MEANING OF SPECIAL LANGUAGE
FAILURE TO OPERATE THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY CAN RESULT IN PRODUCT DAMAGE,
PERSONAL PROPERTY AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.
• Portable units should only be used for intended purposes;
they are intended for secondary disinfection only, primary
cleaning to remove foreign materials (e.g., dust, soil),
and organic materials (e.g., blood, secretions, excretions)
must be completed first.
• This product is for indoor UVC Light decontamination use only.
• Do not use this device if it is damaged as this may cause
injuries; in case of damage, contact your local UVC Experts
Representative for repair.
• Unprotected exposure to UVC light can cause injuries that may
include but are not limited to damage to eyes and skin. Always
ensure the intended treatment space is NOT occupied by any
person or animals for any reason. Keep bystanders, children,
visitors and pets away from the device and out of the treatment
area while operating the equipment.
• Do not use equipment while tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol, or medication.
• Operate in an enclosed, non-occupied are only. Windows and
doors must be closed during equipment operation.
• Post warning signs in a conspicuous place where everyone can
see them preventing a person from entering the area when
operating the equipment. “Do Not Enter - UVC
Treatment in Progress. Danger do not expose
eyes or skin to UVC radiation”. Be sure to
display “DO NOT ENTER - TREATMENT
IN PROGRESS” signs at all access points to the room.
• Store devices out of reach of children and other untrained
personnel when not in use.
• UVC Experts equipment should never be disassembled,
opened, or altered by the user. Modifying the equipment will
create a safety issue and void the warranty and violate the
lease agreement with UVC Experts.
• Use light blocking material on visible gaps greater than 1/2”
in the door seal or at the bottom of the door. No visible light
should escape the desired treatment area. Gaps in the door
seal could cause a risk of damage to eyes and skin.
• When transporting, use the handles located on the top and
sides of the device.
• The SolarStorm should never be left unattended on an incline
or utilized on an unstable surface.
• If lamps are broken or damaged, follow cleanup procedures
found in this manual. Contact UVC Experts LLC for service or
replacement components.
• Do not remove safety labels; they are there for the user’s
protection.
• Always inspect the power cord before use, if power cord is
damaged, do mot operate, call the UVC Experts Representative
immediately.
• Do not touch lamps or metal cage after operation. Lamps will be
hot during operation and should NEVER be touched.
• Do not modify or alter the product as it may compromise the
equipment’s safety and void the warranty.
• Use replacement parts supplied by UVC Experts. Avoid the use
of aftermarket bulb replacements.
• UVC Expert devices weigh approximately 39 lbs. They will
require adequate strength to maintain control of the equipment
during transportation.
• Never operate more than two SolarStorm 800 on a single
15AMP circuit. The SolarStorm LE UVC Experts device requires
a dedicated 15AMP circuit to operate dual units. A single
SolarStorm 800 device requires a 7.0AMP circuit or greater
to operate.

Reading the materials will ensure that the product is used safely. The warnings are important and highlight an important message relating
to the operation of our product.
Failure to comply with these warnings could lead to damage to the product, personal property and severe injury.
The warnings and precautions discussed in this manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may arise or occur.
The operator must understand that caution must be used when operating a high-powered electrical device.
The Caution label to the left is located on the primary assembly and
includes information important to the safe operation of the equipment.
Please remember to read the complete user manual before operation.

magnetically adhered or suspended with lanyards provided.

The Welcome Pack includes all of the essential paperwork to get you going. The packet
consists of signage, the user manual, safety and operation information.

Do Not Enter Signs
The safety warning door sign should be displayed on all entry points to the areas that are
being treated. Its purpose is to inform others that a UVC device is in progress and no persons
or animals should enter the space. Signage alerts and reminds others that UVC exposure is
harmful and to take extra precautions.
Remote Control
A simple, compact and easy to use remote is included with the product. It is the only way to
operate the UVC cleaning system devices with buttons for Start and Stop. Wireless range
over 330ft. (100m). RF signal can go through walls. The remote includes a Type 12V A23
(Duracell 8LR50 or equivalent) battery.
The User Manual is the source of information for the SolarStorm 800.
It provides information on equipment safety, operations, service and troubleshooting.
The SolarStorm 800 is a small room and transport vehicle germicidal ultraviolet C treatment
device. UVC Expert devices are designed to treat the air and surfaces in an enclosed space.

Purpose

This is accomplished by:

The UVC Experts SolarStorm 800 is a germicidal Ultraviolet - C (UVC) disinfection product that
is designed to be portable and used by trained individuals in commercial and industrial
environments. The product is shipped fully assembled and provides easy to use and repeatable
process, ensuring that your environment is thoroughly treated with germicidal UVC light.
The compact and lightweight design of the SolarStorm 800 was developed with safety,
durability, and efficiency in mind.

Assembly Instructions
Inspect the Unit to ensure there are no broken lamps or damaged parts.
The handle should be secure. The cord assembly should have no cuts or damage. If
damage is found, do not use the product and contact UVC Experts.
Please contact UVC Experts immediately if you have received equipment that is defective.
Remote Control
The remote comes fully assembled and linked to the Unit. The long-range on the remote is
approximately 330 ft. and operates through walls. The average life of the battery is 3-6
months or longer depending on the use and can be easily replaced with Type 12V A23
(Duracell 8LR50 or equivalent) battery.
The battery is previously installed and linked to each unit when shipped. If a new battery is
needed, remove the back cover battery door to access the battery on the back of the
remote. Remove the battery housing, then the battery from its housing.
Insert (1) Type 12V A23 (Duracell 8LR50 or equivalent) battery into the remote. Make sure
the polarity of the battery matches the diagram on the inside of the battery case. Reinstall
the battery housing into the assembly then fasten the cover using the three screws.
Select the desired run time by pressing the button on the timer control panel to the
desired run time. Immediately exit the treatment area and ensure no other people or pets
are present. Activate the device from outside the treatment area using the inluded
designated remote.
Always post warning signs at the entrance and exit locations of the site you are treating.

Each unit comes completely assembled, and the power cord assembly is shipped
separately. To activate the device, plug the device power cord into the power entry module
securely. Plug the SolarStorm 400 into a 15-amp outlet and turn ON/OFF Switch on the
power entry module to the ON position. The light will illuminate, and the fan will turn on.
Transportation
WARNING: The SolarStorm 400 UVC Emitter is a portable unit and weighs approximately 39 lbs. It requires adequate strength to
maintain control of the equipment during transportation and placement. It requires one person to lift and position the device during use
and transport.
The SolarStorm 400 is designed to be placed in any direction, and is equipped with four, non-marking rubber feet. The integrated
aluminum handlesand the top handle can be used to push, pull, or lift the Unit as needed. The handles also provide limited impact
protection if necessary.
The Solarstorm 400 can be transported in a vehicle secured and standing upright. It is not recommended that you lay the unit flat
because of potential damage to components, including lamps.

Room Staging
The room or area must be cleaned first (primary cleaning using traditional and approved
cleaning methods in accordance with the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions or the cleaning
disinfectant instruction.) Primary cleaning is used to remove foreign materials (e.g., dust, soil,
and organic materials (e.g., blood, secretions, excretions before the UVC treatment is
performed.
Remove all soft items from the treatment area, including any bedding, pillows, and clothing.
Open all cupboards, drawers, curtains, and interior doors. Be sure to expose as many of the
intended cleaning surfaces to the UVC light as possible.
Remove all medications, plants, animals, pets, and people from the environment.
Place warning signs at all entry/exit points coming into the room.
Unit Setup
Operating Procedures - Single Unit Operations
Monitor Treatment in Progress
Activate the unit using the ON/OFF button on the remote control from outside of the treatment
area. The unit will run for a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 60 minutes.
1. Plug the UVC portable device into a 15amp circuit.
2. Select the integrated timer switch to the desired run time.
3. Exit the treatment area and place “warning signs” at all entry and exit points. DO
NOT expose yourself or others to UVC light. It is harmful to your eyes and skin.
4. If the door seal at the bottom or the edge of the door allows more than 3/4” exposure
to light, it is recommended that the user cover with a blocking material to prevent
light from escaping during treatment.
5. When complete, the timer will expire, and the lamps will turn off. The fan will remain
on. The operator can also deactivate the lamps at any time using the remote.
ROOM STAGING / UNIT SETUP / OPERATING PROCEDURES
Place and position the SolarStorm 400 device into the treatment area and place it in the
center of the room or transport vehicle. Spacing from the walls or environment should be of
equal distance. Make sure that no objects are within 6 inches of the lamps. Items or garments
placed immediately or contacting the unit may become hot and discolored. If using multiple
units, they should be evenly spaced throughout the rooms or the transport vehicle.
Plug the device into a dedicated 15amp or 20amp circuit. Visually inspect the power cord and
plug for damage and abrasions or compromised areas. If the insulation on the cord or plug is
damaged, broken or not in factory condition, do not use the device and contact UVC Experts.
It is safe to run up to four SolarStorm LE units off one dedicated 15amp circuit.
WARNING: Only trained individuals on the use of the device, safety measures, and the use of
UVC as a disinfection device should use the SolarStorm 400.
The SolarStorm 400 is designed to allow the user to control its operation with the setting of
an integrated digital timer that controls the activation of the lamps.

Equipment Storage
The unit should be kept in a dry, clean indoor space. It should be stored in a room with a
temperature range of 50-80° F (10-27° C). Do not lean or set foreign objects on the device.
Maintenance and Device Care
> Do not spray cleaners or disinfectants directly on the device as to avoid ingress of fluid.
> If required, use a mild disinfectant solution to clean the exterior and the remote control
by applying the cleaning solution on a towellete, or cloth and gently wiping the device.
> Do not use disinfectant sprays on the bulbs. If the bulbs require cleaning, use 70%
denatured rubbing alcohol and apply with a lint free cloth.
EQUIPMENT CARE AND SERVICE
The SolarStorm 800 should be cleaned on a regular basis using nonabrasive products such as
bleach, alcohol, or some types of disinfectant. Do not soak down the unit and spray the unit as
fluid will enter sensitive electrical areas. Fluid ingress will damage the unit and cause a critical
failure and possible electric shock. Only clean the outer surfaces where operators are
touching during daily use.
Always allow the equipment to acclimate prior to use in the case of severe temperature such
as cold weather. Cover and protect with the SolarStorm accessory cover.
Service & Maintenance
All service and maintenance for the SolarStorm 400 should be performed by UVC Experts or
an authorized distributor. Please call or e-mail UVC Experts to speak with a representative or
call your local distributor.
Do not alter or adulterate the product using non-OEM parts, including UVC lamps or power cords.
The customer should never disassemble, repair, or replace any parts on the device. Service is
only performed by a qualified representative. A failure to follow these instructions could result in a
breach of product warranty. Failure to follow these instructions could also result in bodily harm,
personal injury, fire, and even death. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE AND SERVICE THE UVC
EXPERTS EQUIPMENT.
Service Process:
Contact UVC Experts at 616-379-9159 / www[email protected] / or your local distributor to
report a service claim.
Depending on the reason for the service, this will prompt UVC Experts or its’ distributors to deliver
a replacement unit or schedule a service technician for an on-site repair. If a replacement unit is
shipped, the customer will remove the new unit from the shipping carton and repackage the
carton with the unit to be serviced.
All shipping documents will be included in the package for return.

For Containment
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves and safety eyewear.
Collect materials needed to clean up broken bulb: stiff paper or cardboard; sticky tape; damp
paper towels or disposable wet wipes (for hard surfaces); and a glass jar with a metal lid or a
sealable plastic bag. Be thorough in collecting broken glass.
For Cleaning Up
DO NOT VACUUM. Vacuuming is not recommended unless broken glass remains after all
other cleanup steps have been taken. Vacuuming could spread mercury-containing powder or
mercury vapor. Scoop up glass fragments using stiff paper or cardboard and sticky tape.
Place cleanup materials in a sealable container.
A lamp breaking is extremely unlikely to have any impact on your health. If a lamp breaks,
ventilate the room for 30 minutes and remove the parts, preferably with gloves. Put them in a
sealed plastic bag and take it to your local waste facility for recycling.
Do not use a vacuum cleaner.

Exposure to UVC light
Never expose yourself, other people, or animals to UVC light; this can cause burns to your
eyes and skin. If you are exposed to UVC for an extended time, see an Opthalmologists and
seek medical attention immediately for care.
How often does the UVC need to be serviced? The UVC unit has been built with smart technology inside. Typically,
UVC emitters will last for approximately 6000 treatments before
requiring service. However, the actual number of cycles may vary
depending based on operating conditions.
The equipment should never be disassembled, opened, or altered by
the user. This could create a safety issue and will void the warranty.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
How long does it take to complete treatment? Treatments can operate in as little as 10 minutes or as long as 60
minutes, it ios depending on the room size, transport vehicle size,
and the objects in the room. We recommend running the device for a
total of 10 minutes for surfaces within 3’ of device and for up to 20
minutes for surfaces that are 8’ in distance from device.
How do I clean a site if an accidental break occurs? A lamp breaking is extremely unlikely to have any impact on your
health. If a lamp breaks, ventilate the room for 30 minutes and
remove the parts, preferably with gloves. Put them in a sealed plastic
bag and take it to your local waste facilities for recycling. Do not use
a vacuum cleaner.
What happens if remote is lost or broken? UVC Experts can provide replacement.
How much mercury content is in each of the bulbs? Each bulb contains a small amount of mercury measured at 4.4mg.
Does the product generate Ozone during a treatment? The UVC emitter uses a proprietary UVC germicidal bulb that does
not gernerate Ozone. The environment is immediately accessable
after a treatment is complete.
What is the odor detected after a treatment? The odor detected after a treatment is the reaction of UVC irradiation
with particles of dust in the air, virol loads, skin oils on surfaces, and
other contaminants.
How do i know if the treatment was successful? UVC Experts sells color-changing cards (dosimeters) that change
color when activated by UVC light.
What if lamp breaks? Do not use the unit if lamps are broken. Some lamps may become
discolored at the bottom but not broken. These are safe to operate
with but should be replaced at earliest possible opportunity. Contact
UVC Experts or your local distributor for a replacement.

Check that the power cord is plugged into a live power receptacle.
Check that the fuse in the power entry module is not blown.
DO NOT OPERATE the SolarStorm LE on a GFCI Circuit.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Operating Temperature This equipment is for indoor use only and has an operating temperature
of 40°F to 100°F (5°C to 38°C). Any misuse of this equipment could lead
to the risk of fire, shock and bodily harm.
Remote out of radio frequency range The remote control has a 330 foot (100m) range. The remote control will
stay in the same “state” when out of range and will automatically update
the status when back in range.
Remote is Unresponsive Inspect the battery in the handheld remote control. Ensure that the
battery is installed properly in the receptacle. Replace the battery if the
small red LED light on the remote control does not light.
Remote button(s) do not repond Replace the battery. If the issue does not resolve contact UVC Experts for
service.
