Precautions
Instructions
- Oil tool prior to each use (about 4-5 drops of air tool oil in the air inlet).
- Use the correct air pressure and CFM rating.
- Make sure the air is on OFF before connecting to air supply.
- Wear necessary protection for eyes and wear a mask if raising dust.
- Make sure the tool is disconnected from the air supply prior to changing accessories.
- Check the manufacturer’s instructions on air source for connection of regulators, filters, and other
accessories. Do NOT install quick couplers on tool as they may cause damage to the tool. Install them on a short
air hose and attach the hose to the tool.
Air Supply
- Ensure the air compressor used for the air tool produces the correct output (CFM).
- Switch off the throttle when connecting the tool to the air supply.
- Use a normal (90 PSI) pressure while using the tool as high pressure and unclean air may cause damage to
the tool as well as making it more likely to cause hazards.
- The air tank must be drained daily as water in the air line may cause damage to the tool.
- The air inlet cartridge must be cleaned weekly. Refer to the diagram below.
- Increase line pressure accordingly in order to make up for long air hoses (over 8 metres).
The minimum hose diameter is 1/4 I.D. and ensure the fittings have the same inner dimensions.
An air hose of 3/8 I.D. diameter is recommended for air supply to get the best results.
- Do NOT install quick couplers on tool as the vibration may fail. Install them on a short air hose and attach the
hose to the tool.
- Make sure to keep hoses away from heat, oil, and sharp edges. Check them for any damage before using and
ensure the connections are secure.
- Ensure using the correct size of rivets to fit with the riveter as incorrect sizes may cause damage.
- Maintain the cylinder - refer to diagram below.
- Disconnect air hose and use a spanner to remove the head (Fig. 1) and to open the bottom cover (Fig. 2).
- Remove the cylinder piston (Fig. 3) and clean the inside and frame body.
- Fill lubricating oil (Fig. 4).
- Clean the stem of the piston, applying grease to the inner walls of the cylinder and the O-ring (Fig. 5).
- Re-assemble the riveter following the disassembly procedure in reverse.
