WORKPLACE AND PERSONAL SAFETY
• Mobile units with casters should only be used for intended
purpose; it is intended for secondary cleaning only, primary
cleaning to remove foreign materials (e.g.,dust, soil) and
organic materials (e.g., blood, secretions, excretions) must
be done first.
• This product is for indoor use only to decontaminate an area
using UVC light.
• Do not use device if it is damaged this may cause injuries
contact UVC Cleaning Systems for repair.
• Unprotected exposure to UVC light can cause injuries that
may include but are not limited to damage to eyes and skin.
Always ensure that the intended treatment space is NOT
occupied by any person or animals for any reason. Keep
bystanders, children, visitors and pets away from the device
and out of room while operating equipment.
• Do not use equipment while tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol, or medication.
• Operate in an enclosed, non-occupied area only. Windows
and doors must be closed during equipment operation.
• Post warning signs in a conspicuous place where everyone
can see them to prevent a person from entering the area
when operating the equipment “Do Not Enter – UVC
Treatment in Progress. Danger do not expose eyes or
skin to UVC radiation ”. Be sure to display “Do not enter
–Treatment in Progress” signs at all access points to the
room. This ensures that no people will enter the room while
the UVC treatment is in progress.
• Store UVC Cleaning System devices out of the reach of
children and other untrained personal when not in use.
• UVC Cleaning Systems equipment should never be
disassembled, opened or altered by the user. This could
create a safety issue and will void the warranty and violate
the lease agreement with UVC Cleaning Systems.
• Use light blocking material on visible gaps greater than 1/2
inch in the door seal or at the bottom of the door. No visible
light should escape the desired treatment area. Gaps in the
door seal could cause a risk of damage to eyes and skin.
• When transporting, push or pull UVC Cleaning System
devices using only the handles located on the outside of the
cage.
• Safezone 850Max should never be left unattended on an
incline.
• UVC Cleaning System devices are heavy and weigh
approximately 40 lbs. They will require adequate strength to
maintain control of the equipment during transportation.
• Never operate more than two Safezone 850Max UVC
Cleaning System devices on a single 15AMP circuit. The
Safezone 850Max UVC Cleaning System device requires a
dedicated 15 amp circuit to operate dual units. A single
Ssafezone 850Max UVC Cleaning System device requires a
7.5 amp circuit or greater to operate.
• It is not recommended to operate UVC Cleaning Systems
devices using an extension cord.
• If lamps are broken or damaged, follow clean up procedures
found in this document and call UVC Cleaning Systems
immediately.
• Do not remove safety labels, they are there for your
protection.
• Always inspect power cord before use, if power cord is
damaged, do not operate, call UVC Cleaning Systems
immediately.
• Do not touch lamps or metal cage after operation. Lamps will
be hot!

UVC Decontamination Device
UVC Cleaning System units are a whole room germicidal UV-
C treatment device. UVC Cleaning System devices are
designed to treat the air and surfaces in an enclosed space.
UVC Decontamination Device Base
UVC Cleaning Systems Safezone 850 Max devices are
designed to be extremely portable and versatile. Included with
the device is a 16 inch rolling caster base that has a total of 5
rolling casters that make it easy to transport from room to
room. One of the casters is locking for uneven surfaces.
User Manual:
The user manual is the source of information for the UVC
Cleaning System devices. It provides information on
equipment safety, operations, service and trouble shooting.
The user manual is printed in English and sent to the customer
electronically.
Quick Start Guide
The quick start guide is a go to reference for simple operation
used by the operator. The Quick Start Guide can be stored
with the unit. The Quick Start Guide is printed in English.
Welcome Packet
A collection of paperwork enhancing your interaction with the
Safezone 850 Max. This includes a welcome card, accessory
list, reception signage, and other helpful tools as you get
familiar with your unit.
Do Not Enter Signs
The safety warning door sign should be displayed on all entry
points to the area that is being treated. Its purpose is to inform
others that UVC Cleaning System devices are in progress and
no persons should enter the space. It reminds others that UVC
exposure is harmful and to take extra precautions when
working with UVC Cleaning System devices.
Remote Control
A simple, compact and easy to use remote is included with
the product. It is the only way to operate the UVC Cleaning
System devices with buttons for activation and deactivation It
provides simple operations for the user to manage all UVC
Cleaning System devices. Each remote is dedicated and only
operates one unit.
UVC Dose Indicator Cards
UVC Cleaning Systems provides 3 free UVC dosing cards that
can be used to verify a saturation level of UVC energy in the
room. Developed by a third party, UVC dosing cards are a
great tool to verify that appropriate accumulated energy is
reaching your target surfaces.

(UVC) disinfection products that are designed to be mobile. The
product is shipped fully assembled and provides an easy to
use and repeatable process ensuring that your environment is
completely treated with germicidal UVC light. The compact and

Assembly Instructions
Main Unit
Inspect the unit to ensure there are no broken lamps or
damaged parts. The handles should be secure and cord
assembly should have no cuts or damage, all wheels should
be in operating condition. UVC Cleaning Systems equipment
is a leased or sold so the unit received could be used/
refurbished and could have small cosmetic defects but
should have no broken or inoperable parts if it is leased.
Please contact UVC Cleaning Systems immediately if you
have received equipment that is defective. Each unit comes
completely assembled.
To prepare the device for activation, plug the removable power cord
into the unit receptacle and into the power source. Ensure that the
circuit breaker is switched to the on position. Press the desired time
you would like to run on the timing switch. When you press the desired
time, a light on the timer switch will turn on.
Exit the treatment area and ensure no other people or pets are present.
Activate the device from outside the treatment area using the included
dedicated remote. Always post warning signs at the entrance and exit
locations of the area you are treating.
Remote Control
The remote comes fully assembled and linked to the unit. The range on
the remote is about 50 ft through one wall. The life of the battery is 3-6
months or longer depending on use. Only the "A" button is used to
activate and deactivate the unit. The "B" button has no functionality on
this unit.
The battery is installed and linked to the unit when shipped. If a new
battery is needed, remove the battery door on back of remote.
Remove the battery housing, then the battery from its hosing. Insert
one (1) 9V alkaline battery into the remote. Make sure the polarity of
the batteries match the diagram on the inside of the remote. Reinstall
the battery into the hosing then replace the cover.
If a new remote needs to be linked to the unit, locate the remote reset
hole on the front top the unit within the warning label.
Plug the unit into a power source. Prepare the unit by plugging into a
timing source, ensuring the circuit breaker is on, and activate the
timing switch to an on setting. Use a small pin or other object to press
the reset button located inside of the housing. Hold the reset button
for 3 seconds. The reset button will flash on the inside of the unit fast.
Press the "A" button on the remote to link the unit. Once linked the
unit will activate and deactivate using the wireless remote.

Transportation
Warning: UVC Cleaning System devices are transportable
and weigh approximately 40 lbs. They will require adequate
strength to maintain control of the equipment during
transportation. It requires one per to lift these devices from the
base.
UVC Cleaning Systems Safezone 850 Max devices are
designed to move in any direction using 5 rolling casters. The
integrated stainless steel handles can be used to push,
pull or lift the unit as needed. The handles also provide limited
impact protection if necessary. The power cord should be
coiled around the cord wrap on the cage of the unit while
transporting.
The Safezone 850 Max is equipped with an aluminum rolling
base. The unit is designed to sit in the base and roll from
location to location.
The Safezone 850 Max can be transported in a vehicle
standing up in or out of its base. It is not recommended that
you lay the Safezone 850 Max flat because of potential
damage to components including lamps.
Accessory Cover
As an available option, the Safezone 850 Max slip cover is a
great accessory to help keep the bugs off of it during
transportation. Its made of a super durable fabric that is UV
protected and washable.

Room Staging And Unit Setup
Staging the Room
The room must be cleaned first (primary cleaning using
traditional and approved cleaning methods including but not
limited to using water, bleach, cleanser, and other disinfecting
products. Primary cleaning is used to remove foreign materials
(e.g.,dust, soil and organic materials (e.g., blood, secretions,
excretions before the UVC treatment is performed.
Remove all soft items from the treatment area including
bedding, pillows, and clothing. Open all cupboards, drawers,
curtains, and interior doors. Be sure to expose as many of the
intended cleaning surfaces to the UVC light as possible.
Remove all medications, plants, animals, and people from the
environment.
Place warning signs at all entry/exit points coming into the
room.
Product Setup
Roll UVC Cleaning System device into treatment area and
place in the center of the room. Spacing from walls should be
equal distance. Make sure that no objects are within 12 inches
(1 feet) of the lamps. Items placed next to the unit may
become hot and/or discolored. If using multiple units, they
should be evenly spaced throughout the rooms.
Plug the UVC Cleaning System device into dedicated 20 Amp
or 15 Amp circuit. Visually inspect the power cord and plug for
damage and abrasions or warn areas. If insulation on cord or
the plug is damaged, broken or not in factory condition, do not
use UVC Cleaning System devices and contact UVC Cleaning
Systems.
It is safe to run two Safezone 850 Max units off one one
dedicated 15 amp circuit.
Operating Procedures
Single Unit Operations
UVC Cleaning System devices are designed to allow the user
to control their operation with the press of an integrated timer
switch and a wireless remote control that controls the
activation and deactivation of the lamps.
Plug the UVC mobile device into a 15 amp circuit. Ensure that
the circuit breaker is switched to the on "I" position
Select the desired run time on the integrated timer switch.
When pressed, the timer switch will light up.
Exit the treatment area and place "warning signs" at the entry
and exit points. DO NOT expose yourself or others to UVC
light. It is harmful to your eyes and skin.
If the door seal at the bottom or edge of the door allows more
than 1/2” exposure to light, cover with a blocking material to
prevent light from escaping during treatment.
Use the wireless remote to activate and deactivate the unit
from outside the room.
When complete, the timer will expire and the lamps will turn off
or operator can deactivate the lamps at any time using the
wireless remote.
Monitor Treatment in Progress
Activate the unit using the "A" button from outside of the
treatment area. While activated a audio beeper will be
activated to let you know that UVC treatments are in progress.
The Unit will run for a minimum of 2 minutes and for a
maximum of 15 minutes. The remote is designed to be kept
within within range of the unit for real time updates.

Equipment Storage
The unit should be kept in a dry, clean indoor space. It should be stored in a room with a temperature range of 50-80 F
(10-27C). Do not lean or set foreign objects on the device.
Maintenance and Device Care
The UVC Cleaning System devices should be cleaned on a regular basis using non abrasive products such as alcohol, or
some types disinfectant soap. Do not soak down the unit and get cleaning agents on the electronics components, this will
damage the unit and cause a critical failure and possibly electrical shock. Only clean the outer surfaces where operators
are touching during daily use.
Service & Maintenance
All service and maintenance for the UVC Cleaning System devices should be performed by UVC Cleaning Systems Inc. or
an authorized UVC Cleaning Systems Distributor. Please call 810-358-7202 to speak with a representative or call your
local UVC Cleaning Systems distributor.
The customer should never disassemble, repair or replace any parts on the device. Service is only performed by a
qualified representative of UVC Cleaning Systems Inc. Failure to follow these instructions could result in a breach in the
warranty and lease agreement if product is leased. Failure to follow these instructions could also result bodily harm,
personal injury, fi e and even death. DO NOT DISASSEMBLY AND SERVICE the UVC Cleaning Systems equipment.
Service process:
Contact UVC Cleaning Systems Inc. at 989-912-0345 or your local distributor to report a service claim. Depending on the
reason for the service this will prompt UVC Cleaning Systems Inc. or its’ distributors to deliver a replacement unit or
schedule a service technician for an on-site repair. If a replacement unit is shipped, the customer will remove the new unit
from the shipping carton and repack the carton with the unit to be serviced. All shipping documents will be included in the
package for return.

Exposure to UVC light:
How often does UVC unit need to be serviced?

Never expose yourself or other people or animals to UVC
light , this can cause burning to your eyes and skin. If you
are exposed to UVC for a extended periods of time ; go see
a Ophthalmologists immediately for care.
The UVC unit has been built with smart technology inside.
Typically, UVC emitters will last for approximately 6000
treatments before requiring service but that number may
vary based on operating conditions. UVC Cleaning
Systems tracks the number of operational hours for each
device. UVC Cleaning Systems equipment should never be
disassembled, opened or altered by the user. This could
create a safety issue and will void the warranty and violate
the lease agreement with UVC Cleaning Systems.
Flip the unit upside down to read the number of operational
hours.
Treatments can operate as little as 2 minutes or as long
as 15 minutes, depending on the room size and the
objects in the room.
We recomend running the device for a total of 2 minutes
for surfaces within 3 ft of the device and for up to 8
minutes for surfaces that are 8 ft in distance from the
device.
UVC Cleaning Systems sells color changing cards that
change color when activated by UVC light.
Specific UVC Cleaning Systems remotes can be used
with Safezone 850 Max models. To replace the remote,
follow the instructions on the remote control
information page.
Do not use the Unit if one or more of the lamps
are broken. Contact UVC Cleaning Systems Inc. or your
local distributor for a replacement. UVC Cleaning Systems
has videos on Youtube to help guide you though the lamp
replacement process.

Troubleshooting Guide
UVC Unit has no power Check that the power cord is plugged into a live power
receptacle. Check that the circuit breaker is reset. DO
NOT OPERATE the Safezone 850 Max on a GFCI
circuit.
Operating Temperature This equipment is for indoor use only and has an operating
temperature of 40F to100F (5C to 38C). Any misuse of this
equipment could lead to risk of re, shock and bodily harm.
Remote- out of radio frequency range The Remote Control has a 15M (50ft) range. The Remote
Control will stay in the same “state” when out of range and
will automatically update the status when back in range.
Remote- power On and Off The remote is always on when the batteries are inserted
into the assembly.
Remote- low battery The Remote Control lwill stop flashing the LED when
pressed if the remote is out of battery power. Remove the
back panel from the remote control and replace the
batteries.
