Never before had a watchmaker so perfectly fullled the desire for com-
fort of frequent travelers and explorers. Part of an iconic Ulysse Nardin
collection, the launch of the DualTime Manufacture was a signicant
milestone in the history of contemporary watchmaking.
For the rst time, it was possible to adjust the second time zone forward
as well as backward. This incredible timepiece returns equipped with
an automatic movement that has been developed, designed and ma-
nufactured entirely in-house: caliber UN-334. Endowed with a Big Date
double window display, also adjustable in both directions, it boasts a
silicon escapement, the height of watchmaking technology that very
few brands are able to master.
Independence through innovation: the Ulysse Nardin Manufacture
constantly pursues the steep but extraordinarily worthwhile path it
chose to take a few years ago. Oering hours, minutes, oversized small
seconds at 6 o’clock, a big date double window display and second
time zone functions, the DualTime Manufacture is without doubt one
of the easiest watches to read and adjust. While the“home time”indica-
tor advances steadily over 24 hours in an aperture at 9 o’clock, the small
hand can easily be aligned with local time, either forward or backward.
This is achieved simply by pressing the (+) or (-) pushers positioned at
10 o’clock and 8 o’clock, without having to remove the watch from the
wrist or interrupting its timekeeping.
The ultimate in mechanical renement, the calendar function automa-
tically synchronizes with adjustments made in either direction.

Behind this simplicity of use – a true lesson in functionality – the Manu-
facture caliber UN-334 deploys the results of many years of research.
Featuring a 48-hour power reserve, it is equipped with a silicon
anchor, escape wheel and roller. The 4 Hz oscillator also has a patented
1.1.1. silicon balance spring, guaranteeing impressive accuracy.
Having made its watchmaking entry in 2001 thanks to the pioneering
eorts of Ulysse Nardin, this highly contemporary material requires har-
dly any lubrication and resists wear more than any other. Complex to
work with, its manufacturing techniques remain the prerogative of just
a handful of watchmakers.

A To wind the movement: turn crown clockwise.
If the watch has stopped, approx. 30 turns of the crown will wind it.
B Quick date setting.
Important : do not use quick corrector between 9 : 00 pm and 3 : 00 am ;
doing so may result in damage to the calendar mechanism.
C Time setting and second time zone. When corrections and adjustments are
complete, push the crown to position A to guarantee full water-resistance.

When rst setting the watch, synchronize the local and “Home Time” displays. Pull
the crown and pull it out to position C, then set the minute hand to 10 or 15.
 • If the hour hand and “Home Time” display show the same hour, you
need to ensure the hour hand and “Home Time” display agree as to
12/24 or am/pm, turn the crown forward, advancing the time until the
date changes. Make sure the “Home Time” display shows 24. If it shows
12, advance the hour hand by pressing either pusher 1 (+) or
pusher 2 (–), 12 times.
 • If the time displayed by the hands diers from the “Home
Time”, depress the appropriate pusher, depending on whether local
time is ahead of home time, until both show the same time.

Pull crown out to Position C. The movement is then locked. To allow an accurate
setting, the second hand will stop (stop seconds Function). Make sure the hands
are properly showing either am or pm, otherwise the date will change at noon
instead of midnight. Turn the hands clockwise to the desired time. On the hour
signal, push the crown back to Position A. Only then the water-resistance can be
guaranteed.

When hour hand and home time are synchronized, it is possible to display a second
time zone. Adjust hour hand back to correct local time using pusher 1 or 2.
Example: if you reside in Central Europe and your local time is 4:00 pm, the second
time zone set for New York should show 10:00 am.

Ulysse Nardin watches oer a great comfort to the users: quick corrections of the
date can be eected forward and backward.
Important note: To avoid damaging the gearing mechanism of the movement,
please refrain from correcting in crown position B (quick corrector of date) between
9:00 pm and 3:00 am. We suggest adjusting the hour hand to 6 o’clock before acti-
vating the quick setting device.
Pull the crown into position B. Turn forward or backward until the required date
appears in the window.

Pusher 1 (+) Each time the pusher 1 (+) is depressed, the hour hand jumps
exactly one hour forward.
Pusher 2 (–) Each time pusher 2 (–) is depressed, the hour hand jumps exactly
one hour backward. The date indication is synchronized with the
pusher and changes automatically if a time zone adjustment is
made over midnight.
Remarks: Only press pushers to adjust local time when crown is in position A.
Never activate both pushers together.
P.
Precision and average daily rate depend on the activity of the person wearing the
instrument. Violent shocks or knocks – quite common in tennis or golf – should be
avoided to prevent shaking that may loosen certain parts.
Because a mechanical watch is a ne piece of miniature engineering consisting
of well over 100 individual parts, its precision will never match that of a quartz
timepiece.
