Damage to the gasket sealing surface, such as nicks
or cuts, will cause steam leakage.
Door Handle
1. Openthedoor.
2. Removescrewsfrom thetop andbottom ofthe
door.
3. Pulltheouter doorpanel outfrom the door
housing.
4. Removetheplate, nuts,washers andspacers
fromthe handle screwsand removethedoor
handlefromthe door.
5. Reverseprocedureto install.When installingthe
spacers, the smaller diameter fits into the slot in
the door and the latch. Use Loctite 271 to secure
fasteners.

of the way so that burner can be pulled out of

8. Disconnectwires fromthe 195°Fthermostat
mountedtothe generatorandoperating pressure
switch.
9. Loosenhoseclamp attachinglower flexible
water line at back panel and use a wrench to
disconnectbarb fittingfrom maininlet water
connection.
10. Loosenhose clampattaching upperflexible
water line at back panel and use a wrench to
disconnectbarb fittingfrom maininlet water
connection.
11. Removewaterlinefromgenerator.Remove
steam hoses from steam trap and supply to
superheater.
12. Disconnectgas tubingfrom rearpanel
13. Removesteel draintube attank.
14. Disconnect unionbetween tankand drain.
15. Loosen cable clamp screws securing electrical
cable at rear panel so that cable is free to move.
16. Removescrews tofree super heaterand lift
superheateroff fluepipe.

16. Rotate pressure reliefvalvecoupling toallow
pressurerelief valve tobe rotatedabout90° so
thatvalveis belowgeneratortop level.
17. Removepressureswitchfrom generator.
18. Removebolts attachingfrontof generatorto
frame.
19. Moveany interferingcomponentsout of theway,
thenpush generator slightlyforward todisengage
feetandremove generator fromrearof cabinet.
20. Reverse procedure toinstallgenerator.
FILL AND COLD WATER
SOLENOID VALVES

beingservicedandremovethesolenoidvalve
fromthe unit.

PILOT/SPARK PROBE

1. Removemainburnerassemblyasoutlinedunder
MAINBURNERinREMOVALANDREPLACEMENT
OFPARTS.
2. Removethepilot assemblyby disconnecting
gastube tothe pilotburner andremove screws
holding pilot assembly.
3. Replacethemalfunctioning flamesensor or pilot
assembly.
4. Reverseprocedureto install anew flamesensor
or pilot assembly.
5. Checkforproperoperation.

WARNING: CERTAIN PROCEDURES IN THIS SECTION REQUIRE ELECTRICAL TEST OR MEASURE-
MENTS WHILE POWER IS APPLIED TO THE MACHINE. EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AT ALL TIMES.
IF TEST POINTS ARE NOT EASILY ACCESSIBLE, DISCONNECT POWER AND FOLLOW LOCKOUT/
TAGOUT PROCEDURES, ATTACH TEST EQUIPMENT AND REAPPLY POWER TO TEST.
BLOWER AIR PRESSURE
ADJUSTMENT
Adjust the blower air pressure at the gas combination
manifoldpressuretap.Turn the gasvalveoff.Remove
pipe plug from pressure tap on the outlet side of the
gascombination valveand installa gasmanometer.
The air pressure should be 0.35"W.C. (0.09 kPa) to
0.4"W.C. (1 kPa). If the reading is not correct adjust
blower speed control adjustment screw clockwise to
increaseand counter-clockwiseto decrease.
AIR PRESSURE SWITCH
ADJUSTMENT
Blowerair pressure adjustmentmust beperformed
beforeproceedingwith thisprocedure.
Theair pressureswitch sensesthe pressurelevel
producedby theblower forcombustion. Whenthe
pressure is sufficient, the switch closes and supplies
powerto theignition controlmodule. Thegas ignition
sequence starts to light the gas pilot and then main
burner. Ifgas pilot isnot lighting(valve not energized),
theignition controlmodule maynot bereceiving
power,assuming theminimum waterlevel issatisfied.
Check the air pressure switch operation then adjust if
necessaryas outlinedin theprocedure below.
1. Turnthepowerswitch off.
2. Removethefront panel fromthe cabinetbase.
A. Inspect the air intake to the blower for
debrisbuild upand clogging.
1) If debris is found, clean it away from
the air intake.
B. Turnthe power switchon andverifymain
burnerignition.
1) If burnerignites noadjustment tothe
pressure switch setting is necessary.
2) If burnerdoes notignite, proceed to
step 3.
3. Turnthemaingas valvetooff.
4. Adjust the air pressure switch setting as follows:
A. Turn the adjustment screw fully clockwise
to the highest setting.
B. Slowlyturn theadjustment screwcounter-
clockwiseuntil maingas valve energizes
then add 1/2 turn to the adjustment.

The screw head should not extend out past
thescrew housing.
1) If gasvalveenergizes, proceed to
step 5.
2) If gasvalve does notenergize, check
thefollowing:
a. Removetheleadwires fromthe
switch and verify with a meter that
the switch contacts are closing
withthe blower on.If necessary,
continue to turn the adjustment
screwseveralturns counter-
clockwise to close the switch
contacts.
b. If the switch contacts are not
closing, turn the power switch off,
removethepressure switchfrom
the manifold and check the air
orificefor debrisbuild up and
clogging.If debrisis found,clean
it away from the orifice.
c. Replacethe orifice, pressure
switch and connect the lead wires
to the switch. Turn the power
switch on and adjust the pressure
switch again as outlined in steps
4Aand 4B. Verify the pilot gas
valveisenergizing.
d. Ifthepilot gas valve is not
energizingandpoweris available
to the pressure switch, turn the
powerswitch off.Replace witha
newair pressureswitch and
adjust the switch as outlined from
step 3 thru the end of this
procedure.
5.
Restarttheignitionsequencebyturningthepowerswitch
off,waiting3seconds,thenbackon.
A. Listen or use a meter for gas pilot ignition
toverifyoperation.
1) If gas pilot ignition is successful, listen
formain gas burnerignition toverify
operation.
B. Verifythe pilotand mainburner bothignite
in succession.
1) Restart the ignition sequence by
rapidlyturning thepower switch off
then back on.Arapid switching is
neededto keep thegenerator from
startingautomatic blowdown.
C. Listenformain gasburner ignition to verify
operation.
PILOT BURNER ADJUSTMENT
1. Shutthegas offat combinationgas valve.
2. Removecoverfrommanifoldpressuretap.
3. Installa barbfitting andconnect manometer.
4. Turnon the steamer,let generatorfill.
5. Verify air pressure setting is between 0.35" and
0.4" W.C.
6. Verifyair pressureswitch adjustment.
7. Turn offthe steamer.
8. Removepilotassembly fromburner.
9. Removecap from pilotadjustment screw.
10. Using cabinettip screwdriverturn pilot
adjustment screw all the way in.
11. Back out pilot adjustment screw 1 (one) turn
counter clockwise.
12. Removethe wirefrommainvalve (wire #35).
13. Turnon the steamer,let generatorfill.
14. Turnon combinationgasvalve.
15. Observe pilotflame; adjustpilot flame length
using pilot adjustment screw. Set flame to
approx. 2" long (Pilot flame should be a nice blue
flame; with slight touch of yellow permissible at
tip.)

16. Turn off themachine.
17. Re-install pilot, reconnect wire # 35.
18. Turn onthe machine,let generatorfill
19. Observeproper functioningofgasburner.
Operating Pressure Switch
1. Removethecabinet base frontpanel asoutlined
underCOVERSAND PANELS. Pressure switch
is located behind control box.
2. Turnthepower onand letthe generator come up
topressure.
3. After the ready light comes on, turn one of the
cooking compartment timers on to exhaust
steamfrom the generator.
4. Observegeneratorpressuregaugereadingfor
severalcycles andverify thatthe burneris
cycling off at 3.5 to 4 psi.

Thumb Wheel Adjustment
Thethumb wheeldirectly belowthe microswitch
changesboth thecut-out (off)and thecut-in (on)
pointsof theoperating Pressure Switch.
Turnthe thumbwheel to obtainthe propercut-out (off)
setting.Turning thumbwheel clockwiseincreases the
pressure.The cut-out(off) offsetting shouldbe 3.5to
4 psi.
Inlet Water/Steam Strainer
1. Unscrew the cap from the body.
2. Removethe screen andany foreignparticles
trappedin the opening.
3. Rinsethe screen thoroughlyto remove
accumulateddebris andreplace thescreen in
thevalve body. Ifthe screen cannotbe
thoroughlycleaned, replace it with anew one.
4. Reinstall the cap.

AUTOMATIC IGNITION SYSTEMS
When the main power switch is turned on and the
waterlevel is aboveLLCO, theignition control module
isenergized with24volts betweenterminals fiveand
six. High voltage is sent from terminal nine to the
spark electrode and an output of 24 volts is sent from
terminals two and three to the pilot coil in the combi-
nationvalve, allowinggas toflow tothe pilot. The
sparking will continue for 90 seconds or until the
flamesensor hasconfirmed thatan adequatepilot
flameis present.
Once the pilot flame is confirmed, a 24 volt output
from terminal one will be sent to the gas combination
controlvalve.
TERMINAL
NO. DESCRIPTION
1 Voltage (24 VAC) will be present on MV
terminal #1 with the pilot sensing
electrode sensing an adequate pilot
flame. This output will remain present
as long as the pilot flame remains
adequate.
2 Common MV/PV.
3 The Pilot Voltage (24 VAC) will be
present on terminal #3 at the instant
an input voltage is supplied to the
module. This voltage will remain
present on terminal #3 providing an
adequate pilot flame is established
within 90 seconds. In the event that an
adequate pilot flame is not established
within 90 seconds this output voltage
will drop out.
4 Ground (burner).
5 Ground (24 VAC Neutral).
6 24 VAC Input.
8 Flame Sensor.

Spark Ignition Control Test
Theignition controlmodule and ignitioncontrol
moduletransformer arelocated inthe electronics
enclosurebehindthe generatorbasefrontcover.
1. Checkforearthground.
2. Check to ensure that all electrical terminal
connectionson theignition controlmodule and
the igniter are clean and tight.
3. Verify that the ignition control module and the
igniterhavegood ground wireconnections.The
ignitermounting bracket shouldhave goodmetal
to metal contact to its mounting surface.
4. Turnthe mainpower switchon. Makesure LLCO
light is on.
5. Check for 24VAC output on the ignition control
moduletransformer.

A. If24VAC ispresent, thenreplace ignition
control module and retest. It may take up to
3 seconds for the module to reset if main
poweris turned off then backon.
B. If 24VAC is not present, then ensure that
transformerisreceiving 120VAC input.If
ignitioncontrol moduletransformer is
receivingpropervoltage,thenreplace
ignitioncontrolmodule transformerand
retest.
IGNITION TEST
1. Thegapbetween thespark probeand the pilot
burnershould beapproximately 1/8".If thegap
appears to be excessive or poor sparking is
occurring,remove theelectronic ignition pilotand
adjustgap.
2. Inspecttheceramic flamerod insulatorfor
cracksor evidenceof exposure to extreme heat,
whichcan permitleakage toground. Ifeither of
these conditions exist, then replace the pilot
igniterassembly.
3. Check the ignition cable for tightness or
damagedinsulation.
4. Checkunit forproper operation.
Inspectthe pilotburner orifice.This shouldbe approxi-
mately1/8" in diameterand free ofdebris.

1/8" NPT plug (pressure tap) on the outlet side of
thegas combinationcontrol valveand attach a
manometer.
4. Turnthegas supply valveand the mainpower
switch on.Allow generator to fill.

5. Verify burner air pressure is 0.35" to 0.4" W.C.
6. Turnthegascombination controlvalveon and
wait until main burner lights.
7. Observethemanometerpressurereading and
compareto thepressure chartbelow.

8. Once the correct pressure has been set, turn the
powerswitch and gassupply off,replace the
adjustment screw cap and 1/8" NPT plug
(pressuretap) onthe outletside ofthe valve.
COOKING COMPARTMENT
Controls
1. For access to compartment controls, remove the
rightside panelfrom thecooking compartment
asoutlined underCOVERSAND PANELS.
2. Checkdoorswitch for properoperation.
3. Check cooking timer function and contact
position.SeeSCHEMATICSunder ELECTRICAL
OPERATION.
4. Checkthattimer motoroperates when
connectedto power.If aproblem isfound in
timer, replace it, do not take timer apart.

5. Checkwiring for damagedinsulation (noshort
circuit).
6. Check that all connections and terminals are
securelyfastened (noopen circuits).
7. Check that all connections are made according
tocompartment controlwiring diagram.
DOOR
Latch Adjustment
If the cabinet door jams and cannot be opened, do not
force or pry the door, as damage will occur.
First, try lifting up on the bottom of the door at the
handle end to disengage the latch. If that does not
work,remove theright sidepanel fromthe cooking
compartmentas outlinedunder COVERSAND
PANELS.
The striker that catches on the door latch is located
behindthe frontfaceof thecooking cavity. Remove
the nut from the striker to release it from the panel.
Oncethenut and washerhavebeen removed,door
willopen freely.
Remove any burrs on the striker that may cause the
latch to stick. Reinstall the striker and adjust so door
will not jam.

Striker Adjustment
1. Reinstall the striker with the slot pointing
upwardsand handtighten nutonly.
2. Close the door to center the striker in the oval
mountinghole.
3. Open the door and check the striker’s slot for
horizontal alignment. The slot on the striker must
be kept horizontal in order for the door latch to
catch it properly and latch.
4. Once the proper slot alignment has been set,
hold the striker close to its base using an open
end wrench, add Loctite to the threads, then
tighten the striker nut. Be careful not to damage
the striker slot when tightening or door may not
latch properly. Do not over tighten as the striker
willbegin toturn andchange alignment.
5. If door does not open easily, add shims as
necessarybetween strikerand cabinetfront.
6. Repeat steps 2 thru 4.

NOTE: This procedure is not intended to take the
placeof awater treatment program.
1. Turn power switch off. Wait 5 minutes for steam
generatortocompletely drainandthe drainvalve
to close.
2. Turncookingtimers tooff.
3. Preparedelimingsolution accordingto the
instructionson the delimingmaterial package.
Followall manufacturers’instructions.
4. Removedelimeport capon topof unit and insert
funnelinto delimeport.
5. Pourdelimingsolution intothe steamgenerator
slowlyto avoidspillage.
6. Removefunnelfromdelime portthenrinse port
withclean water.
7. Lightlycoatdelime port threadswith Petrol-Gel
then install delime port cap. Cap must be
installed and tightened securely at all times.
8. Turn power switch on. When ready light comes
on, allow steamer to remain on for 40 minutes.
9. After 20 minutes, turn cooking timers on for 1
minute to delime the steam tubes and nozzles.
