Refer to enclosed warranty for operating parameters to ensure proper use with your water supply.
System Tested and certied by WQA against NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and
53 for the reduction of the claims specied on the performance Data sheet.
Hollow Fiber Technology

Thank you for your purchase of a state of the art Watts Premier Water Treatment system.
Your new Filter-Pure UF3 system is equipped with a unique swivel valve in head push button
assembly. This allows for a simple and sanitary push button lter change that does not require
you to turn off the water source to the ltration system.
This three stage system is equipped with a sediment prelter, a high quality carbon block lter
and the Ultra Filtration membrane.
The sediment lter reduces sand, silt, sediment and rust particles that may be in your water.
The second stage is a heavy duty lead and chemical reducing carbon lter block. This specially
formulated block is capable of reducing lead as well as harmful Volatile Organic Chemicals (See
performance data sheet for complete list of VOC’s). It is estimated that VOC’s are present in
one-fth of the nation’s water supplies. These water contaminants can enter ground water from
a variety of sources including localized use of herbicides and pesticides, gasoline or oil spills,
leaking underground fuel tanks, septic system cleaners, and chemicals used in the dry-cleaning
industry. The third stage is our state of the art UF Hollow Fiber Technology membrane.
Ultra ltration is a membrane ltration process which uses standard home water pressure to push
water through its semi permeable membrane. Suspended particles and materials of high molecular
weight are unable to pass through the 0.02 micron UF membrane, allowing only fresh clean water
and dissolved minerals to pass through. Historically this separation process has been used in
large municipal water treatment plants and hospitals; however through advances in technology it
is now available to you as a powerful under sink water ltration plant in your home.
Ultra ltration is capable of running at low water pressures, does not require a separate water
holding tank, does not alter the pH of your water and does not require electricity. Due to this the
Filter Pure UF 3 provides a continuous supply of premium quality drinking water directly to your
tap.
System Maintenance
Just because you can not taste it, does not mean that it is not there. Many contaminants in the
drinking water are undetectable to the taste. Additionally, over time if you do not replace the
lter elements, other bad tastes and odors will be apparent in your drinking water. This is why
it is important to change your lters at the recommended intervals as indicated in this system
manual.

Make sure the surroundings of the sink are cooled before mounting the
faucet to the sink after drilling and remove all sharp edges.

Determine desired location for the faucet on your sink and place a
piece of masking tape over where the hole is to be drilled. Mark the
center of the hole on the tape.

Using a variable speed drill set on the slowest speed, drill a

/ 8 “ pilot
hole through both porcelain and metal casing of sink at the marked
center of the desired location. Use lubricating oil or liquid soap to keep
the drill bit cool (If drill bit gets hot it may cause the porcelain to crack
or chip).
Using a 1/2” Drill Bit, proceed to drill the larger hole. Keep drill speed
on the slowest speed and use lubricating oil or liquid soap to keep the
hole saw cool during cutting.

Drill a Hole for the Faucet in a Porcelain Sink
Punch a Hole for the Faucet in a Stainless Steel Sink
Drill a ¼” pilot hole. Use a
1
/ 2 ” Hole Punch and an adjustable wrench
to punch the hole in the sink.
Step 5
The faucet can now be installed.
If mounting faucet to a Stainless Steel Sink you will need a 1/2”
Hole Punch. The faucet opening should be centered between the
back splash and the edge of the sink, ideally on the same side as
the vertical drain pipe.
Note:
Note: Most sinks are pre drilled with 1 ½” or 1 ¼” diameter hole that you can use for your
faucet. (If you are already using it for a sprayer or soap dispenser, see step 1)
Porcelain sinks are extremely hard and can crack or chip easily.
Use extreme caution when drilling. Watts Premier accepts no responsibility for
damage resulting from the installation of faucet.
Diamond tip drill bit is recommended for drilling in porcelain.

Adapt-a-Valve Installation - Part# 134007
Turn off the cold water supply to the faucet by turning the angle stop valve completely off.
Drain any water in the line by opening the faucet cold side handle.

Step 10 Attach the adapt-a-valve as illustrated in the three photos above, choosing the conguration
that ts your plumbing. (When attaching the adapt-a-valve to straight pipe threads, use
Teon tape on the threads without the rubber washer.)

Caution: Water supply line to the system must be from the cold water supply line only.
Hot water will severely damage your system.
Insert the faucet shank through the hole in sink and let it rest on the sink top.
Place the escutcheon chrome plate and the black rubber washer on the faucet shank.
(Parts found in faucet parts bag).
From the underside of the sink slide on the locating washer, lock washer and brass nut
onto the shank. Check orientation of faucet then tighten brass nut securely.

How To Use the Quick Connect Fittings on the Filter Module
To make a connection, the tube is simply pushed into the tting. The unique patented John Guest®
locking system holds the tube rmly in place without deforming it or restricting ow.
It is essential that the outside diameter be free of score
marks and that burrs and sharp edges be removed before
inserting into tting.
Fitting grips before it seals. Ensure tube is pushed into
the tube stop.
Push the tube into the tting, to the tube stop. The collet
(gripper) has stainless steel teeth which hold the tube
rmly in position while the O-ring provides a permanent
leak proof seal.
Pull on the tube to check that it is secure. It is a good practice
to test the system prior to leaving site and /or before use.
To disconnect, ensure the system is depressurized before
removing the tube. Push in collect squarely against face
of tting. With the collet held in this position, the tube can
be removed. The tting can then be reused.

Green Tube Connection
Step 11 Locate the green tube in the Filter-Pure box. Remove a brass nut, plastic
sleeve and brass insert from the parts bag. To assemble, place the
brass nut on the green tube rst, then the sleeve (small tapered end of
sleeve must point to the end of tube) and then push the brass insert all
the way into the end of the tube. (See Picture)
Insert the green tube into the ¼” opening on the adapt-a-valve until it
stops. Slide the brass nut and sleeve down and thread onto the male
pipe threads. Use a ½” wrench to securely tighten the nut.
Attach the open end of the green tube into the left side of the system
by pushing it into the quick connect elbow tting (above Red Sediment
lter).

Locate blue tube in the Filter-Pure Box. To assemble, place the brass
nut on the tube rst, then the sleeve (small tapered end of sleeve must
point to the end of tube) and then insert the plastic insert all the way
into the end of the tube. (See Picture)

Step 16 Attach the open end of the blue tube into the right side of the system
by pushing it into the quick connect elbow tting (above Purple UF
Membrane lter).
Insert the assembled blue tube into the end of the faucet shank until
it stops. Slide brass nut and plastic sleeve down until you can thread
nut onto the faucet shank. Use a wrench to securely tighten the brass
nut.
Turn on water supply at angle stop and open the Adapt-a-Valve. Turn faucet handle to the
open position to start the ow of water through the unit. Run 3 gallons of water through
the unit in order to ush out the normal black carbon nes (it will “sputter” until the air is
purged out) from the unit. Initially, the water may appear cloudy which is due to tiny air
bubbles and it will clear up shortly. Close the faucet when nished.
Congratulations!
You have completed the installation of new your Filter-Pure system.

(Check frequently over the next 24 hours to ensure no leaks are present)

Mounting System Under Sink
Check for leaks. If you have any leaks, shut off the water supply to your system, tighten
any ttings / housings and restart unit.
System Start Up
Locate an area best tted for mounting the system. Allow approximately 2” (5cm) clearance
between the bottom of the lter housing and the oor of the sink cabinet.
Using the mounting holes on the bracket, mark the location for the mounting screws on
the cabinet wall under the sink.
Screw the (2) self tapping screws into the wall at the marked location.
Hang the module on the screws using the mounting holes in the bracket.

Place a towel under the lter module to catch any excess water that
may drip out from the lters during the changeover.
Step 1
Your system is equipped with valved heads which will automatically turn off the
water supply to each lter when the lter is released, thus you do not need to turn
off the incoming water supply at the Adapt-a-Valve. The faucet must be off when
lters are replaced. To make the removal of the lter cartridges easier, the heads
& cartridges may be swiveled up to 90 degrees as shown in the pictures below.

To install a lter cartridge: Remove the seal cap and insert
the cartridge into the valved head until you hear an audible “click”
(the button does not need to be pressed to install new lters).
Step 3
To remove a lter cartridge: Push & hold the button on the
valved head above the lter. Pull cartridge downward (from the
head) to remove. Release button and discard old lter.

Note: If the new lter cartridge won’t snap in easily or pops off it may be
due to high incoming water pressure. Relieve pressure to the system by
turning off the water supply using the adapt-a-valve and then install the
cartridge. Once the cartridge is seated, turn the water supply back on to
your unit.

Water Pressure Gauge
This gauge mounts onto your outside hose connection to accurately show your
home’s water pressure up to 300 psi. A red needle shows peak overnight
pressure, which may exceed readings during the day. High pressure readings
may indicate the need for a pressure regulator to prevent damage to appliances.

Limited Warranty
What your Warranty Covers:
If any part of your WATTS PREMIER FILTER PURE UF3 unit is defective in workmanship (excluding replaceable lters ),
return unit after obtaining a return authorization (see below), within 3 years of original retail purchase, WATTS PREMIER
will repair or, at WATTS PREMIER’S option, replace the system at no charge.
How to obtain Warranty Service:
For warranty service, call 1-800-752-5582 for a return authorization number. Then, ship your unit to our factory, freight and
insurance prepaid, with proof of date of original purchase. Please include a note stating the problem. Premier will repair it,
or replace it, and ship it back to you prepaid.
What this warranty does not cover:
This warranty does not cover defects resulting from improper installation, (contrary to WATTS PREMIER’S printed
instructions), from abuse, misuse, misapplication, improper maintenance, neglect, alteration, accidents, casualties, re,
ood, freezing, environmental factors, water pressure spikes or other such acts of God.
This warranty will be void if defects occur due to failure to observe the following conditions:
1. The Filter-Pure UF3 System must be hooked up to a potable municipal or well cold water supply.
2. The pH of the water must not be lower than 5 or higher than 10.
3. The incoming water pressure must be between 20 and 85 pounds per square inch.
4. Incoming water to the Counter Top cannot exceed 100 degrees F (38 degrees C.)
This warranty does not cover any equipment that is relocated from the site of its original installation.
This warranty doe not cover any charges incurred due to professional installation.
This warranty does not cover any equipment that is installed or used outside the United States of America and Canada.
LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS:
WATTS PREMIER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THOSE OF MERCHANTABILITY
AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WATTS PREMIER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING TRAVEL EXPENSE, TELEPHONE CHARGES, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF TIME,
INCONVENIENCE, LOSS OF USE OF THE EQUIPMENT, AND DAMAGE CAUSED BY THIS EQUIPMENT AND ITS FAILURE TO
FUNCTION PROPERLY. THIS WARRANTY SETS FORTH ALL OF PREMIER’S RESPONSIBILITIES REGARDING THIS EQUIPMENT.
OTHER CONDITIONS:
If WATTS PREMIER chooses to replace the equipment, WATTS PREMIER may replace it with reconditioned equipment. Parts used in
repairing or replacing the equipment will be warranted for 90 days from the date the equipment is returned to you or for the remainder of
the original warranty period, whichever is longer. This warranty is not assignable or transferable.
YOUR RIGHTS UNDER STATE LAW:
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, and some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply. This warranty gives you specic legal rights,
and you may have other legal rights which vary from state to state.
