1.1. BASIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To minimise the risk of injury, the following basic safety precauons should be observed
with each use of the Product:
Do not remove the scker on the front of the unit unl the UV222 is commissioned by a
qualied installer.
Do not put any object in close front of the surface of the UV222.
Do not put plasc or glass in front of the UV222. It does not transmit UV.
Make sure the UV222 has an unobstructed path towards the area to be disinfected.
Do not use ammable substances near the lamp module.
Do not use ammable or combusble gases or liquids, such as oxygen, hydrogen, or chemi-
cals, near a lamp module. Failure to obey may result in re or explosion.
If Front glass is broken, disconnect UV222 immediately and and contact an authorised
installer.
Do not turn on any UV222 with a broken front glass.
Do not disassemble or modify the lamp module.
Disassembly or modicaon may result in re, electric shock, or injury.
Turn o the electrical power during lamp module maintenance.
Do not remove any safety labelling or parts.
Do not touch the lamp module during operaon.
Otherwise, it may result in re, electric shock, or injury.
Ground the device or metal parts of the housing that are close to the lamp module.
Otherwise, it may result in re, electric shock, or injury.
For those with photosensivity, take measures similar to those for daily sunlight ultravi-
olet rays.
Due to the absorpon characteriscs of ultraviolet rays in the skin, it is considered that
the eect of 222nm light sensivity on people exposed to ultraviolet rays will be less than
when exposed to sunlight. For those with photosensivity, take measures similar to those
for daily sunlight ultraviolet rays, such as long sleeves and hats.
Do not use the unit for purposes other than disinfecon.
The unit is designed for disinfecon. Using it for any other purpose may result in unexpect-
ed accidents.

4. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS AND TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS
The Product is designed to emit Far UV-C radiaon with a wavelength of 222 nm, in order
to eliminate viruses, bacteria, fungi, and other pathogens, from air and surfaces.
The Far UV-C lamps are designed for 5,000 hours of ecient operaon. Far UV-C lamps
used longer than this, may no longer emit the required level of ultraviolet radiaon to en-
sure the desired germicidal ecacy on harmful microorganisms.

6. INSTALLATION OF THE PRODUCT
Perform the following steps for the installaon of the Product.
Outside every room where Far UV-C light is used, there must be informaon signs in clear
line of sight.
Installaon must be done according to the local regulaons by a qualied installer.
6.1. Choose the appropriate locaon
Choosing the appropriate locaon is important for the proper funconing and safe use of
the Product.
A dialux simulaon can help you to choose the right posion for disinfecon.
Install the Product in a protected area where the temperature does not fall below 0° C and
the humidity level is low. The Product funcons ideally in a temperature range from 0°C to
+50° C.
Select a Product mounng locaon that is close to surface/area that you want to disinfect.
6.2. Unboxing and inspecon
Read and save all noces, warnings and safety instrucons received with the Product.
Open the box and carefully take the unit out of the box. Take the unit out of the plasc
bag. Do not remove the protecon label on the front of the UV222. The protecon label is
intended to avoid unexpected UV radiaon. Make a visual inspecon of the unit.
Do not power on the unit unl installed by a qualied installer!
CAUTION: Do not touch the glass of the lamp without gloves.
Doing so may result in damage to the lamp. Oil from ngerprints will
permanently etch the glass of the lamp and weaken the structure.

9
6.3. UV222 xture installaon
The unit must be aached to a surface by means of at least 4 mounng pins, preferably
near electrical wires with grounding.
The mounng pins and surface must be strong enough to hold 4 mes the weight of the
unit.

6.5. Understanding the unit’s operaon
The maximum permissible UV-C exposure shall not exceed the ACGIH TLV and NIOSH REL
of 22,0 mJ/cm² for an 8 h day, 40 h work week exposure to UV radiaon at 222 nm.
(UV Medico A/S expects posive changes into the ACGIH that will result in a higher expo-
sure than allowed at this moment. If this changes, UV Medico A/S will update the soware
of the unit to align with the new threshold of exposure).
To achieve the correct radiaon within these limits, following informaon will be pro-
grammed into the UV222 before the start-up of this installaon.
6.6. Seng up the UV222
The installer will need a Microso Windows computer with the UVMEDICO applicaon
installed. Contact your distributor to get access to the latest soware and rmware for the
UV222.
To launch the app, go to the installed folder and open the le:
UV Medico Conguraon App.exe
The app includes two dierent set up modes: simple and advanced.
For the simple mode, follow the instrucons that will appear on the screen.
For the advanced mode, see below:
There is a USB-C connecon
D
on the
side of the unit to connect to a computer
with a USB cable.
Connect your computer to the UV222
unit and it will show up automacally on
the applicaon.
When the app is launched, following
steps needs to be taken:

Once this informaon is saved and programmed into the unit, it is ready to test/start up.
The unit will calculate the radiaon automacally to stay within the limits of the ACGIH like
the example below:
If during the duty cycle a person comes closer to the unit than the programmed distance
from the eye, UV222 will automacally stop, and it will resume the acvity 10 sec. aer this
security distance is cleared.
If movement in the room is detected during the pre or post disinfecon cycle, the unit will
stop working, and will resume its acvity aer no more movement is detected.

If the informaon programmed into the UV222 when installed is dierent than the use/
occupancy of the room, UV Medico A/S cannot be held liable for any injuries or misuse of
these units.
If the room changes of use, occupancy or any change that has an inuence on the risks of
exposure, the installer needs to be contacted so the Product is reprogrammed.
11) Tesng the Product.
