Welcome
Congratulations on your purchase
Wartmann® hopes that you will enjoy your new Wart-
mann® nut oil press. With the Wartmann® nut oil press
you can easily press your own oil from nuts and seeds.
Without additives. Have your own fresh oil ready on the
table or in the kitchen within 5 minutes; use it in all of your
dishes. A perfect solution because you can make the pre-
cise amount of fresh oil that you require. Leaving nothing to
waste.
Make your own oil
The Wartmann® nut oil press is suitable for seeds, such as
sunower seeds, rapeseeds, sesame seeds, linseeds and
nuts, such as peanuts and walnuts. You can also press your
own combination of seeds and nuts.
The Wartmann® nut oil press is very easy to use. All you
need to do is put the desired nuts and seeds in the funnel
of the Wartmann® nut oil press and select one of the
predened programmes; a few minutes later the rst oil will
already drip in the oil reservoir.
Press Cake
The Wartmann® nut oil press is developed to produce oil,
but it also produces a press cake that is high in protein and
which can be used for the preparation of dishes. The press
cake is perfect for a high-protein or reduced-oil diet. It is a
great addition to a salad.
Important
This manual contains information about the use of the
Wartmann® nut oil press. Read this manual carefully be-
fore you start using the Wartmann® nut oil press and keep
this manual for future reference.
Only suitable for domestic use.
The Wartmann® nut oil press is exclusively intended for
normal household use. In case of (semi-)professional or
improper use, which is not in accordance with the instruc-
tions in this user manual and in the event of self-performed
repair, the warranty will expire and Wartmann will reject
responsibility for any resulting damage.
Not suitable for children
The Wartmann® nut oil press may not be operated by
persons under the age of 16 years old or by persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities. Make sure
that children cannot accidentally play with the Wartmann®
nut oil press, we recommend to safely store the Wart-
mann® nut oil press after each use.
Check electrical connections
Check if the voltage indicated on the Wartmann® nut oil
press corresponds with the local mains voltage before con-
necting the Wartmann® nut oil press. Connect the Wart-
mann® nut oil press only to earthed sockets. In case the

7
English
plug, power cord or the Wartmann® nut oil press itself is
damaged, rst have it repaired or replaced by a certied
service centre.
Contains moving parts
The Wartmann® nut oil press contains moving parts. Make
sure that you never come into contact with the moving
parts. The Wartmann® nut oil press will stop when you
open the lid. Do not use the Wartmann® nut oil press if the
protective cover at the front has been removed.
Contains heating elements
Ensure sufcient ventilation and never cover the air ven-
tilation holes of the Wartmann® nut oil press when it is
being used. The heating element is situated inside the
Wartmann® nut oil press at the front of the press, behind
the protective cover. Allow the device to cool down before
cleaning it.
Avoid contact with water
The Wartmann® nut oil press contains electrical parts and
heating elements. Make sure that water can never end
up inside the Wartmann® nut oil press to prevent electric
shock and/or damage to the Wartmann® nut oil press. Do
not operate the Wartmann® nut oil press while your hands
are wet.
Be careful: Entrapment hazard
Never put your ngers inside the funnel, not even when the
lid is open. Use a small spatula or tool to remove items that
are stuck inside the funnel. First remove the power plug
from the socket for maximum safety.
Precautions
Always place the Wartmann® nut oil press on a stable, at
and levelled surface before usage. Make sure it cannot tip
over and that the appliance is not tilted, as it may cause
leaking of the oil through the frontal waste output. If the lid
is damaged or if the Wartmann® oil press does not stop
automatically when you remove the lid, you should stop
using the Wartmann® nut oil press. Bring the Wartmann®
nut oil press to your dealer for repair. Always unplug the
Wartmann® nut oil press before cleaning it.

8
Food preparation
Use raw materials
Always work with pure, raw, materials. Nuts or seeds that
have been roasted can’t be used to press oil from. Most
peanuts being sold are already roasted. Peanuts can be
roasted in their shell. Having a shell does not mean that the
peanuts are not roasted. Raw peanuts have a distinctive
different taste than roasted ones. In case of any doubt, ask
your supplier for advice.
Packed coconut bits that are factory treated (defatted) can
no longer be used to press coconut oil from. Examine the
oil content displayed on the packaging, if it is below 70%,
the coconut shreds are not suitable for pressing.
Peeling
You must always remove the shells from nuts before putting
them in the Wartmann® nut oil press. In general, seeds
require no shelling.
Break into smaller pieces
The Wartmann® nut oil press can process nuts up to the
size of peanuts. Larger nuts, such as walnuts, should be
broken down into smaller pieces. You may use a multifunc-
tional cutter to quickly cut nuts into smaller pieces.
Remove Sand and Stones
Remove sand and any small stones or other materials that
would contaminate your raw materials. Small stones, metal
parts and sand may irreversibly damage the Wartmann®
nut oil press.
Moist Content
The moist content of your raw materials is very important
for a successful press result. For example: fresh wall nuts
should be (air) dried before pressing them. As a rule of
thumb the moist content should be approximately 10%. If
the moist content is much lower than 10%, then the press
cake may be too dry and hard. The press cake will block
the press and it may stop. If the moist content is much high-
er than 10%, then the press cake could turn into a moist
pulp and no oil will be produced.
A simple method to determine the water content is to take a
sample of the raw materials and weigh it. Dry the sample
at 105c for 12 hours in a (ventilated) oven or dehydrator,
then weigh it again. The water content is calculated as the
weight loss divided by the initial weight x 100%.
Water % = (weight loss / initial weight) x 100%
If your raw materials are to dry, then you may try to store it
in a damp environment (such as a sealed box with a small
compartment of water) for 24 hours. When in doubt, you
should consult your raw materials supplier about the best
moisture content for pressing.

Oil yields
Extraction Efciency
Under optimal conditions the Wartmann® nut oil press will
extract up to 80% of the oil that is available in the raw
material. Raw materials that have an oil percentage that is
lower than 10% can’t be used.
Oil percentages in nuts
The result of the pressing is largely determined by the qual-
ity of the nuts and seeds. The oil percentage in nuts and
seeds strongly varies per type. A rough indication of the oil
percentage per type can be found in the table below:
Oil percentage in seeds
Rapeseed and some types of sunowers are grown espe-
cially for industrial oil production, for instance bio fuel.
Therefore the oil percentage may vary, depending on the
purpose for which they are grown. The oil percentage
in sunower seeds varies from 30% to 50%, the oil per-
centage in rapeseed from 40 to 50%. Linseed has an oil
percentage of about 40%.
Nut type Oil content
Almonds 54%
Cashewnuts 46%
Hazelnuts 62%
Chestnuts 2%
Macamadias 72%
Para Nuts 67%
Pecan Nuts 67%
Peanuts 47%
Pistachio nuts 54%
Walnuts 64%

10
Food safety
Hygiene
Properly clean the Wartmann® nut oil press when you are
nished pressing. Avoid cross-contamination of products,
specically when you are pressing oils for consumption
after pressing oils that are mend for personal usage. Such
as Argan oil or skin care oils.
Allergies
Always take into consideration that certain persons are
allergic to nuts. Allergies are caused by protein and there-
fore these persons will also be allergic for the press cake.
Cold pressed oil will also contain some protein, therefore
one may not assume that these persons would not be aller-
gic to cold press oil. Always consult your allergist.
Toxic
Bitter almonds contain highly poisonous cyanide; avoid
using those and use the sweet almonds instead. Always
check whether the product that you want to press is suitable
for the intended goal.

ble horizontal surface, in a place where the Wartmann®
nut oil press can’t fall or be knocked over. Ensure sufcient
ventilation around the Wartmann® nut oil press.
Check the Wartmann® nut oil press
Remove the protective cover by pulling it carefully off. Then
turn the black nut loose, anti-clockwise, and remove it,
using the included wrench if necessary. Pull the shaft and
screw from the Wartmann® nut oil press and check both
parts for possible damage or remaining protective grease.
Clean if necessary.
Place the shaft and press screw back into the Wartmann®
nut oil press. Turn the black nut until the shaft and press
screw are rmly locked. Place the protective cover back.
Connect the power cable
The Wartmann™ nut oil press comes with a detachable
power cord. Plug the connector of the power cord in the

16
Start the oil extraction
After setting the desired programme, press the Start/Stop
button. The pre-heating indicator will light up to indicate
that the Wartmann® nut oil press is warming up. This may
take several minutes.
As soon as the Wartmann® nut oil press is sufciently
warm, the oil extraction indicator will light up and the oil
extraction will start. After a few minutes you can see the
press cake falling into the reservoir. Shortly after the rst
drops of oil should drip into the oil reservoir.
Temporarily pausing the oil extraction
You can stop the oil extraction at any time by pressing the
Start/Stop button. The pause indicator will light up. If you
open the lid during an oil extraction, the oil extraction will
also stop. Once the oil extraction has stopped, it needs to
be restarted manually. The oil extraction cannot be restart-
ed by simply closing the lid.
Restart the oil extraction
Press the Start/Stop button to continue an oil extraction
that has been stopped. The oil extraction indicator will
light up. If the Wartmann® nut oil press cooled off too
much during the pause, rst the heating indicator will
light up until the required pressing temperature has been
reached.
Remove a blockage
Sometimes a piece of nut or seeds may get stuck at the
bottom of the funnel. Press the Start/Stop button and then
hold the reverse button for 5 seconds. The press screw will
turn in reverse, pushing the nuts or seeds up backwards.
Once unblocked, press the Start/stop button again.
You may try this three times. After that the Wartmann® nut
oil press locks itself. If that happens you have to power the
Wartmann® nut oil press off and on again. Never try to
remove a blockage with your ngers while the power cord
is still plugged in the power socket.
Adding more nuts or seeds
You can temporarily pause the oil extraction to add some
more nuts or seeds. Simply press Start/Stop just before the
nuts or seeds are nished. Remove the lid, add more nuts
or seeds, and press Start/Stop again. The oil extraction
will automatically continue.
Stop the oil extraction
The oil extraction will stop when there are no more nuts
or seeds inside the funnel. The press will run for ve more
minutes, and will then automatically stop. The oil ex-
traction indicator is no longer lit.
Take the oil out of the press
Wait until the oil extraction is nished or temporarily
pause the oil extraction process. Remove the oil reser-
voir from the Wartmann® nut oil press once the oil has
stopped dripping. There may still be some oil on the oil
lter. Let the oil drip through the oil lter before removing

17
English
the oil lter and oil guide. For storage pour the oil into a
sealable bottle or container.
If you have temporarily stopped the oil extraction, remem-
ber to place the emptied oil reservoir together with the oil
lter and oil guide inside the Wartmann® nut oil press
before you restart the oil extraction.
Some remaining drops of oil may fall onto the drip col-
lection tray after you have taken the oil reservoir from the
Wartmann® nut oil press. This is normal. Under the oil res-
ervoir is a drip collection tray that can easily be removed
and cleaned at a later time.
Further treatment of your oil
Directly after the pressing small particles may be oating
in your oil. As such, the oil may look milky. When leaving
the oil standing for a few hours up to a day, these particles
will sink to the bottom and form a sediment. You can now
carefully pour the clear oil in another container, making
sure that the sediment remains on the bottom.
You must always keep the oil in a closed bottle or contain-
er to prevent oxidation of your oil due to air exposure.
Doing another oil extraction
If you want to press different type of nuts or seeds shortly
after each other, you are advised to clean the Wartmann®
nut oil press between the different oil extractions. If you
fail to do so, the pressed oil may get contaminated with oil
residue of previous extractions.
Switching off the Wartmann® nut oil press
Press the Power button to switch off the Wartmann® nut oil
press. When the Wartmann® nut oil press is switched off
none of the indicator lights should be lid.

18
After use
When to clean
Clean the Wartmann® nut oil press after each use. After
you have manually switched off the Wartmann® nut oil
press, the press screw and shaft may be still be hot. In that
case allow the Wartmann® nut oil press to sufcient cool
down before you start cleaning it.
Remove the power plug from the wall socket before you
clean the Wartmann® nut oil press housing.
Clean the press screw and shaft
First remove the protective cover by pulling it off. Subse-
quently, turn the black nut loose (anti-clockwise) and pull
the shaft and press screw carefully out. Use the included
wrench if necessary. Pull the press screw out of the shaft.
Careful: it may be hot!
Clean the press screw and the shaft. Use the brush to
clean the inside of the shaft. Pay special attention that
the two tubular slits in the shaft are open. If these slits are
blocked the oil can’t ow. Visually check the inside of the
oil press opening. Clean if necessary.
If necessary you can use some soap to remove oil resi-
dues. Dry both elements and make sure that no water is
left behind. Water traces may cause corrosion.
Clean the reservoirs, the lter, the oil guide, the drip collec-
tion tray and the protective cover
Take the drip collection tray out of the Wartmann® nut
oil press if it needs cleaning. You can clean the press
cake container, the oil container, oil guide, oil lter, drip
collection tray and protective cover with water and some
soap. Dry them before use. Do not use a rough sponge or
an abrasive as this may leave scratches.
Clean the outside of the Wartmann® nut oil press and the
lid
If necessary, you can clean the outside of the Wartmann®
nut oil press and the lid using a damp microber cloth.
Place the press screw and shaft
Place the press crew inside the shaft and shift both back
into the Wartmann® nut oil press. Turn the black nut until
the shaft and press screw are rmly locked. Place the
protective cover back.
Store the containers
Place the drip collection tray back in the Wartmann® nut
oil press. The oil container with oil guide and oil lter can
be stored inside the side-opening of the Wartmann® nut
oil press. The wrench, brush and press cake container can
be stored together with the Wartmann® nut oil press.
Storage
After you have cleaned the Wartmann® nut oil press and
let it fully dry, you can store it in a safe place.
