Langsamfahrwiderstand 5216
Dem Signal 4503 liegt der Viessmann-Langsam-
fahrwiderstand 5216 bei. Damit kann ein vorbild-
gerechtes langsames Fahren realisiert werden Er
kann sowohl auf konventionellen, als auch auf digi-
talen Anlagen eingesetzt werden.
Je nach gewünschter bzw. erforderlicher Geschwin-
digkeitsreduzierung im Langsamfahrbereich stellen
Sie über die Ausgangsbuchsen einen individuellen
Widerstandswert ein.
Die Schaltung auf der Rückseite zeigt den Anschluss
des Bausteins. Auf den Signalbegriff „Fahrt“ (Hp1)
hat der Langsamfahrwiderstand keinen Einfluss, er
wird in diesem Fall überbrückt.
1. Der Fahrstrom vom Transformator wird grund-
sätzlich in die mit „Eingang“ bezeichnete Buchse
eingespeist.
2. Der Ausgang zur Schiene kann wahlweise an
den Buchsen 10 Ohm, 20 Ohm oder 30 Ohm
angeschlossen werden. Je höher der Ohm-
Wert, desto geringer ist die Geschwindigkeit des
Zuges.
3. Den Zwischenwert 15 Ohm (rot beschriftet)
erhalten Sie, wenn Sie für den Anschluss an die
Schiene den 20 Ohm-Ausgang verwenden und
gleichzeitig eine Kabelverbindung zwischen die
10 Ohm- und 30 Ohm-Buchse stecken.
Überlast
Leuchtet im Betrieb die Überlast-Anzeige auf,
schalten Sie den Fahrstrom ab. Beseitigen Sie
die Ursache der Überlastung (z. B. Kurzschluss auf
den Gleisen). Nach kurzer Abkühlzeit (ca. 2 Min.) ist
der Langsamfahrwiderstand wieder einsatzbereit.
Montage
Die Befestigung des Bausteins erfolgt mit den bei-
liegenden Schrauben. Da der Langsamfahrwider-
stand prinzipbedingt im Betrieb heiß werden kann,
beachten Sie folgende Hinweise:
1. Lüftungsschlitze nicht abdecken!
2. Baustein mit nach oben zeigenden Lüftungs-
schlitzen montieren, also keine Über-Kopf-Mon-
tage direkt unter der Anlage.
3. Keine leicht entzündlichen Materialien in unmit-
telbarer Nähe anbringen bzw. deponieren.
Slow Driving Resistor 5216
The signal 4503 is delivered with the slow-driving-
resistor 5216. The slow driving resistor has been
especially developed for the usage on model rail-
way layouts. We want to point out to the integrated
overload protection with indicator and the possibil-
ity to use the resistor in digital systems, too.
It’s quite easy to wire up the module. You have to
insert it only into the supply pipe to the track.
It is fundamental necessary that you insert the
track power only in the 5216 socket which is called
“Eingang”.
The output to the track now can be taken from the
sockets “10 Ohm”, “20 Ohm“ or “30 Ohm“. The
higher the Ohm value, the slower the train will be.
You have to determine inividual the correct value
empirically. You will get a resistance of 15 Ohms,
if you use the “20 Ohm“ output and make an addi-
tional connection from the ”10 Ohm” socket to the
“30 Ohm” socket.
To install a slow driving section it is necessary that
you insulate one conductor of your track against
the rest of the layout (fig. 1).
When the signal displays “slow driving” (Hp2) than
it means slow driving not (only) in the stop section
in front of the signal but in particular slow driving
behind the signal.
Overload
The Slow Driving Resistor 5216 has an overload
protection unit. If an overload is detected the red
light goes on. First of all you have to redress
the cause of the overload and remove the track
power. After a cooling time for about 1 to 2 minutes
the Slow Driving Resistor is again ready to use.
Mounting
Mount the module with the enclosed screws. The
resistor can get hot while it is in use. Therefore pay
attention to the following instructions:
1. Don’t cover the ventilation slots!
2. Mount the module with the ventilation slots on
the top. Don’t mount it overhead!
3. Never mount or store any inflammable materials
in direct nearness of the resistor.
