IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
This product has a unique “beam-of-air” approach to air movement
that allows it to be used effectively in the above ways; inversely
however it does not have a broad width of air movement and may not
be appropriate for that type of application.
Direct Cooling
Use the Vornado®293HD Shop Fan with the air
beam pointed directly at you or your workspace.
This product has the unique ability to project the
beam of air a long distance. Moving air can
make you feel up to 5 degrees cooler.
Fresh Air Exchange
Use the Vornado 293HD Shop Fan in a
doorway to draw-in fresh air to a workspace.
Place the fan in the area that you want to draw
air from, the fan will then project this air far into
the room. If you only have one door or window
into the room keep the air beam low in the
opening to allow air to escape out the top of
the opening. If you have more than one door
or window open, use the fan in conjunction with
prevailing winds to assist in fresh air exchange.
Air Exhaust
Use the Vornado 293HD Shop Fan in a
doorway or near a window to exhaust air,
odors, or airborne particles. If you have more
than one door or window open, use the fan in
conjunction with prevailing winds, to assist in
exhausting air. If you only have one door or
window into the room keep the air beam low
in the opening to allow fresh air to come in the
opening at the top. Do not use this or any
portable fan to exhaust flammable vapors.
Power Drying
Use the Vornado 293HD Shop Fan for power
drying projects. The head of the Vornado 293HD
Shop Fan can be tilted downward to dry floors
or pointed up at walls or ceiling to dry paint or
sheetrock. It can also be used to dry finishes on
projects, with just the right amount of airflow.
Do not set fan on wet surfaces.
Winter Energy Saving with
Destratification
Use the Vornado 293HD Shop Fan for
destratisfying winter air. Point the Vornado
293HD Shop Fan straight up to pump the cool
air up off the floor and to bring the warm air
down from the ceiling making all the air in the
room a consistent temperature. Even in just an
8-foot tall room the temperature can vary 10
Degrees F from top to bottom, variation is even
greater in taller rooms. Vornado effectively
brings this warm air from the ceiling down to the
floor where people are; this may allow you to
adjust your thermostat and save on heating bills.
Summer Energy Savings with Air
Conditioning
Use the Vornado 293HD Shop Fan to assist
your air conditioning in several ways. Use it to
push air-conditioned air further into the room.
Even with air conditioning, direct air blowing on
you makes you feel up to 5 degrees cooler; this
may allow you to set your thermostat higher and
save on cooling bills.
Air Pump
Use the Vornado 293HD Shop Fan as an
air pump. Help move air from one area to
another horizontally or vertically. Place the unit
in the area you want to pump the air from and
point it to the area you would like to send it to.
Use it to pump air from one room to another, up
a flight of stairs, down a hallway, or to keep
cool air directed to a warm spot or machine.
Linear Cooling
Use the Vornado 293HD Shop Fan to create a
long-range beam of cooling for multiple-person
cooling effect. The long-range beam of air will
push air up to 100 feet, keeping multiple persons
more comfortable.
Whole Room Circulation
Using the Vornado 293HD Shop Fan in a
closed room environment will create whole room
circulation. The closed room allows the Vornado
to create a beam of air that can shoot across a
room and then circulate back around the
perimeter creating whole room circulation with
air moving everywhere in the room. Remember
circulating air makes you feel cool and can
allow you to lower your cooling bills.
How To Use Our unique, high-velocity air beam technology
is designed to be used in many and specific ways:

before any cleaning activity.
To clean motor cap and inlet ribs
:
Use a
vacuum to remove dust from the inlet side
or wipe with a damp cloth using mild
dishwashing soap if necessary, do not use a
water spray to clean these parts of the
Vornado 293HD Shop Fan.
To clean grill:
To remove the grill; press in
on the grill clips by placing your thumbs
against the outside surface of the clips. At
the same time press them down toward the
motor (applying slight pressure forward
may be necessary). Repeat the process
against the remaining two clips then lift the
grill out of the cowl. Dust or wipe the grill

Dust blade or wipe with a
damp cloth with mild soap or a common
household cleaner. Do not use solvents
To remove the blade:
Just pull on the blade,
straight out from the shaft. When replacing,
the blade can only go on the shaft one
way. Be certain the flat side of the shaft
aligns directly with the same flat side on the
blade socket. Push the blade all the way on
the shaft until it bottoms out. Do not use a
hammer as this could result in bearing
damage.
To clean base:
Dust base or wipe with a
damp cloth with mild soap or a common
household cleaner. Do not use solvents
These quality elements combine to provide you with a unique
high velocity airflow. Use it to cool, pump, destratify, exhaust,
exchange air, dry, or for whole room circulation.

4. Drill a pilot hole with a 1/8” drill bit into the stud.
5. Use a slotted or Phillips tip screwdriver to insert both the screws.
6. Use the rubber feet provided with the fan base to minimize noise
and head movement.
