Installing Your Handset
Charge the Baery
1. Unpackthehandset,
batterypack,andbattery
cover.Ifthebatterycover
isalreadyonthehandset,
pressinonthenotchand
slidethecoverdownand
off.
2. Lineupthebatterypack
connectorwiththejackinsidethehandset.(Thebattery
connectorwillonlyfitoneway.)
3. Pushthebatterypackconnectorinuntilitclicksintoplace.
Tuggentlyonthewirestomakesurethebatterypackis
securelyconnected.
4. Placethecoveroverthebatterycompartmentandslideit
upintoplace.
5. ConnecttheACadaptertothecharger's
AC IN 8V
jackand
setthecordintothenotch.(Thisadaptermightalreadybe
connected.)
6. Plugtheotherendoftheadapterintoastandard120VAC
poweroutlet.
7. Placethehandsetinthechargerwiththedisplayfacing
forward.Thedisplayonthehandsetshouldlightup;ifit
doesn't,reseatthehandsetortrypluggingtheACadapter
intoadifferentoutlet.
#Charge the handset completely (about 15 hours) before using it.

Registering to a Base
#The accessory handset won't work until you register it to a base!

bases.
Does the handset t in the base cradle?
Yes Place the handset in the base. The display should say
Handset
Registering
.
No 1. On the base, press and hold FIND when the phone is in standby
(about 5 seconds).
2. On the handset, press and hold POUND (#) until the handset
display says
Handset Registering
(about 2 seconds).
#After about 30 seconds, the handset display should say
Registration Complete
.

Important Informaon
yBecause the handset adapts to the base, the exact features and operation
of the handset will vary slightly depending on which base you register
the handset to. Refer to the user guide for the base you're registering the
handset to for feature descriptions.
yAll features and operation for the handset are described in the user's guide
for one of the bases listed under the Compatible Bases section.
yUser guides for all Uniden phones are available on our website for free
downloading.

yUse only the supplied AC adapter. Be sure to use the proper adapter for the
base and any chargers.
yDo not place the power cord where it creates a trip hazard or where it could
become chafed and create a fire or electrical hazard.
yDo not place the unit in direct sunlight or subject it to high temperatures.
yFully charged, the battery should provide about 10 hours of talk time and
about 7 days of standby time. For best results, return the handset to the
cradle after each call to keep it fully charged.
yWhen the battery gets too low, the handset shows a low battery alert. If
you hear a strange beep during a call, check the display: if you see the low
battery alert, finish your conversation as quickly as possible and return the
handset to the cradle. If the handset is in standby, none of the keys will
operate.
yWith normal use, the battery should last about one year. Replace the battery
when the talk time becomes short even when the battery is charged. To buy
a replacement battery, call the Parts Department listed on the front cover.

Rechargeable Nickel-Metal-Hydride Battery Warning
CAUTION! Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an
incorrect type! Dispose of used batteries according to
the instructions. Do not open or mutilate the battery.
Disconnect the battery before shipping this product.
yThis equipment contains a rechargeable Nickel-Metal-Hydride baery.
yNickel is a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer.
yDo not short-circuit the baery.
yThe rechargeable baeries contained in this equipment may explode if
disposed of in a re.
yDo not charge the baery used in this equipment in any charger other
than the one designed to charge this baery as specied in the owner's
manual. Using another charger may damage the baery or cause it to
explode.
#Rechargeable batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly.
Uniden works to reduce lead content in PVC coated cords in our
products and accessories.
Warning! The cords on this product and/or accessories contain
lead, a chemical known to the state of California to cause birth
defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.

Terminal equipment
NOTICE: This equipment meets the applicable Industry Canada Terminal
Equipment Technical Specicaons. This is conrmed by the registraon
number. The abbreviaon IC before the registraon number signies that
registraon was performed based on a Declaraon of Conformity indicang
that Industry Canada technical specicaons were met. It does not imply
that Industry Canada approved the equipment.
NOTICE: The Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) for this terminal equipment
is marked on the equipment itself. The REN assigned to each terminal
equipment provides an indicaon of the maximum number of terminals
allowed to be connected to a telephone interface. The terminaon on an

One-year Limited Warranty

ELEMENTS OF WARRANTY: Uniden warrants, for one year, to the original
retail owner, this Uniden Product to be free from defects in materials and
crasmanship with only the limitaons or exclusions set out below.
WARRANTY DURATION: This warranty to the original user shall terminate
and be of no further eect 12 months aer the date of original retail sale.
The warranty is invalid if the Product is (A) damaged or not maintained
as reasonable or necessary, (B) modied, altered, or used as part of any
conversion kits, subassemblies, or any conguraons not sold by
Uniden, (C) improperly installed, (D) serviced or repaired by someone
other than an authorized Uniden service center for a defect or
malfuncon covered by this warranty, (E) used in any conjuncon
with equipment or parts or as part of any system not manufactured
by Uniden, or (F) installed or programmed by anyone other than as
detailed by the owner's manual for this product.
STATEMENT OF REMEDY: In the event that the product does not conform
to this warranty at any me while this warranty is in eect, warrantor will
either, at its opon, repair or replace the defecve unit and return it to you
without charge for parts, service, or any other cost (except shipping and
handling) incurred by warrantor or its representaves in connecon with
the performance of this warranty. Warrantor, at its opon, may replace
the unit with a new or refurbished unit. THE LIMITED WARRANTY SET
FORTH ABOVE IS THE SOLE AND ENTIRE WARRANTY PERTAINING TO THE
PRODUCT AND IS IN LIEU OF AND EXCLUDES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OF
ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR ARISING
BY OPERATION OF LAW, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER OR PROVIDE FOR THE

REIMBURSEMENT OR PAYMENT OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES. Some states do not allow this exclusion or limitaon of incidental
or consequenal damages so the above limitaon or exclusion may not apply
to you.
LEGAL REMEDIES: This warranty gives you specic legal rights, and you may
also have other rights which vary from state to state. This warranty is void
outside the United States of America and Canada.
PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING PERFORMANCE OF WARRANTY: If, aer
following the instrucons in the owner's manual you are certain that the
Product is defecve, pack the Product carefully (preferably in its original
packaging). Disconnect the baery from the Product and separately secure
the baery in its own separate packaging within the shipping carton. The
Product should include all parts and accessories originally packaged with the
Product. Include evidence of original purchase and a note describing the
defect that has caused you to return it. The Product should be shipped freight
