MACHINE PREPARATION
BATTERIES
1.
Install the batteries and connect the cables as shown.
WARNING; PROVIDE PROPERVENTILATION, LEAVE
DOOR OPEN WHEN CHARQING BATrERIES.
2.
Chargethe batteries before using the machine. (See
batterycharging procedure).

engagebrush lugs in plate. A quick countedockwise

CLEANINGSOLUTION
1. Fill machine with hot water and addcleaningchemical
at theproportion noted
on the container.

CHEMICALS
The internal parts of the pump used in the scrubber (on
modelsequippedwith awriliarypump) are suitableforuse
withmost cleaning chemicals. But it is susceptible to
chemicalattach fromsomecleaningsubstances,such
as
hydrocarbonsolventsand chlorinatedbleaches. These non-
compatiblematerials arenot of the type normallyused for
cleaning.

designations, IE: will be shown in the up
coming graphical examples in this guide.
OPERATING THE MACHINE
1.
Adjust the operatorcontrolhandle to acomfortable
position.
2. Switch on main power switch.
3. Releasesolution. (Pull solutioncontrollever rear -
ward.) NOTE: The amount of solutioncan be regulated
during operationdepending
on the type of floor and the tra -
verse speed of the machine.

CAUTION: Do not leave brush running on floor
whilemachine
is stationary.
Lowersqueegee. Pull squeegee

NOTE: Use adjustingknob to changepressure on
the squeegee. Item 26 page 12 of this manual.

Operation for the proper motion controlof the

1. Disconnectbattery charger. NOTE: Disconnectthe
“AC“ power cord from the wall receptacle before
removing the
“DC‘ Chargerplugfrom the machine.
Check waterlevelinbatteries. Add
distilled water as
needed.
Attach brush ordrivepad to driveplate.

Connect the “DC” chargerplug to the connector on the
machine.

After charging

BATTERY MAINTENANCE
1. Keep tops of batteriesclean and dry. Use a damp
clothwith
a weak solution of baking soda or
ammonia and water. Use a clean dry cloth to wipe
battery tops dry aftercleaning.
If cOrrOSioll (whitedeposits)appears on the battery
terminals and cableclamps, remove and clean. Use a
battery terminal and connectorcleaningtool.
Keep the battery electrolyteat the correctlevel -
approximately 1/4” below bottom of iiller tube of
eachcell. Distilledwater shouldbe added, as
needed, AFlXR chargingcycle.

CAUTION: Before making and adjustments or
repairs to the machine ...
1. Only qualifiedmaintenancepersonnel are to
performrepairs.
2. Make sure battery charger is disconnected.
3. Make sure all switches are “OFF’.
4. Remove batteries as required or disconnect main
battery leads from batterieswhen making repairs
to electricalsystem..

SQUEEGEEASSEMBLY
To removesqueegee assembly - .

Raise squeegee lift arm to storeposition.
Remove vachose
frm squeegee.
Pull retainingpin from locator stud. Push down and
slidesqueegee to the right to disengageright hand
studfromdrag ann.
When installingorreplacingsqueegeeblades make
sure the smoothside of the blade is next to the
squeegeecasting.

ADJUSTMENT OF SQUEEGEE
VACUUM MOTOR
1. Disconnect battery leadsandremove batteries
fromcompartment.
2. Remove (6) screwsholdingvacmotor/ plate
assembly torecovery
tank.
3. Disconnectvac motor lead (I om connector
and liftout vac motor/ plate assembly.
4. Check motorbrushes. When worn to 3/8” replace
both brushes.

PUMP ASSEMBLY
(On modelsequipped with auxiliary pump)
1.

Remove batteries and squeegeeassembly. Lay the
machine on side.
Disconnect pumpmotor leads. Remove (4) screws
holdingpump to
chassis. Disconnectsolution
hoses from pump head
drawingfor replacementparts.and
lift outpump
CAUTION: When replacinghosebarb on the pump
head
- DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN - as this could crack
intake and exhaustports in pump head.
WHEELS I CASTERS

Use allen wrenchtoremove wheel retaining smw.
Use arborpress toreplace bearings as requind. Use
grease
gun to lubricate bearings throughzerk fitting
on wheel hub and caster axle.
1. The angle of the s ueegee can be changedwith the
adjustingscrew.
9r Turn screwclockwise to tilt
squeegeeforward and counterclockwiseto tilt
rearward. Tighten lock nut aftermakingadjustment.
Down pressure
can be increased ordecreased with the
adjustingnut.
A properly adjusted squeegeeblade
shouldhave
a slightbend. (Fig. 1)
Squeegeetracking can be controlledby adjusting
tension of squeegee springs.
NOTE: Position
recoveryhose
as shown on page 7 item 37.

behind leftwheel. Remove sedimentbowl and screen
periodically and rinsecleanwith hot water. Be careful
not tomisplace the Gasket.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Cleanbattery cableclamps and battery texminals.

If no voltage at B & H remove leads and check micro switch for
continuity. Shouldhave continuityin
normal position and no
continuitywhen switch is activated
Reset vacmotor Circuit breaker (25 amp).
Check motor lead connections at terminals.
Remove leads and checkswitchfor continuity.Replace as needed
With main switch “ON” and vac switch “ON” check voltage atpoints
B
& I. Voltage should be 22/26 VDC.
With main switch “ON” and vac switch “ON” check voltageatpoints
B & J. Voltage should be 22/26 VDC.
Check motorbrushes. Replace when worn to 3/8”. With batteries fully
charged and motor
secured applybatteryvoltage directly to motor.
The amp draw
of motor should be bemeen 18 - 24amps.
Reset CircuitBreaker.
Check motor leadsat terminal block comections(located on inside
of frame).Tighten screws as needed
Remove leads
and checkswitchfor continuity.Replace as needed
With main switch “0N”and brush switch “ON” checkvoltage at
pointsB
& K. Voltage should be 22426 VDC.
With main switch “0N”and brushswitch “ON” check voltageat
points B
& K. Voltage should be 22/26 VDC.
Check motor brushes. Replace when worn to 3/8”. With batteriesfully
charged and motor
secured, apply battery voltage directlyto motor
should be 6 to 8 amps.
Check for loose connections at solution light, solution switch
and atvac fanrelay ground.
Remove light and applydirect voltage (24VDC) to light. Replace
light asneeded.
Adjust solutionlightswitch.
Check connectionsat battery card, micro switchat chargercon -
nection, and ground connection at vacmotor relay.

Make sum battery door is open and doorleg is in the downposition.
Roll the BatteryCartup to the rear of the machine (Aligning the front of the cart to the nar of the machinedoor.)
Push the cart until the hooks lock into the slots on the machine door. NOTE: Inspecttomakesurecart is securely
hookedtomachinedoor.
While holdingthe handle on the bottom rear of the cart in, push the batteries into the machine until the batteries are off
the cart and completely inside the machine.
Tum knob on the side of cart counterclockwise todisengagehooks androll cart away from machine.
Closedoorandfoldlegs
on the machine and contiuuewith normal operation.
Openmachine door
and placedoorleg in the downposition.
Roil the Battery Cart up to the rear of the machine (Aligningthe front of the cart to the rear of the machine.)
Push the cart until the hooks lockinto the slots on the machinedoor. NOTE: Inspecttomakesurecart is securely
hookedto machinedoor.
Pull the batteries onto the cart until the locking bracket at the front of cart locks in an uprightposition.
Turn knob on the side of cart counterclockwise to disengagehooks and roll cart & batteriesaway from machine.
Close doorand
fold legs on the machine and continuewith normal operation.
