as VELLEMAN components Ltd deems necessary, to the replacement or reparation of defective components. Costs and risks connected to the transport, removal or place-
ment of the product, or any other costs directly or indirectly connected to the repair, will not be reimbursed by VELLEMAN components Ltd. VELLEMAN components Ltd will
not be held responsible for any damages caused by the malfunctioning of a unit.
Safety and warning instructions
All repairs should be executed by qualified technicians.
Avoid the installation of the module in locations with standing or running water or excessive humidity. Indoor use only !
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
 Handle the module gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage the circuit board and case.
 Never exceed the protection limit values indicated in the specifications.
 As safety requirement vary, please check with your local authorities.
 No objects or liquids should be allowed to penetrate the housing.
 Disconnect the module from the AC power before connecting new devices.
 Wipe the device with a dry and clean cloth. Do not use detergents or other liquids that may damage the housing.
 Keep the device away from children.
 Facilitate the operation of the device by familiarising yourself with its adjustments and indications.
 Velleman modules are not suitable for use oras part of life support systems, or systemsthat might create hazardous situations of kind.

Repair under warranty is only possible with date and proof of purchase.

This dimmer module is designed for controlling the intensity of conventional incan-
descent lamps or halogen lighting, both AC power voltage and low voltage in combi-
nation with a dimmable electronic transformer. This dimmer uses reverse phase
technology. On the one hand, this technology will reduce the interference on the
lighting system generated by the dimmer. On the other hand, this dimmer is suited
to control electronic transformers, used with low voltage halogen lighting.

Use
USE
 Turn off the AC power (deactivate the main fuse of your switch box).
 Connect a load suitable for the specifications of this module !
You can now power up your VM131
When powering up the red status LED (LD1) will blink once (twice with AC power 60Hz) during the internal diagnose test.
After this short test the module will start automatically the normal operation of this module. If the module detects irregularities
during self test or during operation, the module will switch to ALARM mode. The status LED will blink slowly once, followed
by flashes (see "Error message").
Use :
Push the button briefly to switch on or switch off the light source or keep the button pressed to adjust the light intensity. When
a dimming cycle reaches an end point (max. light intensity or switched off) the dimming cycle will automatically halt. To in-
verse the dimming direction, release the push button and keep it pressed again. The last set light intensity will be memorized
when switching off the light source with a brief press of the operation button. The light intensity will also be memorized in
case of an AC power failure. For safety reasons a lamp will not switch on after an AC power failure.
Status LED (LD1) indications at normal operation:
 Flashes 1x every 5 seconds when the module is in stand by mode (lamp off).
 Flashes 2x per second when the lighting burns in dimmed mode.
 Flashes 5x per second when the lighting burns at full light intensity.
 Blinks 1x per second during the dimming cycle.
Error message:
The status LED will continue burning for a while after which it will flash a couple of times. This flashing indicates a problem.
The AC power grid could contains signals which would interfere with the operation of the module. Disconnect the AC power
and try again later (or try another location). If the error message keeps appearing, please contact your Velleman dealer or
the Velleman Support team.







Veiligheidsaanwijzingen en waarschuwingen

Installeer de module niet op plaatsen met staand of stromend water of in ruimtes met een te hoge vochtigheidsgraad.
Binnengebruik enkel! VEILIGHEIDSAANWIJZINGEN
 Vermijd een ruwe behandeling. Stoten of laten vallen kunnen ernstige schade aanbrengen.
 Overschrijdt nooit de opgegeven veiligheidswaarden in de specificaties.
 Vermits de veiligheid vereisten verschillen van plaats tot plaats, zorg daarom dat Uw montage voldoet aan de plaatselijke
geldende vereisten.
 Let op dat er geen voorwerpen of vloeistoffen in het toestel dringen.
 Zorg ervoor dat de netspanning altijd uitgeschakeld is bij het aansluiten van nieuwe toestellen.
 Houdt vooral kinderen uit de buurt van het toestel dit ter veiligheid van hun zelf.

Deze dimmermodule is bestemd voor het regelen van de helderheid van
conventionele gloeilampen en halogeenverlichting, zowel op netspanning als op
laagspanning in samenwerking met een dimbare elektronische transformator. De
gebruikte techniek is faseafsnijding. De voordelen van deze techniek zijn enerzijds
dat deze dimmer weinig storingen op het lichtnet genereert en anderzijds is deze
dimmer geschikt voor het aansturen van elektronische transformatoren, gebruikt bij
laagspanningshalogeenverlichting.

 Schakel de netspanning uit (schakel de hoofdzekering van je schakelkast uit).
 Sluit een belasting aan die conform is met deze module !
Je kunt nu de spanning van je VM131 inschakelen
Bij het aanbrengen van de netspanning zal de rode status LED (LD1) 1x (2x bij bij AC-voeding 60Hz) knipperen tijdens de
interne diagnose test. Na deze korte test start automatisch de normale werking van deze module. Als de module
onregelmatigheden detecteert tijdens de zelftest of tijdens de werking, zal de module in ALARM stand overgaan. De status
LED zal dan 1x langzaam knipperen gevolgd door een aantal flitsen (zie "Foutmelding").
Gebruik :
Druk kort de bedieningsdrukknop in om het lichtpunt in of uit te schakelen of houd de toets ingedrukt om de lichtsterkte te
regelen. Als een dimcyclus een eindpunt bereikt (Max lichtsterkte of gedoofd) zal de dimcyclus automatisch halt houden.
Om de dimrichting om te keren, even de drukknop loslaten op opnieuw ingedrukt houden. De laatst gebruikte lichtsterkte
wordt in het geheugen opgeslagen, als u het lichtpunt dooft met een korte druk op de bedieningstoets. Deze lichtsterkte
wordt ook bewaard bij een netspanninguitval. Om veiligheidsreden begint de lamp niet opnieuw te branden na een
netspanninguitval.
Status LED (LD1) indicaties bij normale werking:
 Flitst 1x om de 5 seconden als de module in rust is (lamp uit).
 Flitst 2x per seconde wanneer de verlichting brandt in een gedimde stand.
 Flitst 5x per seconde wanneer de verlichting op volle lichtsterkte brandt.
 Knippert 1x per seconde tijdens een dimcyclus.
Foutmelding:
Bij een foutmelding blijft de status LED even branden en flitst daarna een aantal maal. Dit aantal flitsen geeft een indicatie
van het probleem. De netspanning kan storingen bevatten die de goede werking van deze module verhinderen. Verwijder de
netspanning en probeer later opnieuw (of op een andere plaats). Blijft de foutindicatie zich herhalen, gelieve dan contact op
te nemen met uw Velleman dealer of het Velleman Support team
