This operating instructions manual provides all the information you
need for installation and commissioning.Please read this information
before setting up the instrument and keep this manual accessible in
the immediate vicinity of the device.

2.1Authorised personnel
All operations described in this operating instructions manual must be
carried out only by trained specialist personnel authorised by the plant
operator.
During work on and with the device the required personal protective
equipment must always be worn.
2.2Appropriate use
The PC operation VEGABAR 12 allows data to be read out of the
instrument and adjustment data to be saved in the instrument.
2.3Warning about misuse
Inappropriate or incorrect use of the instrument can give rise to
application-specific hazards,e.g.vessel overfill or damage to system
components through incorrect mounting or adjustment.
2.4General safety instructions
Installation and use of the software are carried out at your own risk.We
do not accept liability for consequential damage.
2.5Environmental instructions
Protection of the environment is one of our most important duties.That

3.2Principle of operation
PC operation VEGABAR 12 allows the following functions:
lRead out current data from device
-Serial number
-Measuring range
-Adjustment
-Pressure type
-Software version
lSave min./max.adjustment data in device
3.3Storage and transport
The packaging consists of easily separable monomaterials.These
materials are environment-friendly and recyclable.Dispose of the
packaging material via specialised recycling companies.
No special storage and transport conditions are necessary.

4.1System requirements
Pentium 500 MHz or higher,min.128 MB RAM,200 MB free memory,
Windows 2000/XP/Vista,Internet Explorer 6.0or higher,resolution
1024 x768 or higher,Microsoft compatible mouse,RS232 interface.
4.2Install software
1Before installation,all running programs should be exited.
2Insert the CD,the installation program will be started automatically.
If the CD does not start automatically,the installation can be
started by a double click to the file "autorun.exe".

5.2Start PC operation
Start the PC operation of "VEGABAR 12"via the Windows start menu.
The program window "Select action"opens.

First of all,select"Read Data and Adjustment".Sensor data will be
loaded,the window "Sensor Data"appears.

Check by means of the data if the correct instrument is connected.
Then select "Enter Adjustment".The menu window "Adjustment"will
be opened.
Enter the pressure values for "Min.- Adjustment"(4mA)and "Max.-
Adjustment"(20 mA)in bar.Confirm the setting with "Store to
device".The data will be loaded into the sensor.

6Maintenance and fault rectification
6.1Maintenance/Update
PC operation VEGABAR 12 is virtually maintenance-free.Software
updates are available in certain cases for fault rectification or
integration of new functions.For further information see our
homepage:www.vega.com.
6.2Remove interferences
Depending on the fault,PC operation may generate its own error
messages with appropriate explanations.
