Product description
Fragrance Dosing Type DUFTDOS-DS is a dosing system for the measured dosing of fragrance concentrate
into the steam pipe of steam rooms.
Function
The fragrance concentrate is dosed by the hose pump into the steam pipe via the dosing line. The dosing
cycle, consisting of dosing time and pause time, can be set individually at the control unit. The dosing time is
set inside the casing prior to commissioning. The pause time is set at the potentiometer. If the pause time is
at "0", the device is in test mode and doses continuously. Test mode is used for venting the dosing line between
the device and steam pipe. The dosing line is made from transparent PTFE, which means that the air bubbles
in the pipe can be observed during venting.
The optional dosing valve is installed in the steam pipe and is used for connecting the dosing flow.
ATTENTION!
The device must be connected in such a way that dosing only occurs when the steam
generator is producing steam.

3.2.1 Dosing unit
Fragrance dosing is performed using a hose pump, which can also reliably convey
the smallest dosing quantities, even when air bubbles are trapped in the suction
line. The rotating rollers press the dosing hose against the wall, which pushes the
liquid in the hose out from the rollers while simultaneously feeding behind it. It is
exceptionally reliable and very easy to operate.
Fragrance concentrations may be exceptionally aggressive. The dosing hose used
is resistant to most commercially-available concentrates.
ATTENTION!
The composition of fragrances varies. This may reduce the service life of the hose. The
fragrance pump must therefore be checked regularly in accordance with the
maintenance schedule, or rather each time the fragrance is refilled.
3.2.2 Control unit
The operating parameters at the rotary potentiometer can be set at the control unit. The control board is
installed in a splashproof casing.

3.2.3 Dosing valve (option)
The valve is a combined spring-loaded check and dosing valve.
In the event of a fault in the pump or dosing line (hose rupture, maintenance work), the dosing
valve ensures that steam from the steam pipe does not enter the dosing line.
During trouble-free operation, no dosing valve is required as the pressure of the pump is higher
than the pressure in the steam pipe.
3.2.4 Console (Option)
The device is delivered for wall-mounting as standard. The fragrance container is placed on the ground.
The optional console is designed for elevated installation, so that the floor remains clear. The fragrance container is placed
on the console. The console is available in two sizes.

The device may be damaged by frost or high temperatures. Avoid exposure to frost
during transport and storage! Do not store the device near objects with significant heat
radiation or in direct sunlight. The device may only be transported and stored in its
original packaging. Please ensure careful handling.
For transport and storage purposes, the roller support of the dosing pump is not mounted. This prevents the
hose from becoming deformed.
Storage of fragrances / chemicals
DANGER!
The safety data sheets provided by the fragrance manufacturer must be observed
during storage!
These are some of the points that must be observed:
Fragrance concentrates must only be stored in the appropriately identified original plastic containers.
Fragrance concentrates must be stored in a separate storage space.

7.1.2 Checking dosing valve
Certain fragrance concentrates cause deposits in the dosing line and in the dosing valve. This may interfere
with the fragrance dosing.
Check the dosing valve every 6 months or as required
1. When refilling the fragrance concentrate allow the pump to suck some air in.
2. Observe the air bubble when the fragrance pump is operating.
3. If the air bubble in the suction pressure hose is transported further, the fragrance dosing is functioning
correctly. If the air bubble moves back and forth, the dosing valve is blocked and must be cleaned.
Clean dosing valve
1. Release the dosing hose from the dosing valve.
2. Unscrew the dosing valve.
3. Wash the dosing valve out with warm water or rinse it with methylated spirit.
4. If this proves unsuccessful, renew the valve.

7.1.3 Test pump functioning
Set the pause time to "0". The retaining washer must revolve.
Test pump suction function
1. Pull pump suction hose out of the container.
2. The pump must suck in air, which causes air bubbles in the dosing line.
If no air is being sucked in, the suction function is faulty.
3. The dosing line must then be vented. See Section 5 "Commissioning".
