Rear Receiver Installation
As you read these instructions, you will see NOTES, CAUTIONS, and WARNINGS. Each message has a
specific purpose. NOTES are additional information to help you complete a procedure. CAUTIONS are
safety messages that indicate a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or
moderate injury. A CAUTION may also be used to alert against unsafe practice or possible equipment
damage. WARNINGS are safety messages that indicate a potentially hazardous situation, which, if not
avoided could result in serious injury. CAUTIONS and WARNINGS identify the hazard, indicate how to avoid
the hazard, and advise of the probable consequence of not avoiding the hazard. PLEASE WORK SAFELY!
Before You Begin
This kit is compatible with WARN’s line of ATV winches. Winch sold separately. Please read WARN’s
Winching Technique guide provided with the winch prior to use of this product.

IV. Rear Receiver Installation
1. Begin by raising the dump box and locking into
position as shown in figure 1.
2. Place the rear receiver (A3) into position on the
Mule as shown in figure 2.
3. Attach the rear receiver tube assembly to the
cross tube on the Mule using two 5/16-18 u-bolts
(B2), 5/16 flat washers (B4), and 5/16-18 locking
hex nuts (B3) as shown in figure 3. Tighten the
bolts to a recommended torque of 10-12 ft-lb
(16 N-m).
4. Attach the rear receiver tube assembly to the two
side frame rales using the rear receiver brackets
(A4). The two brackets will attach to the tube
assembly using two 5/16-18 x 1 hex bolts (B5),
flat washers (B4), and locking hex nuts (B) shown
in figure 4. Tighten the bolts to a recommended
torque of 10-12 ft-lb (16 N-m).
5. Using the two side brackets (A4) as clamps.
Clamp them to the side frame rails using two
5/16-18 x 2 1/2 hex bolts (B1), 5/16 flat washers
(B4), and 5/16-18 locking hex nuts (B3) as shown
in figure 4. NOTE: If this unit is being installed on
a Desiel Mule only one of the 5/16-18 x 2 1/2 hex
bolt will be used in the bottom hole of each side
bracket.Tighten the bolts to a recommended
torque of 10-12 ft-lb (16 N-m).
Rear receiver mounting is now complete move to
section VI, entitled “Maintenance/Care”.

VI. Maintenance/Care
•Inspect all metal parts on the winch, winch mount,
and related hardware. Replace all that appears
rusted or deformed prior to use.
•Inspect all nuts and bolts on the winch, winch mount,
and related hardware prior to each use. Tighten all
nuts and bolts that appear to be loose. Stripped,
fractured, or bent bolts or nuts need to be replaced

Failure to perform regular inspections and
maintenance on the winch, winch mount, and
related hardware may result in vehicle
damage and operator injury or death.
Rear receiver mounting is now complete move to
section VI, entitled “Maintenance/Care”.
V. Electrical connections
•Install the electrical according to the manual that is
with the carrier and with the winch.
•Route the two power cables for the front and rear
along the frame making sure to avoid any sharp
edges or moving parts. Make sure to avoid any
surfaces that may become hot when the vehicle is
operating.
