Viking hoods ar quipp d with th variabl
sp d controls for blow rs. Th s units will not
function with a singl sp d v ntilator. All Viking
v ntilator kits ar d sign d sp cifically for us
with Viking hoods. Us of any non-Viking
v ntilator kit will void th hood warranty.

• Before servicin or cleanin unit, switch
power off at service panel and lock
service panel to prevent power from
bein switched on accidentally. When
the service disconnectin means cannot
be locked, securely fasten a prominent
warnin device, such as a ta , to the
service panel.

FIRE HAZARD
To reduce the risk of a
ran etop rease fire:
•NEVER leave surface units
unattended at hi h settin . Boilovers
cause smokin and reasy spillovers
that may i nite. Heat oils slowly on low
or medium settin s.
•ALWAYS turn hood ON when cookin at
hi h heat or when cookin flamin foods
(i.e. Crepes suzette, Cherries jubilee,
Peppercorn beef flambé).
• Clean ventilatin fans frequently. Grease
should not be allowed to accumulate on
fan or filter.
• Use proper pan size. ALWAYS use
cookware appropriate for the size of the
surface element. CAUTION
For eneral ventilatin use only. DO NOT
use to exhaust hazardous or explosive
materials and vapors.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury to persons in the
event of a ran etop rease fire, observe the
followin . (Based on “Kitchen Firesafety
Tips,” published by NFPA.)
• Smother flames with a close fitted lid,
cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn off
the burner. Be careful to prevent burns.
If the flames do not o out immediately,
Evacuate and call the fire department.
•NEVER pick up a flamin pan.
•DO NOT use water, includin wet
dishcloths or towels a violent steam
explosion will result.
• Use an extin uisher ONLY if:
– You know it is a Class ABC extin uisher,
and you already know how to operate it.

area where it started.
