A. INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION
It is very import nt th t the le d- cid b ttery be rech rged with the OEM AC Ad ptor AD-1250
ch rger s soon s pr ctic l fter the b ttery is fully disch rged. Any le d- cid b ttery th t is in
disch rged st te c n be d m ged by sitting too long unch rged. Even if one d y goes by
before plugging in the ch rger, some d m ge could be done. If b ttery is in disch rged st te
for one or two weeks without being ch rged, it could be ruined or h ve gre tly reduced c p city.

When this h ppens, the b ttery pl tes go through phenomenon c lled "sulf tion" nd th t
prevents the pl tes from ccepting full ch rge.
B. BATTERY FEATURES
The se led le d- cid PowerSonic PSH-1280 F2 or the Univers l UB1280 b ttery is trouble free
nd is m de with spill-proof nd le k-proof construction. The b ttery is m inten nce free nd
c n be used in ny position. It h s one-w y g s v lve to prevent ny excess g s build up in
c se of incorrect ch rging. Note th t it is very unlikely th t this b ttery c n ever be incorrectly
ch rged when used with the ccomp nying OEM AC Ad ptor AD-1250 ch rger ( s long s the
ch rger is not left connected indefinitely). The b ttery should give you long trouble free life if
used nd ch rged correctly. Do not connect the b ttery ch rger with the SuperBright II Jentec
Technology AC Ad ptor (power supply), the connectors c n m te but d m ge could be done if
connected together.
C. INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
The wires should be connected to the b ttery inside the c se, if not, zip open the c se nd
connect the white wire (with the red connector) to the red termin l (+) of the b ttery nd the
bl ck wire (with the bl ck connector) to the bl ck termin l (-) of the b ttery. IT IS VERY
IMPORTANT THAT YOU OBSERVE THIS POLARITY otherwise the SuperBright II
might be d m ged. Once connected, you should not h ve to disconnect the b ttery. The he vy
duty coiled cord is perm nently tt ched to the b ttery b g. And in f ct the coiled-cord is so
strong th t you c n use the cord to c rry the b ttery nd b g, however th t is not recommended.
The coiled-cord comes out button hole opening t the end of the b ttery b g.
D. BEFORE FIRST USE
The B2 b ttery p ck comes with ch rged b ttery. However, is it recommended th t the b ttery
be ch rged for t le st 24 hours before being used the first time.
E. TO USE THE BATTERY WITH THE SuperBright II
The coiled-cord th t connects to the SuperBright II is perm nently tt ched to the c rrying c se
so you c nnot lose it. The c rrying c se c n be hung on your belt by unhooking the Velcro belt
loops nd putting them over your belt, th t w y you do not h ve to t ke off your belt. Also the
shoulder str p c n be disconnected when you re c rrying the b ttery nd c se on your belt. You
c n even connect the ends of the shoulder str p together to use s belt for the c rrying c se.
M ny prefer to use both the shoulder str p nd belt together to help distribute the weight. An
Army surplus mmunition belt m kes gre t belt since it is he vy duty nd wide to distribute the
weight. When not using the B2 some people use the belt loops to keep the coiled-cord from
flopping.
F. CHARGER AND CHARGING TIME
The connector on the ch rger should be m ted with the connector on the end of the coiled-cord.
DO NOT connect the ch rger to the SuperBright II Jentec AC Ad ptor JTA0410D-A power
supply (or other AC power supply). Those connectors will m te, but if you do connect them
d m ge could h ppen to the ch rger or the power supply (or both). Remember the ch rger must
only be connected to the batte y pack through the end of the coiled-cord. The 115VAC OEM
AC Ad ptor AD-1250 ch rger (or other ch rger) is designed to ch rge fully disch rged
PSH-1280 F2 or UB1290 b ttery in bout 32 to 36 hours. Shorter ch rging times (typic lly 24
hours) c n be used if the b ttery is not fully disch rged. However, the ch rger should not be left
connected indefinitely ( s in trickle ch rger). To determine the ex ct condition of the b ttery
when the ch rger is connected, the volt ge t the b ttery termin ls could be me sured. However,
this is not required. If the volt ge t the termin ls is t le st 13.8VDC to 14.4VDC (when the
ch rger is on) the b ttery is fully ch rged. Volt ges bove 14.4VDC do not dd ny signific nt
ch rge to the b ttery.

For 220VAC power 220V to 115VAC step-down tr nsformer is required. A sm ll 220V to
115V step-down tr nsformer with two round Europe n pins is v il ble from UV SYSTEMS t
n ddition l ch rge. It is p rt number SB005b.
G. RULE OF THUMB USE AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The rule of thumb is if you use the b ttery until the SuperBright II is notice bly dim or the l mp
will not rest rt, then the b ttery is fully disch rged. The ex ct number of hours of use on fully
ch rged b ttery is dependent on sever l f ctors, such s how long your SuperBright II is on
every time your turn it “on”, how m ny times you turn it “on”, how long between uses (the
b ttery will recover some when not being used), nd the tot l current dr in on the b ttery. The
PSH-1280 F2 or UB1280 b ttery should conserv tively oper te SuperBright II for bout 7
hours on full ch rge.
If the b ttery if fully disch rged, you should plug in the ch rger s soon s you c n nd le ve the
ch rger plugged in for t le st 32 hours (36 hours recommended). Some m y w nt to purch se
n extr B2 b ttery p ck so th t they c n h ve one ch rging while one is being used. Also extr
b tteries re v il ble from UV SYSTEMS. If you only use the b ttery with the SuperBright II
for few hours of intermitted use, then your b ttery m y not need to be rech rged for sever l
d ys. If you do rech rge when it is not fully disch rged, it will not t ke s long to rech rge it.
However, it is import nt th t the b ttery be sto ed fully cha ged. When the b ttery is just
sitting unused, it is recommended th t it should be fully rech rged bout every nine (9) months.
The hotter the mbient stor ge temper ture of the b ttery, the more often it should be rech rged,
s y every five (5) months in very hot we ther or if stored next to he t source such s furn ce.
A le d- cid b ttery will hold its ch rge much better in cold we ther (the cold reduces the self-
disch rge of the b ttery). However, the b ttery should never be llowed to sit for longer th n
twelve (12) months without being ch rged, reg rdless of the b ttery mbient temper ture. These
recommend tions re designed to optimize the life of your b ttery. Shorter ch rging times (less
th n 32 hours for disch rged b ttery) or longer stor ge times (longer th n 1 ye r) between
ch rges could reduce the life of your b ttery, th t is, the number of ch rge/disch rge cycles.
H. COLD TEMPERATURE STORAGE AND CAPACITY
Although the b ttery will hold its ch rge in cold temper ture the cold temper ture, reduces the
c p city of the b ttery. Therefore in very cold temper tures 32˚F (0˚C) the c p city of the
b ttery will be only pproxim tely 70% of wh t it would be t 68˚F (20˚C).
CHARGE THE BATTERY AFTER EVERY COMPLETE DISCHARGE and cha ge the
batte y at least eve y nine (9) months even if you haven't used it.
I. BATTERY LIFE
The PowerSonic PSH-1280 F2 or Univers l UB1280 b ttery should l st from 200 to 500 ch rge/
disch rge cycles depending on ver ge depth of disch rge. End of life is defined s when the
b ttery c n only chieve 80% of it origin l c p city. Repl cement b tteries re v il ble from
UV SYSTEMS. A det iled Power Sonic technic l h ndbook bout se led le d- cid b tteries is
v il ble from the Power Sonic Corpor tion or UV SYSTEMS.
J. TRANSPORTING THE BATTERY ABOARD ANY COMMERCIAL AIRCHAFT

st rved electrolyte.
They m y be tr nsported bo rd ny commerci l ircr ft with no restrictions ccording to the
following regul tions.
