InordertochangethecamerasettingsoftheWingtraOne20MPQX1,youfirstneedtopoweronyour
WingtraOne.ThenopenWingtraPilotonyourtabletandconnectthetelemetry.OncethatWingtraOne
isconnectedtoWingtraPilot,youwillseeacameraiconinthetoprightcornerofWingtraPilot(1).
CreateanewFlightPlan.SelectQX120MPascameraoptionandthecorrectlens.20mmPancake
lensaswellas15mmVoigtländerlensaresupported.
Tochangethecamerasettings,clickonthecameraicon(1)andatabpopsupshownintheimage
above.Hereyoucanfindalistofalltheparametersthatyoucanchange.Youcanclickonevery
parameter(2)andchoosethevaluethatsuitsbestyourneed.Incasetheparametersdonotupdate,
usetherefreshoption(3).Furthermore,youcanresettheparameterstodefaultvalues(4).

Thedefaultsettingsinthetableabovearevalidforboth,the20mmand15mmlenses,andgivegood
resultsinlargerangeoflightconditions.Incaseofverydarkconditionsyoucanincreaseshuttertime
(donotgobeyond1/1000s).Incaseofverybrightconditionsyoucandecreasetheshuttertime(e.g.
to1/4000s).
FocusoftheQX120mmlensiscalibratedforeverycameraindividuallybeforedelivery.Inthe
unlikelycasethatthelensgetsoutoffocusandyougotblurryimagesafteraflight,WingtraPilotoffers
afocuscalibrationfeature.Forthe15mmlens,youadjustaperturevalueandfocusonthelens.Make
surethatthefocusringonthelensisturnedtoinfinity.
Caution:RemoveQX1with15mmVoigtländerlensfortransport-The15mmVoigtländerlens
protrudesthepayloadcompartmentofWingtraOne.ForWingtraOneoperationthisisperfectlyfine,for
transportitisrecommendedtoremovethecamerafromthedrone.Todoso,unplugthemultiport
connector(4),pressthesafetyringthatholdstheQX1cameraonthepushbutton(2)andremovethe
camera.

Onthepreflightchecklistyouwillfindanelementthatcontains"Camera:Clickheretocheckthe
camera.".Oncethatyoupressit,thecamerawillcheckthattheSDcardisinsertedcorrectlyandthat
theinterfacebetweendroneandcameraworksreliably.Thisprocesscantakesometime,pleasebe
patientuntilthebuttonbecomesgreen.Inthecasethatthebuttonturnsred,firstcheckthattheSD
cardisinsertedcorrectlyandthatthelensisnotcoveredwiththeprotection.Thentryagain.

settingstomemoryrecall"1"or"3".MakesurenottooverwritethedefaultsettingsbyWingtraon"2".
ThenturnoffandonthecameraviathePowerswitchonthecamera.Tousethedesiredexposure
settingssettheModeDialtotherespectivesetting.
WingtraOnetakesaseriesoftestpicturesafteryoupresstheReady-to-Flybuttonduringthepreflight
proceduretocheckifthecameraissetupcorrectly,i.e.tomakesurethattheSDcardisinserted
correctlyandtriggeringfromtheautopilotispossible.WerecommendopeningtheWingtraOnecover
andinspecttheroutineonthecamerascreen.Afterpressingthe"Ready-to-Fly"buttonthecamerais
switchedoffandonagain,thanthetestpicturesaretaken(youcanseethecounterofremaining
spaceonSDcardontopleftofthescreengoingdown),andfinallythecameraisswitchedoffagain.
Incasethescreenisgoingblackfor>5sduringtheprocedure,checkifSDcardisinserted.Ifyourun
intotrouble,checktheWingtraOneRX1TroubleshootingSectionbeforesubmittingasupportrequest.
Caution:ThemanualapertureringcanbesettoanyvalueonlymechanicallyviatheAperture
SelectionRing.Thereisnostoragesettingforthecorrectapertureinmanualmode.
ImageQualitySettings
Itispossibletoincreasetheimagequalitysettingstoextrafine,andRAW+fine.Thesesettingscan
improvetheimagequalityevenfurther.However,thefilesizeofindividualimagesincreases
significantlyfrom~18MBwithfineto~38MB(extrafine)and~44MB+18MB(withRAWandfine).The
continuouswritespeedinthecameraduringimageacquisitionislimited.Totriggerreliablyevery
imagedonotusetheimagequalitysettingextrafinebelow1.4cm/pxGSD(@75%frontaloverlap),
andbelow2.1cm/px(@75%frontaloverlap)forraw+finesetting.Pleasenote:Imagefilesizedirectly
effectsthepostprocessingspeedofgeotagging,filecopyingandorthophotogeneration.Tochange
theimagequalitysettinggotothemenuandbrowsetothefirstpageintheimagesettingstab.
Changetheimagequalitysettingtoraw+jpegorextrafine.Tousethissettinginflightyouhaveto
saveittoamemoryrecallbuttonandadjustthemodedialtotherespectivenumber.Thecamera

AfterlandingperformthefollowingtwostepsbeforedepoweringWingtraOne:
TakeagainacalibrationimagebyholdingWingtraOneoverthereflectancetagandclicking
thesmallbuttononfrontsideofRedEdge.
DepowerRedEdgebyholdingthebuttononfrontsideofRedEdgefor3seconds.
RetrieveSD-cardfromRedEdgeandaccessyourflightimages
ConfigureRedEdgeCamera
OperationofWingtraOneRedEdgerequirestoconfigurethecameratothedesiredflightplan
parametersinaseparatecamerauserinterface.ThisuserinterfacecanbeaccessedviaWifiand
webbrowser(Chrome).Youcanusethetabletitselforanyotherdeviceasyoursmartphone.

FlyingWingtraOneRededgeonlowaltitudesaboveTakeoff
Ifyouarestandingonahillandflyovergroundthatliesbelowtakeoffaltitudeyoucanentera
situationwhereRedEdgedoesnotcaptureimages.Thecameraonlycapturesimageswhenflying
higherabovetakeoffthanhalfyourplannedaltitude.E.g.Ifyousetupaflightplanwithflightaltitude
of120maboveground,enableterrainfollowing,takeofffromahillandpartofyourflightislowerthan
60mabovetakeoff,itwillstoptriggeringimages.
Pleaseconsidertoswitchtotimebasedtriggeringatmaximumtriggerspeed1sinsituationswhere
yourareacoverssignificantaltitudedifferencesoryouwanttoflybelow60mabovehome.Tochange
totimebasedtriggeringchangetheAuto-CaptureModeto"Timer",andchoseanappropriatetime
periodtohavesufficientfrontaloverlapforyouGSD(minimumis1scorrespondingto16mtrigger
distanceinno-windcondition).

Inordertoensureflightsafety,certainrestrictionsonenvironmentalconditionsneedtobefollowed.
Checktheweatherforecast(e.g.onwindfinder)forwind,rain,andtemperature.Gatherinformation
abouttheconditionofthesite,e.g.intensityofradiationfieldsandaltitudeabovemeansealevel.
Makesureenvironmentalconditionsareasfollows:
Windgustsmustnotexceed30km/h(8m/s,16kts).Checkwiththeanemometerbeforeflying
anddonotflyifgustsongroundexceed6m/sonopenfields(inconfinedspacesyouhavetorely
onforecastsonly).Asaruleofthumb,windspeedsof6m/songroundonopenfieldscorrespond
towindspeedsof~8m/sin10m-20maltitude(forecastaltitude)and~10m/sin100maltitude.
WingtraOnewillreturnhomeautomaticallyifwindspeedsexceed12m/sduringflight.Ifyouflyin
