Betriebsart
Der gesis® P MS8-360-1L… kann die Beleuchtung auf zwei Arten steuern. Bei der
ersten Betriebsart wird die Beleuchtung mit der Fernbedienung
gesis® PIR IR B-04 IPD eingeschaltet und schaltet sich dann bei Verlassen des
Raumes nach einer festgelegten Verzögerungszeit automatisch aus.
Bei der zweiten Betriebsart wird die Beleuchtung automatisch ein- und ausgeschal-
tet. Wenn ausreichend Tageslicht vorhanden ist (über dem festgelegten Wert), wird
die Beleuchtung nicht eingeschaltet.
Werkseinstellung
Bei den Meldern können verschiedene Funktionen geändert werden.
Master gesis® P MS8-360-1L: Slave gesis® P MS8-SL:
− Automatisches Ein-/Ausschalten − Empfindlichkeit zweithöchste Stufe
− Nachlaufzeit 15 Minuten
− Helligkeitsschwellwert 200 Lux
− Empfindlichkeit zweithöchste Stufe
Installation
Beide Melder sind mit Steckverbindern vorkonfektioniert. Der elektrische Anschluss
erfolgt ausschließlich steckbar. Die notwendige Steckverbinderfamilie entnehmen
sie bitte obiger Tabelle (Varianten).
Alle Melder sind zum Deckeneinbau und werden durch ein Loch mit dem Durch-
messer 86 mm bei maximaler Materialdicke von 30 mm befestigt.
Allgemeine Beschreibung
Die Präsenzmelder gesis P MS8-360-1L (1Lb, 1LSL, SLb, SLSL) dienen zur
Beleuchtungssteuerung. Sie schalten die Beleuchtung bewegungs- und helligkeits-
abhängig sowie vollautomatisch oder nach Aktivieren der Steuerung durch eine
Fernbedienung. Der Helligkeitsschwellwert und die Empfindlichkeit des Melders
können individuell eingestellt werden. Das Ausschalten der Beleuchtung erfolgt
automatisch nach der letzten Bewegung und Ablauf der Verzögerungszeit oder
direkt durch das Ausschalten über die Fernbedienung.
Zum Abdecken von Flächen, die über den Erfassungsbereich eines einzelnen
Melders hinausgehen, kommen Slaves (gesis® P MS8-260 SL…) zum Einsatz. Die
Slaves melden dem Master das Erkennen einer Bewegung. Der Master übernimmt
alle weiteren Funktionen. Aus diesem Grund kann in den Slaves nur die Empfind-
lichkeit eingestellt werden.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass alle Parameter mit der Fernbedienung gesis® PIR IPD-16A
festgelegt werden.

Anwendung
Die Melder sind für den Einsatz in Büros, Schulen, Besprechungsräumen und
ähnlichen Räumlichkeiten bestimmt. Die Melder gesis® P MS8-360-1L… eignen
sich für kleine und für große Räume, da sie mit mehreren Slaves gesis® P MS 360 SL
ergänzt werden können.
WARNUNG
− Nur Elektrofachkräfte dürfen dieses Gerät installieren und in Betrieb
nehmen. Vor Ausführung müssen sie diese Anleitung gelesen und verstan-
den haben.
− Gerät nicht öffnen. Keine Fremdobjekte einführen. Gerät von Wasser und
Feuer fernhalten.
− Gerät nur in spannungsfreiem Zustand anschließen oder trennen.
− Die einschlägigen Normen, Richtlinien, Vorschriften und Bestimmungen des
jeweiligen Landes sind zu beachten.

Testbetrieb (gesis® P MS8-360-1L...)
Nach der Installation des Sensors kann überprüft werden, ob die gewählte Position
optimal ist. Dazu wird der Sensor in den Testbetrieb versetzt. Die auf 2 Sekunden
verkürzte Nachlaufzeit und der ausgeschaltete Helligkeitsschwellwert ermöglichen
einen einfachen Test.
Zum Aktivieren des Testmodus wird die Fernbedienung gesis® PIR IR B-21 IPD
benötigt.
Gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
− [ ]-Taste auf Fernbedienung 4 Sekunden lang gedrückt halten. Blinkt die LED
am Sensor rot/grün befindet sich dieser im Testmodus.
− [ ]-Taste kurz drücken um Testmode zu verlassen. Die LED am Sensor
erlischt.
Halb- oder vollautomatischer Betrieb
(alle Master gesis® P MS8-360-1L...)
Halbautomatisch:
Manuelles Ein- und automatisches Ausschalten. Zum Einschalten ist die Fernbedie-
nung gesis® PIR IR B-04 IPD notwendig.
Vollautomatisch (Werkseinstellung):
Automatisches Ein- und Ausschalten. Der Helligkeitsschwellwert wird beim auto-
matischen Einschalten berücksichtigt. Unabhängig vom Helligkeitswert können mit
der Fernbedienung gesis® PIR IR B 04 IPD folgende Einstellungen vorgenommen
werden:
− Ausschaltverzögerung wird berücksichtigt
− Sensorempfindlichkeit wird jeweils berücksichtigt
− Fernbedienung kann in beiden Betriebsarten verwendet werden
Zum Festlegen der Betriebsart halb- oder vollautomatisch wird die Fernbedienung
gesis® PIR IR B-21 IPD verwendet.
Um die Betriebsart mit der Fernbedienung zu ändern, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
1. [] kurz drücken. Die grüne LED am Sensor leuchtet zur Bestätigung auf.
2. [ZONE 1] kurz drücken. Die grüne LED am Sensor erlischt kurz, der Melder ist
nun in der Programmierfunktion für die Betriebsart.
3. [ON / OFF] zum Wechseln der Betriebsart (halbautomatisch/vollautomatisch)
kurz drücken:
3.1 grüne LED erlischt kurz = halbautomatisch
3.2 rote LED blinkt kurz = vollautomatisch
4. [ ] zum Speichern kurz drücken. Alle LEDs am Sensor erlöschen.
Helligkeitsschwellwert einstellen
(alle Master gesis® P MS8-360-1L)
Ist die Beleuchtungsstärke unterhalb des parametrierten Schwellwertes, wird im
Automatikbetrieb die Beleuchtung eingeschaltet sobald eine Bewegung erkannt
wird. Ist der gemessene Helligkeitswert oberhalb des Schwellwertes, wird die
Beleuchtung im Automatikbetrieb nicht eingeschaltet.
Unabhängig von der Betriebsart kann die Beleuchtung immer über die Fernbedie-
nung gesis® PIR IR B-04 IPD eingeschaltet werden.
Der Schwellwert kann auf die vorgegebenen Werte 100, 250, 400, 600, 800 und
1000 Lux eingestellt werden (Werkseinstellung 200 Lux). Diese Werte können
zwischen 50 und 500 Lux schrittweise um jeweils 50 Lux erhöht oder verringert
werden. Für Werte über 500 Lux sind nur die fixen Werte verfügbar.
Zum Festlegen des Schwellwertes wird die Fernbedienung gesis® PIR IR B-21 IPD
verwendet.
Gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
1. [] kurz drücken. Die grüne LED am Sensor leuchtet auf.
2. [xxx LUX] kurz drücken. Die grüne LED am Sensor erlischt kurz, der ent-
sprechende Wert ist gesetzt. Ist dies bereits der gewünschte Wert, dann die
Einstellung mit Punkt 4. beenden.
3. [] zum Erhöhen oder [ ] zum Verringern um 50 Lux kurz drücken. Die grüne
LED am Sensor erlischt kurz zum Bestätigen der Aktion. Blinkt die rote LED kurz
auf, ist das Minimum von 50 Lux oder das Maximum von 1000 Lux erreicht.
4. [] kurz drücken um die Einstellung zu speichern. Alle LEDs am Sensor
erlöschen.
Nachlaufzeit (alle Master gesis® P MS8-360-1L...)
Der Zeitraum, wie lange das Licht nach Erfassung der letzten Bewegung einge-
schaltet bleibt, kann auf 15 bis 180 Minuten eingestellt werden. Zum Festlegen der
Nachlaufzeit wird die Fernbedienung gesis® PIR IR B-21 IPD verwendet.
Gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
− [] kurz drücken. Die grüne LED am Sensor leuchtet auf.
Bei den folgenden Schritten erlischt die grüne LED zur Empfangsbestätigung der
Einstellung kurz.
− [+15 TIME] länger als 4 Sekunden drücken, um die Nachlaufzeit auf
15 Minuten zurückzusetzen.
Abmessungen
− [30 MIN] oder [60 MIN] kurz drücken um die Nachlaufzeit auf 30 oder
60 Minuten zu parametrieren.
− [+15 TIME] zum Erhöhen oder [–15 TIME] zum Verringern der Nachlauf-
zeit kurz drücken. Blinkt die rote LED kurz auf, ist das Minimum von 15
oder das Maximum von 180 Minuten erreicht.
− [] kurz drücken, um die Einstellungen zu speichern. Alle LEDs am
Sensor erlöschen zur Bestätigung.
Ansprechempfindlichkeit
Das Ansprechverhalten der Melder kann in vier Stufen eingestellt werden.
Kommt es häufig zu Fehlschaltungen kann man dies gegebenenfalls durch die
Einstellung einer geringeren Empfindlichkeit beheben.
Zum Einstellen der Ansprechempfindlichkeit wird die Fernbedienung
gesis® PIR IR B-04 IPD benötigt:
−[] kurz drücken. Die grüne LED am Sensor leuchtet zur Bestätigung auf.
−[ZONE 1] lange drücken; die höchste Empfindlichkeit ist aktiviert. Ein
Blinken der roten LED bestätigt die Programmierung.
−[ZONE 2] ist die zweithöchste Empfindlichkeit und wird wie oben
beschrieben programmiert.
−[ZONE 3] ist die zweitniedrigste Empfindlichkeit und wird wie oben
beschrieben programmiert.
−[ZONE 4] ist die niedrigste Empfindlichkeit und wird wie oben beschrie-
ben programmiert.
−[] kurz drücken, um zu Beenden. Alle LEDs am Sensor erlöschen.
Erfassungsbereich der Melder
Der Erfassungsbereich kann durch Anschließen eines Slave gesis® PIR MS8-
360-SL erweitert werden. Details siehe Abbildung.

Operating Mode
The gesis® P MS8-360-1L… can control the lighting in two ways:
In the first mode, the lighting is switched on with the remote control
gesis® PIR IR B-04 IPD and switches off automatically when leaving the room after
a specified delay time.
In the second mode the lighting is switched on and off automatically. If there is
sufficient daylight (above set value), the lighting is not switched on.
Default settings
Various functions of the presence detectors can be changed.
Master gesis® P MS8-360-1L: Slave gesis® P MS8-SL:
− automatic ON/OFF − sensitivity on second-highest level
− delay time 15 minutes
− brightness threshold 200 Lux
− sensitivity on second-highest level
Installation
Both presence detectors are pre-assembled with plug connectors. The electrical
connections are only plugable. For the necessary plug-family please refer to the
table above.
All presence detectors are for ceiling installation and are fixed through a hole with a
diameter of 86 mm. The maximum thickness of the material is 30 mm.
General Description
The gesis® P MS8-360-1L (1Lb, 1LSL, SLb, SLSL) are for light control.They switch
the lighting dependant on movement or brightness, fully automatically or after
activating the control via remote. Brightness threshold and sensitivity of the sensor
can be adjusted individually. The lighting is switched off automatically or after the
last movement and end of the delay time, or is switched off directly via remote.
For covering areas that go beyond the detection range of one detector, slaves
(P gesis® MS8-260 SL ...) are used. The slaves report detection of movement
to the master. The Master controls all further functions. For this reason only the
sensitivity can be set in the slaves.
Please note that all parameters are set with remote gesis® PIR IPD-16A.

Application
The sensors are for use in offices, schools, meeting rooms and similar locations.
The gesis® P MS8-360-1L... are suitable for small and large rooms, because they
can be combined with several slaves gesis® P MS-360-SL.
CAUTION
Since the presence detectors are integrated directly into the plug-
in installation, the appropriate provisions for cable tension relief apply.
If the presence detector is opened, this can‘t be guaranteed and Wieland makes
no guarantees.

Test-mode (gesis® P MS8-360-1L...)
After the installation of the sensor it can be checked if the chosen position is optimal
for the sensor. Therefore the sensor is set to test-mode. The time delay is shor-
tened to 2 seconds and the switched-off brightness threshold allows a simple test.
For activating the test-mode the remote control gesis® PIR IR B-21 IPD is used.
Proceed as following:
− press [] key on the remote for 4 seconds. If the LED on the sensor is
flashing red/green, the sensor is in test-mode.
− press [] shortly to quit test-mode. The LED switches off.
Semi- or automatic-mode
(all master gesis® P MS8-360-1L...)
Semi-automatic:
Manually turn on and automatically turn off. For switch-on the remote control
gesis® PIR IR B-04 IPD is necessary.
Fully automatic (default setting):
Automatic switch-on and -off. The brightness threshold is considered on automatic
switch-on. Regardless of the brightness value the following settings can be set via
remote gesis® PIR IR B04 IPD:
− Switch-off delay is considered
− Sensitivity of each sensor is considered
− Remote control can be used in both modes
For setting semi- or automatic-mode use remote gesis® PIR IR B21 IPD. For
setting the mode with the remote control proceed as following:
1. Press [] briefly. The green LED on the sensor flashes for confirmation.
2. Press [ZONE 1] briefly. The green LED on the sensor switches off briefly. The
presence detector is now set in programming function for the operating mode.
3. Press [ON / OFF] briefly to switch between semi- or automatic mode
3.1 green LED switches off briefly = semi automatic mode
3.2 red LED flashes briefly = full automatic mode
4. Press [ ] shortly to save the setting. All LEDs on the sensor switch off.
Setting brightness threshold
(all Master gesis® P MS8-360-1L)
If the light intensity is below the parameterized threshold in automatic mode the
lighting is switched-on, when a movement is detected. If the measured light inten-
sity is above the threshold, the lighting won‘t be switched on in automatic mode.
The lighting can always be switched on via remote control gesis® PIR IR B-04 IPD,
regardless of the operating mode.
The threshold can be adjusted to the preset values 100, 250, 400, 600, 800 and
1000 Lux (default setting 200 Lux). These values can be increased or decreased in
steps of 50 lux in a range between 50 or 500 lux. For values above 500 lux the fix
values are available.
For setting the threshold the remote control gesis® PIR IR B-21 IPD is used.
Proceed as following:
1. Press [] shortly. The green LED flashes on the sensor.
2. Press [xxx LUX] briefly. Green LED on the sensor switches off briefly and the
corresponding value is set. If this value is correct already complete with 4.
3. Press [ ] to increase or [ ] to decrease value in steps of 50 lux. Green LED on
the sensor switches off briefly to confirm action. If red LED flashes briefly, the
minimum of 50 lux or the maximum of 1000 lux is reached.
4. Press [ ] briefly to save the settings. All LEDs on the sensor turn off.
Switch-ON/-OFF delay time
(all Master gesis® P MS8-360-1L...)
How long the light stays switched-on after detection of the last movement can be
adjusted between 15 and 180 minutes. To set the switch-ON/-OFF time the remote
control gesis® PIR IR B-21 IPD is used.
Continue as following:
− Press [] shortly. Green LED on the sensor flashes.
In the following steps the green LED switches off briefly for confirmation of the
settings.
− Press [+15 TIME] more than 4 seconds to reset the switch-ON/-OFF time to
15 Minutes.
− Press [30 MIN] or [60 MIN] briefly to parameterize the switch-ON/-OFF time
to 30 or 60 Minutes.
− Press [+15 TIME] briefly to increase or [–15 TIME] to decrease the switch-
ON/-OFF time. If red LED flashes briefly, the minimum of 15 or the maximum
of 180 minutes is reached.
− Press [] briefly to save the settings. All LEDs on the sensor switch off for
confirmation.
Response value sensitivity
The response value sensitivity can be adjusted in four levels. If there are many
faulty circuits they can possibly be avoided by choosing a lower sensitivity level.
To change the sensitivity level the remote control gesis PIR IR B-04 IPD is
necessary:
1. Press [] briefly. Green LED on the sensor flashes for confirmation.
2. Press [ZONE1] long to choose the highest sensitivity. Red LED flashes for
confirmation.
3. Press [ZONE2] long to choose the second highest sensitivity. It is programmed
as described above.
4. Press [ZONE3] long to choose the second lowest sensitivity. It is programmed
as described above.
5. Press [ZONE4] long to choose the lowest sensitivity. It is programmed as
described above.
6. Press [ ] briefly to end programming. All LEDs on the sensor switch off.

slave gesis® PIR MS8-360-SL unit. Details see image below.
