■Work on the refrigerant circuit may only be carried
out by authorised refrigeration engineers.

Safety instructions for working on the system
Working on the system
■Isolate the system from the power supply, e.g. by
removing the separate fuse or by means of a mains
isolator, and check that it is no longer live.
Note
In addition to the control circuit there may be several
power circuits.
Danger
Contact with live components can result in
severe injuries. Some components on PCBs
remain live even after the power supply has
been switched off.
Prior to removing covers from the appliances,
wait at least 4 minutes until the voltage has
completely dropped out.
■Safeguard the system against reconnection.
■Wear suitable personal protective equipment when
carrying out any work.
Danger
Hot surfaces can cause burns.
■Before maintenance and service work, switch
OFF the appliance and let it cool down.
■Never touch hot surfaces on the appliance, fit-
tings or pipework.

Electronic assemblies can be damaged by elec-
trostatic discharge.
Prior to commencing work, touch earthed
objects such as heating or water pipes to dis-
charge static loads.

ted together with the system can compromise its
function. Installing non-authorised components
and making non-approved modifications or con-

For a standard system scheme, see the installa-
tion and service instructions of the relevant heat
pump.
Setting levels
To prevent incorrect operation of the heat pump and
other system components, not all setting options are
available at every setting level.
Example:
Control parameters can only be called up in the "Serv-
ice" setting level or higher.
System user
This setting level is suitable for persons who have
been instructed in the operation of the heating system
by the heating contractor (specialist).
■The system is switched on and off from the main
page.
■The menu is launched with the "Menu" button.
The menu offers further functions such as setting
time programs or displaying an overview of the sys-
tem.
For functions at the "System user" setting level,
see the operating instructions.
Service
Additional functions and parameters are available at
this setting level.
Note
■The password-protected settings may only be per-
formed by heating contractor personnel who have
been trained in the use of Viessmann heat pumps.
To change password-protected settings, please see
the "Login and language" and "Configuration" chap-
ters.

The programming unit is equipped with a touchscreen.
The display boots up as soon as you touch the screen.
The main page appears.
If the screen is not touched for 5 minutes, the display
returns automatically to the main page.
If the screen is not touched for 15 minutes, the display
switches off automatically.

The button switches off the entire system. Controller
and sensors remain operational. The power supply to
the system will not be interrupted. Actual values can
still be scanned; remote diagnosis/maintenance also
remains possible. Frost protection remains active. The
system can be restarted by pressing the button
again or by remote access.
If the mains isolator is switched off, then the power
supply to the system will be completely interrupted.

Some settings can only be changed after obtaining
authorisation by entering a password.
The login data for the Service level (service and com-
missioning engineers) is as follows:

Please note that the user name and password are
case-sensitive.

Saving/loading the configuration
For settings to be adopted, they must first be saved
using the "Save" button.
A saved configuration is loaded automatically where
required.
In the following cases, it may be necessary to load a
saved configuration using the "Load" button:
■If settings have been changed accidentally
■To adopt a configuration in a software update
■To restore after a total failure of the power supply
and backup battery
■To adopt a configuration from another control sys-
tem. For this purpose, a configuration can be backed
up onto a PC via FTP.
■To load a previous version if problems are encoun-
tered with the current configuration
■To load a configuration originally created at the fac-
tory and saved under a different name (factory set-
ting).

Description/external control options
With full external control, the primary pump, secondary
pump, the 3-way mixing valve for low temperature
maintenance and the 3-way mixing valve for high tem-
perature maintenance are controlled. The number of
enabled compressor stages can be specified via the
Modbus.

Once the system is connected to an existing network,
the settings "IP address", "Subnet" and "Gateway"
must be agreed with the network administrator.
The "UID" is the number of the Modbus unit.
Note
The settings do not become effective until after they
have been saved. See "Configuration" -> "Save" in
Fig. 5.
!Please note
If the programming unit is connected via the
Ethernet, it will no longer function once the
Ethernet address is changed.
The control system's new IP address must be
entered in the programming unit setup:
■Touch the empty section on the screen until
the setup menu is displayed.
■In "Web Connection" -> "Remote host IP",
enter the new IP address.
■Confirm with "OK".
■Tap the "Back" symbol twice (top left).
■Save setting with "Safe".

System data
On this page, you can change the data that is dis-
played on the main page. The data is not reset after
logging off.
If people are to be notified of faults via email, up to 5
email addresses can be given.

The value may be overridden by the application lim-
its.
■"Htg limit"
If the average outside temperature (averaging over
24 hours) is lower than this value, the heating func-
tion for the heating water buffer cylinder is enabled.
■"Start temp, heating water buffer cylinder"
If the temperature differential at the top of the heat-
ing water buffer cylinder is greater than this value,
the heating function for the heating water buffer cyl-
inder is switched on.
■"Stop temp, compressor stage 1/2/3"
If the temperature at the bottom of the heating water
buffer cylinder reaches these differentials, the
respective stages are switched off.
