Thank you for your purchase of a
state of the art Watts Pure Water
Treatment system.
PWDWLCV2 Water Treatment System:
Watts Pure Water PWDWLCV2 water treatment system contains a
heavy duty lead, cyst and VOC filter block. This specialty formulated
block is capable of reducing lead, cryptosporidium, Giardia, Ent-
amoeba as well as harmful Volatile Organic Chemicals. It is estimated
that VOC’s are present in one-fifth of the nation’s water supplies.
These water contaminants can enter ground water from a variety of
sources including localized use of herbicides and pesticides, gasoline
or oil spills, leaking underground fuel tanks, septic system cleaners,
and chemicals used in the dry-cleaning industry.
System Maintenance
Just because you can not taste it, does not mean that it is not there.
Many contaminants in the drinking water are undetectable to the
taste. Additionally, over time if you do not replace the filter element,
other bad tastes and odors will be apparent in your drinking water.
This is why it is important to change out your filter at the recom-
mended intervals as indicated in this system manual. When replac-
ing any of the filter elements, pay special attention to any cleaning
instructions. Should you have any further questions please refer to

Drill a Hole for the Faucet in a Porcelain Sink
Most sinks are predrilled with 1½" or 1¼" diameter hole that
you can use for your RO faucet. (if you are already using it for a
sprayer or soap dispenser, see Step 2).
Porcelain sinks are extremely hard and can crack or chip easily.
Use extreme caution when drilling. Watts accepts no responsi-
bility for damage resulting from the installation of faucet.
Step A – Determine desired location for
the RO faucet on your sink
and place a piece of masking
tape on over where the hole is
to be drilled. Mark the center
of the hole on the tape.
Step B – Using a variable speed drill
set on the slowest speed, drill
a 1⁄8“ pilot hole through both
porcelain and metal casing
of sink at the marked center
of the desired location. Use
lubricating oil or liquid soap
to keep the drill bit cool (If drill
bit gets hot it may cause the
porcelain to crack or chip).
Step C – Using a 1¼" hole saw, pro-
ceed to drill the large hole.
Keep drill speed on the slow-
est speed and use lubricating
oil or liquid soap to keep the
hole saw cool during cutting.
Step D – Make sure the surroundings
of the sink are cooled before
mounting the faucet to the
sink after drilling and remove
all sharp edges.
STEP 1
Punch a Hole for the Faucet in a Stainless
Steel Sink
If mounting faucet to a Stainless Steel
Sink you will need a 1¼" Hole Punch.
The faucet opening should be centered
between the back splash and the edge
of the sink, ideally on the same side as
the vertical drain pipe.
Step A – Drill a ¼" pilot hole. Use a 1⁄2"
Hole Punch and an adjustable
wrench to punch the hole in the
sink. Change to the 1¼" Hole
Punch to enlarge the hole
The faucet can now be installed.

STEP 2
Step a – Under the sink - on to the threaded faucet stem in order
first slide on the plastic spacer (Item 7), the washer (Item
8), the slotted washer (Item 9), and lastly secure with nut
(Item 10).
Step D – Locate the blue 1/4” tube in the faucet parts bag. Remove
a brass nut (Item 13), plastic sleeve (Item 12) and insert
(Item 11) from the parts bag. To assemble, place the brass
nut on the blue tube first, then the sleeve (small tapered
end of sleeve must point to the end of tube) and then push
the insert all the way into the end of the tube.
Step E – Insert the blue tube into the end of the faucet shank and
use a wrench to tighten the brass nut securely.
DO NOT overtighten nut.

STEP 3
Drinking Water Module Mounting
Step A – Determine best location for
the Drinking Water system to
be mounted to allow for future
system maintenance. The
parts bag has 2 self tapping
screws. Using an electric drill
with a Phillips bit, screw them
into the cabinet wall 6" apart
and 16" from the bottom of the
cabinet.
Do not cut any Drinking Water system tubes at this time
Start Up Instructions
Step A– Turn on the incoming cold water at the angle stop valve.
Turn the knob on the Adapt-A-Valve™ by turning coun-
terclockwise. Check the system for leaks and tighten any
fittings as necessary. (Check frequently over the next 24
hours to ensure no leaks are present).
If you have connected your RO system to a refrigerator / ice
maker, make sure the ice maker is off (do not allow water to flow
to the ice maker) until flushing is complete and the tank has
been allowed to fill completely. Connection from the RO to the
ice maker system should have an in-line valve installed before
the ice maker so it can easily be closed to prevent water flowing
to the ice maker during start up and periodic maintenance. Your
RO tank must be allowed to fill up fully in order for the ice maker
system to work properly.
Step B – Turn faucet handle to the open position to start the flow
of water through the unit. Run 7 gallons of water through
the unit in order to flush out the normal black carbon fines
(it will “sputter” until the air is purged out) from the unit.
Initially, the water may appear cloudy which is due to tiny
air bubbles and it will clear up shortly. Close the faucet.
Step C – Check for leaks. If you have any leaks, shut off the water
supply to your system, repair and restart unit.
Adapt-A-Valve™ Installation
Verify contents prior to installation:
( 1 ) - Plastic Adapt-a-Valve™ & Black Collet
( 1 ) - Brass Adapter no washer
( 1 ) - Brass Adapter with black washer
( 1 ) - White rubber washer
Water supply line to the system must be from the cold water
supply line only. Hot water will severely damage your system.
Do not use Teflon tape with the Adapt-A-Valve™.
For 3⁄8" Configuration
For 1⁄2" Configuration
Step A - Turn off the cold water supply to the faucet by turning the
angle stop valve completely off.
Step B - Open cold water sink faucet to relieve pressure.
Step C - Choosing the configuration that fits your plumbing, at-
tach the Adapt-A-Valve™ as illustrated in the four photos
above.

Filter Change
Order filter by calling Watts at 1-800-224-1299
Watts recommends changing the filter element every 6 months.
Use Watts replacement cartridge only. Other filters may look the
same, but only filters by Watts are manufactured to fit your LCV filter
unit in order to ensure proper reduction of water contaminants.
A. Turn off incoming water supply to the LCV unit by turning the
KNOB on the Adapt-A-Valve™ clockwise. Note: There will be
water in the filter housing. Lift the faucet handle to relieve the
water pressure.
B. Remove filter housing from lid by turning it to the left, as shown in
Figure D.
C. Remove used filter cartridge and discard.
Do not discard filter-housing O-ring.
D. Clean inside of filter housing with warm soapy water and rinse to
remove soap
E. Lubricate O-ring with water-soluble lubricant (i.e. K-Y Jelly®or
Silicone lubricant).
Do not use Petroleum based lubricants such as Vaseline®.
F. Seat O-ring in groove in filter housing and insert new filter car-
tridges into filter housing.
G. Screw filter housing onto lid as shown in Figure D.
H. Turn on water supply to filter unit by turning knob on
Adapt-A-Valve™ counterclockwise

Sistema de tratamiento de agua PWDWLCV2:
El sistema de tratamiento de agua PWDWLCV2 Watts Pure Water
contiene un filtro sólido de carga pesada para compuestos volátiles
orgánicos (VOC), quistes y plomo. Este filtro sólido de formulación
especial es capaz de reducir el contenido de plomo, quistes de
Cryptosporidium, Giardia y Entamoeba, y químicos volátiles orgánicos.
Se calcula que un quinto de las fuentes de agua del país contienen
compuestos volátiles orgánicos. Existen diversas fuentes de introducción
de estos contaminantes en las capas freáticas de agua, que incluyen el
uso puntual de herbicidas y pesticidas, derrames de gasolina o petróleo,
fugas de tanques subterráneos de combustible, agentes de limpieza de
pozos sépticos y químicos empleados en limpieza en seco.
Mantenimiento del sistema
El hecho de que algo resulte imperceptible al paladar no significa
que no exista. Muchos contaminantes del agua potable no son
detectados por su sabor. Además, si con el transcurso del tiempo
no reemplaza el elemento filtrante, aparecerán otros malos sabores

Hacer un orificio para el grifo en el lavabo
de porcelana
La mayoría de los lavabos tienen un orificio previamente
perforado de 1 ¼” o 1¼" que se puede utilizar para el grifo
de OI. (Si este orificio ya está ocupado por un rociador o un
sistema dispensador de jabón, consulte el paso 2).
Los lavabos de porcelana son sumamente duros y pueden
rajarse o descascararse con facilidad.
Sea sumamente cuidadoso al realizar perforaciones. Watts
no asume responsabilidad por los daños ocasionados por la
instalación del grifo.
Paso A – Determine la ubicación
deseada para el grifo de OI en
el lavabo y coloque una tira
de cinta de enmascarar en el
sitio en el que hará el orificio.
Marque el centro del orificio
sobre la cinta.
Paso B – Usando un taladro de
velocidad variable a velocidad
mínima, haga un orificio
guía de 1⁄8“ que atraviese
tanto la porcelana como el
revestimiento metálico del
lavabo en el punto marcado
como centro de la ubicación
deseada. Use aceite lubricante
o jabón líquido para mantener
la broca fría (si la broca se
calienta, la porcelana se puede
rajar o descascarar).
Paso C – Realice el orificio grande con
una sierra de perforación de
1¼". Mantenga el taladro en
velocidad mínima y use aceite
lubricante o jabón líquido
para mantener la sierra de
perforación fría durante el
proceso de corte.
Paso D – Después de perforar, quite
todos los bordes afilados y
espere hasta que el área que
rodea el lavabo se enfríe antes
de colocar el grifo.
PASO 1
Perforar un orificio para el grifo en un lavabo
de acero inoxidable
Si monta un grifo a un lavabo de acero
inoxidable, necesitará un sacabocados
de 1¼". El orificio del grifo deberá
estar centrado entre el salpicadero y
el borde del lavabo, si es posible
sobre el mismo lado del tubo de
drenaje vertical.
Paso A – Haga un orificio guía de ¼".
Utilice un sacabocados de 1⁄2"
y una llave inglesa para realizar
el orificio en el lavabo. Utilice
un sacabocados de 1¼" para
agrandar el orificio.
Ahora puede instalar el grifo.

PASO 2
Paso A – Debajo del lavabo - sobre el vástago roscado en orden:
primero deslice el espaciador blanco (ítem 7), la arandela
de la tuerca hexagonal (ítem 8), la arandela ranurada (ítem
9) y, por último, asegure con la tuerca (ítem 10).
Paso B –Ubique dentro de la bolsa de piezas el tubo azul de 1/4".
Extraiga de la bolsa de piezas una tuerca de bronce
(Elemento 13), un manguito plástico (Elemento 12) y
un inserto (Elemento 11). Realice el montaje colocando
sobre el tubo azul en primer lugar la tuerca de bronce, a
continuación, el manguito (su extremo ahusado debe estar
orientado hacia el extremo del tubo) y después introduzca
a presión el inserto hasta el final del tubo.
Paso C –Introduzca el tubo azul en el extremo del eje del grifo y
ajuste bien la tuerca de bronce con una llave inglesa.
NO ajuste demasiado la tuerca.

PASO 3
Montaje del módulo de agua potable
Paso A – Determine la mejor ubicación
para montar el sistema de
agua potable que permita
realizar el mantenimiento
en el futuro. La bolsa de
piezas contiene 2 tornillos
autorroscantes. Con un
taladro eléctrico con broca
Phillips, atorníllelos a la pared
del gabinete a una distancia
de 6" entre ellos y a 16" del
fondo del gabinete.
No corte ningún tubo del sistema de agua potable en este
punto del proceso
Instrucciones de puesta en marcha
Paso A – Abra el suministro entrante de agua fría con la válvula
de paso angular. Gire la perilla de la Adapt-A-Valve™ en
dirección opuesta a las agujas del reloj. Compruebe si hay
pérdidas en el sistema y ajuste los acoplamientos si es
necesario (Haga revisiones frecuentes dentro de las
24 horas siguientes para comprobar que no haya pérdidas).
Si ha conectado el sistema de OI a un refrigerador/una máquina
de hacer hielo, verifique que la máquina de hacer hielo esté
apagada (no permita la circulación de agua hacia ella) hasta
terminar la descarga y que el tanque se haya llenado por
completo. Se debe instalar una válvula en el conducto de
conexión desde el sistema de OI hasta la máquina de hacer hielo
antes de llegar a esta última de manera de poder cerrar la válvula
fácilmente para impedir la circulación de agua hasta la máquina
de hacer hielo durante la puesta en marcha y el mantenimiento
periódico. Debe dejar llenar el tanque de OI por completo para
que el sistema para hacer hielo funcione correctamente.
Paso B –Gire la manija del grifo hasta la posición abierta para que
el agua comience a circular por la unidad. Deje correr 7
galones de agua por la unidad para enjuagar las partículas
finas de carbón de color negro habituales (el equipo
“escupirá” hasta que se termine de purgar el aire). Es
posible que al principio el agua tenga un aspecto turbio
debido a la presencia de diminutas burbujas de aire, pero
se aclarará a la brevedad. Cierre el grifo.
Paso C –Verifique que no haya pérdidas. Si hay alguna pérdida,
cierre el suministro de agua hacia el sistema y repare y
reinicie la unidad.
Instalación de Adapt-A-Valve™
Revise el contenido antes de la instalación:
( 1 ) - Adapt-a-Valve™ de plástico y
sujeción negra
( 1 ) - Adaptador de bronce sin arandela
( 1 ) - Adaptador de bronce con arandela negra
( 1 ) - Arandela de goma de color blanco
El suministro de agua hacia el sistema se debe conectar
exclusivamente con el tubo de suministro de agua fría.
El agua caliente produce daños graves al sistema.
No aplicar cinta de teflón a Adapt-a-Valve.

Paso A - Cierre el suministro de agua fría al grifo girando la válvula
de paso angular a la posición totalmente cerrada.
Paso B - Abra el grifo de agua fría del lavabo para liberar la presión.

coloque Adapt-A-Valve™ como se muestra en las cuatro
fotografías más arriba.

Reemplazo del filtro
Para solicitar el filtro, comuníquese con Watts al 1-800-224-1299
Watts recomienda cambiar el elemento filtrante cada 6 meses.
Utilice únicamente los cartuchos de reemplazo Watts. Es posible que
haya otros filtros con la misma apariencia, pero únicamente los filtros de
Watts se fabrican para adaptarse a la unidad de LCV que usted posee, a
fin de garantizar una reducción adecuada de los contaminantes del agua.
A. Cierre el suministro de agua entrante a la unidad de LCV
haciendo girar la PERILLA de Adapt-A-Valve™ en el sentido de
las agujas del reloj. Nota: El alojamiento del filtro contiene agua.
Levante la manija del grifo para liberar la presión del agua.
B. Quite el bastidor del filtro de la tapa. Para hacerlo, destorníllelo
hacia la izquierda, como se muestra en la figura D.
C. Extraiga el cartucho de filtro usado y deséchelo.
No descarte la junta tórica del alojamiento del filtro.
D. Limpie el interior del alojamiento del filtro con agua jabonosa tibia
y enjuague bien para quitar el jabón.
E. Aplique a la junta tórica un lubricante soluble en agua (es decir,
K-Y Jelly®o lubricante de silicona).
No use lubricantes a base de petróleo como Vaseline®.
F. Coloque la junta tórica sobre la ranura del alojamiento del filtro e
inserte nuevos cartuchos de filtro en el alojamiento del filtro.
G. Atornille el alojamiento del filtro a la tapa, como se muestra en la
figura D.
H. Abra el suministro de agua hacia el filtro girando la perilla de
Adapt-A-Valve™ en el sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj.
I. Verifique que no haya pérdidas en el sistema.
