters.
•Lift filterhousing frommotorand replace
filter.
•Reinstallfilterhousing.
4.2 BeltAdjustment /replacement
•Remove belt coveron left side ofmachine
•Loosenthetwo motorbeltadjusting screws
on motorbracket.
•Remove belt
•Installnewbeltandreposition motorto
eliminate excess slack.
•Once tension isset, tightenmotoradjusting
screws.

•Replace belt coveron side ofmachine.
5 Storage
•Alwaysunplugthemachineafteruse.
•Wrap supplycordaround the handleofthe
machine ensuring thattheplugisnot trailing
on the floor.Storethemachine inadry
indoorarea only.
6 AfterSales Service
Shouldyourequireaftersalesserviceplease
contactthesupplierfromwhomyou purchased
the machine, who willarrange service.Repairs
and servicing ofTruvoxproductsshouldonlybe
performed bytrained staff.Improperrepairs can
cause considerabledangersto the user.
Enquireabout the Truvoxlowcost and efficient
MaintenanceContract.
7 Guarantee
Yourproductisguaranteed for one yearfromthe
date oforiginalpurchase, orhirepurchase,
againstdefectsinmaterialsorworkmanship
duringmanufacture. Withinthe guarantee period
we undertakeat ourdiscretion, torepairor
replacefree ofcharge to the purchaser,anypart
found to be defective,subjectto thefollowing
conditions.
CONDITIONS
1. Claimsmade underthetermsof the
guarantee mustbe supported bythe original
invoice/bill ofsaleissued at the timeof sale,
orthe machine SerialNumber.
2. Forclaimsunderthisguaranteecontactthe
supplierfromwhomyoupurchased the
productwho willarrangetheappropriate
action.Do not initiallyreturnthe productas
thiscould resultin transitdamage.
3. NeitherTruvoxnoritsdistributors shallbe
liable foranyincidentalorconsequentialloss.
4. Thisguaranteeisgoverned bythelawsof
England.
5. Thisguarantee doesnotcoveranyofthe
following:
•Periodicmaintenance, and repairor
replacement ofpartsdue to normalwear
and tear.
•Damage caused byaccident, misuseor
neglect, orthefittingofotherthan genuine
Truvoxparts.
•Defectsinotherthangenuine Truvox
parts,orrepairs,modificationsor
adjustmentsperformed byotherthan a
Truvoxserviceengineerorauthorised
service agent.
•Costsand risksof transportrelating directlyor
indirectlyto the guarantee ofthisproduct.
•Consumableitemsand wearpartssuchas
drive belts.
Thisguarantee doesnotaffectyourstatutory
rights,noryourrightsagainstthe supplierarising
fromtheirsalesorpurchase contract.
