STONEFIRE INNER FRAME KIT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
CSA approved for use only with
Valor Model 530 Heater and a StoneFire mantel
1. GENERAL
The ‘Kit’ consists of a set of black sheet metal panels used to extend the perimeter size of the engine to
accommodate StoneFire mantels, with the addition of an inner cast iron removable frame.

Note:
These instructions are in addition to installation instructions supplied with Valor 530
firebox unit.
Any framing construction must be clear of standoffs (fig 1-2).
•A non-combustible hearth is not
necessary in front of this appliance.
•The 530 fireplace is approved to install
directly on wood sub-flooring.
•Any framing construction must be

2. FRAMING KIT ASSEMBLY
•Locate legs brackets to sides of engine and secure with 4 #8 screws; locate and secure rear support (fig 3).
•Secure duct to leg framing using 2 screw holes located through rear of leg (fig 4).
•Position shield on top of duct and secure with 2 #8 screws. (fig 5).
•Note: Shield can be placed in two positions dependant on which StoneFire mantel is being installed (fig 5).
•Locate and secure stand-offs to rear corners of engine (fig 5a).
•Place engine into cavity and secure to framing (fig 1-2).
•Position top cover onto legs and secure to framing (fig 5).
•After installation of mantel, locate and secure removable frame assembly (fig 6).

3. FRAMING KIT ASSEMBLY
•After installation of mantel, locate and secure two of each RH and LH fixing brackets to rear face of removable
frame using screws provided. Note the left and right as seen from rear face of casting (fig 6).
•Hook the removable frame to leg brackets assembly (fig 7).

4. OPTIONAL DOOR KIT ASSEMBLY
4.1 SFDKAL Door kit Alhambra style
•Unhook removable cast frame if previously fitted.
•Because the StoneFire mantels vary in depth, cast
spacers are used to locate brackets accordingly.
•Traditional and Classic mantels: When installing a
Traditional or Classic mantels, hinges do not require a
spacer (fig 9).
•Contemporary mantel: When installing the
Contemporary mantel, use one spacer per hinge bracket
when securing to the removable cast frame (fig 10).
•Locate doors to hinges (fig 11).

4.2 SFDKMS Door kit Mesh screen style
•Unhook removable cast frame if previously fitted.
•Because the StoneFire mantels vary in depth, cast spacers are used to
locate brackets accordingly.
•Traditional and Classic mantels: When installing a Traditional or a
Classic mantel with a Mesh screen door—
ouse one spacer for each hinge bracket when securing to removable
cast frame (fig 13);
ono spacer required with the magnetic bracket when securing to the
removable cast frame (fig 14).
•Contemporary mantel: When installing a Contemporary mantel
with a Mesh screen door—
ouse two spacers for each hinge bracket when securing to
removable cast frame (fig 15);
ouse one spacer with the magnetic bracket when securing to the
removable cast frame (fig 16).
•Locate door to hinges (fig 17).
