Never before had a watchmaker so perfectly fullled the desire for com-
fort of frequent travelers and explorers. Part of an iconic Ulysse Nardin
collection, the launch of the DualTime Manufacture was a signicant
milestone in the history of contemporary watchmaking.
For the rst time, it was possible to adjust the second time zone forward
as well as backward. This incredible timepiece returns equipped with
an automatic movement that has been developed, designed and ma-
nufactured entirely in-house: caliber UN-334. Endowed with a Big Date
double window display, also adjustable in both directions, it boasts a
silicon escapement, the height of watchmaking technology that very
few brands are able to master.
Independence through innovation: the Ulysse Nardin Manufacture
constantly pursues the steep but extraordinarily worthwhile path it
chose to take a few years ago. Oering hours, minutes, oversized small
seconds at 6 o’clock, a big date double window display and second
time zone functions, the DualTime Manufacture is without doubt one
of the easiest watches to read and adjust. While the“home time”indica-
tor advances steadily over 24 hours in an aperture at 9 o’clock, the small
hand can easily be aligned with local time, either forward or backward.
This is achieved simply by pressing the (+) or (-) pushers positioned at
10 o’clock and 8 o’clock, without having to remove the watch from the
wrist or interrupting its timekeeping.
The ultimate in mechanical renement, the calendar function automa-
tically synchronizes with adjustments made in either direction.

Behind this simplicity of use – a true lesson in functionality – the Manu-
facture caliber UN-334 deploys the results of many years of research.
Featuring a 48-hour power reserve, it is equipped with a silicon
anchor, escape wheel and roller. The 4 Hz oscillator also has a patented
1.1.1. silicon balance spring, guaranteeing impressive accuracy.
Having made its watchmaking entry in 2001 thanks to the pioneering
eorts of Ulysse Nardin, this highly contemporary material requires har-
dly any lubrication and resists wear more than any other. Complex to
work with, its manufacturing techniques remain the prerogative of just
a handful of watchmakers.

A To wind the movement: turn crown clockwise.
If the watch has stopped, approx. 30 turns of the crown will wind it.
B Quick date setting.
Important : do not use quick corrector between 9 : 00 pm and 3 : 00 am ;
doing so may result in damage to the calendar mechanism.
C Time setting and second time zone. When corrections and adjustments are
complete, push the crown to position A to guarantee full water-resistance.

When rst setting the watch, synchronize the local and “Home Time” displays. Pull
the crown and pull it out to position C, then set the minute hand to 10 or 15.
 • If the hour hand and “Home Time” display show the same hour, you
need to ensure the hour hand and “Home Time” display agree as to
12/24 or am/pm, turn the crown forward, advancing the time until the
date changes. Make sure the “Home Time” display shows 24. If it shows
12, advance the hour hand by pressing either pusher 1 (+) or
pusher 2 (–), 12 times.
 • If the time displayed by the hands diers from the “Home
Time”, depress the appropriate pusher, depending on whether local
time is ahead of home time, until both show the same time.

Pull crown out to Position C. The movement is then locked. To allow an accurate
setting, the second hand will stop (stop seconds Function). Make sure the hands
are properly showing either am or pm, otherwise the date will change at noon
instead of midnight. Turn the hands clockwise to the desired time. On the hour
signal, push the crown back to Position A. Only then the water-resistance can be
guaranteed.

When hour hand and home time are synchronized, it is possible to display a second
time zone. Adjust hour hand back to correct local time using pusher 1 or 2.
Example: if you reside in Central Europe and your local time is 4:00 pm, the second
time zone set for New York should show 10:00 am.

Ulysse Nardin watches oer a great comfort to the users: quick corrections of the
date can be eected forward and backward.
Important note: To avoid damaging the gearing mechanism of the movement,
please refrain from correcting in crown position B (quick corrector of date) between
9:00 pm and 3:00 am. We suggest adjusting the hour hand to 6 o’clock before acti-
vating the quick setting device.
Pull the crown into position B. Turn forward or backward until the required date
appears in the window.

Pusher 1 (+) Each time the pusher 1 (+) is depressed, the hour hand jumps
exactly one hour forward.
Pusher 2 (–) Each time pusher 2 (–) is depressed, the hour hand jumps exactly
one hour backward. The date indication is synchronized with the
pusher and changes automatically if a time zone adjustment is
made over midnight.
Remarks: Only press pushers to adjust local time when crown is in position A.
Never activate both pushers together.

Precision and average daily rate depend on the activity of the person wearing the
instrument. Violent shocks or knocks – quite common in tennis or golf – should be
avoided to prevent shaking that may loosen certain parts.
Because a mechanical watch is a ne piece of miniature engineering consisting
of well over 100 individual parts, its precision will never match that of a quartz
timepiece.

clear water.

Tirer la couronne en position C. Le mouvement est alors bloqué. Pour permettre une
mise à l’heure précise, l’aiguille des secondes s’immoblise (fonction stop-seconde).
Tourner la couronne jusqu’à ce que les aiguilles indiquent l’heure requise. Au top
horaire, repousser la couronne en position A.
L’étanchéité de votre montre est alors garantie.

Lorsque l’heure de référence et les aiguilles sont synchronisées et achent la
même heure, il est possible d’introduire un deuxième fuseau horaire permanent.
Pour ce faire, utiliser les poussoirs 1 (+) et 2 (–).
Exemple: si vous habitez l’Europe continentale et qu’il est 16 heures, le guichet
situé à 9h indiquera 10 heures à New York si le deuxième fuseau horaire est réglé
pour la côte Est des USA (ET), soit une diérence de 6 heures.

Les montres Ulysse Nardin orent un confort d’utilisation tout particulier: la correc-
tion de la date peut s’eectuer indiéremment en avant ou en arrière.
Attention: pas de correction rapide entre 21h et 3h. Il est conseillé de positionner
les aiguilles sur 6h (ou 18h) avant d’activer la correction rapide en position B. Ame-
ner la couronne en position C. Tourner les aiguilles jusqu’à ce qu’elles indiquent 6h
(ou 18h). Repousser légèrement la couronne en position B et la tourner en avant
ou en arrière selon la date achée avant correction.

Poussoir 1 (+) Chaque pression sur le poussoir 1 (+) fait avancer d’une
heure l’aiguille des heures. La position de l’aiguille des
minutes n’est pas modiée.
Poussoir 2 (–) Chaque pression sur le poussoir 2 (–) fait reculer d’une heure l’ai-
guille des heures.
La synchronisation de la date veut que des pressions répétées sur
un poussoir, qui feraient passer les heures avant ou apres de minuit
impliqueraient également un changement de la date.

A noter que la bonne marche et la précision d’une montre dépendent de la per-
sonne qui la porte et de son activité. Les activités, telles que tennis, golf ou toute
autre qui provoquerait des chocs violents sont à proscrire.
Jamais une montre mécanique n’aura la précision d’une montre à quartz.

Après toute immersion en eau de mer, il est conseillé de rincer votre montre à

Beim ersten Einstellen des Zeitmessers, die Referenzzeit (Home Time im Fenster bei
9 Uhr) mit dem Stunden- und Minutenzeiger synchronisieren. Die Krone soweit
rausziehen bis sie auf Position C steht und danach den Minutenzeiger auf 10 oder
15 stellen.
 • Entspricht die Position der Stundenzeiger der angezeigten Stunde
im Fenster bei 9 Uhr, die Krone drehen bis zum Datumswechsel.
Beachten Sie, dass die Referenzzeit 24 anzeigt und nicht 12. Bei der
Anzeige der Zahl 12 genügen 12 Drückvorgänge mit einem der beiden
Drücker, um die Falschanzeige zu beheben.
 • Stimmt die angezeigte Stunde des Stundenzeigers nicht mit der
Anzeige im Fenster bei 9 Uhr überein, genügen ein oder mehrere
Drückvorgänge mit Drücker 1 (+) oder 2 (–) – je nachdem ob der
Stundenzeiger im Vergleich zur Referenzzeit (Home Time) vor – oder
nachgeht – die beiden Anzeigen zu synchronisieren.

Krone in Position C ziehen. Das Werk ist dann gesperrt. Um eine genaue Einstellung
zu ermöglichen, wird der Sekundenzeiger gestoppt (Sekundenstoppfunktion).
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Zeiger auf die Zeitänderung vor Mitternacht (z.B.
20.00 Uhr) und nicht vor Mittag stehen.
Bringen Sie die Stunden – und Minutenzeiger im Uhrzeigersinn auf die gewün-
schte Zeit. Die Zeit kann sekundengenau eingestellt werden aufgrund der Sekun-
denstoppfunktion. Nachdem die korrekte Zeit eingestellt ist, die Krone auf Position
A zurückdrücken. Nur in dieser Position ist die Wasserdichtigkeit gewährleistet.

Wenn die 24-Stundenanzeige (Referenzzeit/Home Time) mit dem Stundenzeiger
synchronisiert ist, kann eine zweite permanente Zeitzone eingegeben werden.
Lokalzeitkorrekturen über die Drücker 1 (+) und Drücker 2(-) vornehmen.
Beispiel: Benden Sie sich in Zentraleuropa und der Stundenzeiger zeigt 16 Uhr
an, weist das Fenster bei 9 Uhr 10 Uhr für New York an, sofern die zweite Zeitzone
für die Ostküste der Vereinigten Staaten (ET) eingestellt wurde, d.h. ein Zeitunters-
chied von – 6 Stunden.

Die Uhren von Ulysse Nardin weisen eine besondere Gebraucherfreundlichkeit auf:
die Datumskorrektur kann vorwärts oder rückwärts erfolgen.
Vorsicht: Um den Aufzugmechanismus des Zeitmessers nicht zu beschädigen,
folgendes Vorgehen berücksichtigen:
Keine Datumskorrekturen (Position B) in der Schnellkorrektur zwischen 21 Uhr und
3 Uhr vornehmen. Wir empfehlen den Stunden- und Minutenzeiger auf 6 (oder
18 Uhr) zu stellen, bevor die Schnellkorrektur des Datums aktiviert wird. In dieser
Zeigerposition werden die Kalenderzahnräder nicht betätigt. Krone in Position B
vorwärts oder rückwärts drehen bis das gewünschte Datum erscheint.
Dual Time Funktion.
Drücker 1 (+) Bei Betätigung springt der Stundenzeiger stundenweise vorwärts.
Drücker 2 (–) Bei Betätigung springt der Stundenzeiger stundenweise
rückwärts. Die Datumsanzeige ist mit dem Drücker
synchronisiert und das Datum schaltet zurück, wenn der
Stundenzeiger mittels Drücker 2 (–) über Mitternacht
betätigt wird.
Hinweis: Die Drücker nur betätigen um die lokale Zeit einzustellen, wenn die Krone
sich in Position A bendet. Niemals beide Drücker gleichzeitig betätigen.

Die Präzisionskomponenten des Uhrwerks unterliegen physikalischen Einüssen
von Temperaturschwankungen, der Ausdehnung der Metalle, dem Gesetz der
Schwerkraft, der Alterung der verwendeten Öle.
Die Ganggenauigkeit eines mechanischen Werkes wird beeinusst durch die Art
und Weise wie die Uhr getragen wird. Kräftige Schläge und Stöße, wie sie beim
Tennis- und Golfspiel üblich sind, sollten vermieden werden, um ein Lockern von
Werkteilen zu verhindern.
Mechanische Uhren sind Meisterstücke der Mikromechanik mit mehr als 100
Einzelteilen und können daher niemals die Präzision für Quarzuhren erreichen.

Posiciones de la corona.
A. Posición normal.
Carga del movimiento: Girar la corona en el sentido horario de las agujas
del reloj. Cuando el reloj esta parado, girar la corona aprox.30 vueltas para
cargar el mecanismo.
B. Corrección rápida del día
Importante: Se aconseja no realizar ninguna corrección rápida entre las 9
de la noche y las 3 de la madrugada porque puede dañar el mecanismo.
C. Puesta en hora y ajuste del segundo huso horario. Es importante volver a
colocar la corona en su posición inicial (Posición A) cuando se terminan
de ajustar las funciones para garantizar una perfecta impermeabilidad del
reloj.
